Always Brewing Detroit

Came in for our monthly real estate meeting here. They had Cuban Black Bean and Ham Soup tonight. Also ordered my usual Pourover Decaf coffee. Had the Cuban Soup before and liked it. I’m beginning to see repeats in rotation with respect to their soup. Always Brewing is always friendly and always worthwhile.

My parents live in this neighborhood, I grew up there and so excited to see a coffee shop brewin’ up the caffeinated goodness just around the corner. Come here and be prepared for friendly, personable service, and lots of beverage options. I love a cozy coffee shop, and Always Brewing gives us just that. It truly is a cute neighborhood gem to meet and greet with other Rosedale Parkers!

I’m a little prejudice because its about a block from my house. Having said that the coffee is great and as you have read in many reviews Amanda (the grand Poo Bah of the place) is marvelous! She has brought a a community spirit with her and does a lot to host community events. The food is limited but the list is growing and everything is very good, and sourced locally. There will be a real kitchen in the near future and I’m looking forward to that.

I love that they offer a host of events like Open Mic, book signings, and community workshops. They even had a knitting event this year. Always Brewing is a coffee house you can go to and get work done. It is a quiet, inviting place with local food and brews. They have salads and sandwiches from a Detroit small company available for purchase. I like the iced lattes when I am in the area. Located on Grand River close to the Southfield Fwy in Grandmont/​Rosedale Park. A local spot on the westside of Detroit.

The blends of coffee are amazing. I can come here and study for school with using the WiFi and get a plain or salt bagel with a coffee. I am satisfied

First visit today. Amanda, the proprietor was a welcoming host. Everything is local, brought in from no more than 15 miles from this location. The house blend is so smooth, you could drink it black! I shall be back.

Great place to wind down and relax, be in the moment/​mindful, Amanda had a great rebirth for the old Northwest neighborhood hall.

A favorite local coffee shop! Great coffee, amazing service. Owner Amanda Brewington brews a great cup of coffee, terrific teas, and my four year old can tell you how delicious the hot chocolate is. Run, walk, roll on in to say hello to your neighbors.

Love this little joint, it’s staff, and the coffee! Amanda has brought a great business to this neighborhood, and I’m happy to see it thriving. Every visit has been pleasant and the coffee delicious. Special events throughout the year add some fun to the calendar.

I grew up in rosedale park and love that I now have a reason to hang out in my old stomping grounds. They have a Thursday Open Mic that is amazing!

Always Brewing Detroit is an amazing place. Those of us who live in the neighborhood were thrilled when Amanda did a brief pop-​up shop last winter, and we patiently awaited the opening this summer. This place rocks! The staff is very knowledgeable about the coffee, and explain the taste profiles in a friendly way that makes you feel informed without being lectured. The spritzer drinks are an amazing creation of muddled fruit, juice, and soda, and are a perfect thirst quencher. There is a rotating assortment of delicious baked goods, nothing super fancy, but always fresh and locally made. The really cool thing about Always Brewing is that it is a pro-​Detroit establishment, and there is a commitment to support other local businesses and community events.
This is a comfy cozy place to hang out, and Amanda hosts a variety of happenings like crafts night for kids, documentary screenings, and open mic night. From the very beginning, there has been a conscious effort to spark community engagement, and it has quickly become a favorite neighborhood hangout. The only not so great thing about Always Brewing is that it is usually closed on the weekends. This is because Amanda has other work to do, and it is my hope that someday soon Always Brewing will be profitable enough to allow her to have more weekend hours.
Update: Always Brewing Detroit is now open on Saturdays 9-​noon, and this makes me very happy :-)

The perfect addition to the neighborhood! Always Brewing is a great spot for coffee, delicious baked goods, and lovely conversation with the owner, Amanda! Couldn’t be more thrilled to stop by on the way to school for a yummy and reasonably priced latte.

Great place. Simple menu with friendly service and very reasonable prices. Perfect in the afternoon for reading or getting some work done. They also play some pretty choice music. If you haven’t been by, fix thyself.

I was visiting Detroit for work and jumped on Unilocal to find the nearest coffee shop. I ended up at Always Brewing Detroit. It’s a cute space and the staff was amazingly friendly. The coffee was good and the freshly baked cookies were fantastic. It’s a nice, quiet, warm space. I highly recommend it.

If there is one thing you can get in Detroit, it’s a good cup of joe. In the past, you either went to Starbucks or into the suburbs. Coffee shops seems to be popping up weekly, particularly downtown and Midtown. Cool for folks for those who live and work there, but for those os us who live in neighborhoods like Grandmont-​Rosedale, Sherwood Forest, and Indian Village, it is a drag to have to travel for good coffee. Fortunately for people in Grandmont-​Rosedale now, we finally have a decent coffee shop close to home.
At Always Brewing, they got the fancy coffee. They have loose leaf teas. You can also get Mexican Coke, salads, sandwich wraps, cookies, and breads. Not to mention, service with a smile from owner, Amanda Brewington, and her family staff.
