I have been meaning to try this place ever since I laid eyes on it. Its nice having things in the neighborhood like a White Castle, or a coney island. Nicky D’s is next to WC so when I get tired of them and don’t feel like cruising down to the Telway, this place is handy. The décor is modern, and although there is that nice Detroit touch of bulletproof glass, they do serve a good dog. At the time of my visit the shield was raised and I had a seat at the counter. My order was taken by a nice courteous waitress, and my coneys were in front of me in less than two minutes. This being Tuesday, it was also 99c coney day which is something that will actually bring me out of the woodwork every time. The dogs were the usual ones found at most coneys throughout the city and the same for the chili. There were plenty of onions, though I would have prefered a few more, what I got was more than adequate. The chili was very plentiful making it impossible to pick up my coney. This is what I call good, because if you can pick it up, there isnt enough chili on it. I will be back again and again, and maybe not on just Tuesday. They do offer other things, but going to a coney island and not getting the coneys is like going to Vegas just to see Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. Simply Not Done™ There is another location on McNickys(McNichols) and Livernois.(Couldnt resist the pun)
