Golden Chick

I’ve been sitting in this drive thru for the last 20 minutes. It took 5 minutes for my order to be taken after repeating myself four times. I was charged 2.20 for a large water under the premise of having to «charge for the cup». My water was pink hence the pink lemonade spout that it came from. The woman at the window was nice but geez, this is insane. Never will I return.

This is my second time in 2 years at this location. I know a huge stretch but whenever I’m in Dallas it is a MUST that I come here for chicken. It’s AMAZING! I love chicken so you’ve got to cook it right or i won’t eat. The fresh yeast rolls and crispy fries will have your mouth watering. Ordered 25 wicked wings. Let me tell you, boy boy boy! I can’t wait until my next visit to Dallas. I will be getting a catering size. All food is great reheated in the oven as well!

We were looking for a place for lunch and saw this Golden Chick located at the end of a small strip mall. They do have drive through service however we decided to dine in. Parking is at a premium as there is also a pizza right next door. Ordered the chicken salad sandwich and the counter person said they were out of chicken salad. A second later another employee who heard the ordering said that she had just made soem fresh chicken salad and ha enough for two sandwiches. The amount of chicken salad on the buns was very good and was indeed very fresh. I ordered a special I saw on the window, two pieces of dark meat fro $ 1.99. There is self several drinks and of course free soft serve ice cream. This was a good meal and quickly served. The counter person was very friendly.

Okay, this is the down and dirty on this Golden Chick location.
1. The food is always good and the sweet tea is the bomb. Seriously, get the dirty rice. You will thank me later.
2. There will be a line but it will move quickly.
3. The customer service is extremely hit or miss, and it is mostly miss when one of the teens is at the window. I don’t know if they specifically seek out the most awkward kids they can find with no proper socialization skills in hopes of training them to actually know how to effectively communicate, but seriously, bless their hearts they are definitely lacking in CS skills and basic human interaction. Maybe I should just text them my order instead.

I paid $ 5 something for 3 pieces of chicken strips and a side. I thought, «cool, cheap and it’ll be good» but I over paid!!! The pieces that they gave me were the size of my pinky!!! Never going back again! They where good but I expected the pieces to be at least reasonably big :/

Some of the best fried chicken strips I ever had. It’s crispy, yet oh sooo juicy. Perfectly seasoned and not greasy. The rolls are light, buttery and tasty.
The french fries are crispy and flavorful. Never dried out and stale.
Fast service. They’re on of my list of places to eat chicken.

Great food, good ownership who cares what his customers think. Roasted chicken and chicken salad excellent for healthy choices, for fried chicken the wicked wings with extra spice.
