Yum! So I can only comment on the take-out service and food here since I didn’t dine in. But the food was very good! I had some Colorado Green chili, it had a nice kick to it. Then the macaroni and cheese, super cheesy, all I needed to add to it was salt and pepper. There salads were also super fresh, and it looked like they made their own croutons. Some of the croutons were a little burnt but overall I am very happy with the food!

I am remiss in not posting a review for Zingers sooner, but today I received a Groupon offer and thought I should chime in, so others know to BUYTHEDEAL. The service is some of the friendliest and most attentive I’ve received in the D.U. area — which is known for preoccupied and too-cool-for-you servers. My food experiences have been solid and delicious. The Fried Mash Potato Cones are a must. The Onion Rings hit the spot. The sandwiches are good, but the bun doesn’t always stand-up to the filling. The gluten-free menu is why I came in the first place, a friend and her kids enjoy all the choices. The chili and I are waiting for colder weather to become acquainted.

So I’ve been thinking about what to write about Zingers for a few days now and the lightbulb finally went off. Zinger’s chicken is so overcooked that it must arrive at the shop fully cooked and then they cook it again. note: I gave zingers 5 chances and was disappointed every time… I REALLY wanted to like the fried food hangover castle.

Fast, friendly service, and the manager(owner?) takes a lot of pride in his store. I had the Chinese BBQ wings, which were said to be slightly spicy(I HATE spicy food) but they were darn good and not too spicy for me. The fried mashed potato things are heavenly(as long as you eat them fresh and warm, don’t think they’d be so good cold), but you should skip on the mac n cheese.

The first time I ate here I was mostly unimpressed and I rated Zingers with a two star rating. I posted my feelings and shortly thereafter I received an email from the owner. He was quick to remedy the dinner, listened to reviews and asked the detailed questions necessary to bring about positive change. This kind of concern and attention to detail makes for a great restauranteur. He replaced what I had previously ordered and threw in a bag of the most delicious fried mashed potato cones ever. The boneless wings with Chinese BBQ tasted superior to bone-in Teriyaki, the boneless white meat was both juicy and moist. They also have a hot-wing made with the Indian Ghost pepper. You know, the one that packs over a million scovilles. In contrast TABASCO® brand habanero pepper sauce contains a measly 7000 – 8000 scovilles. To keep up with all of that heat, Zingers is in the process of procuring a liquor license. Maybe then, you can have wing and hop goodness. The most impressive quality was in fast, friendly service and cleanliness. I will be back to try more of the menu when I have a craving for comfort food(s).

So overpriced for simple(and average) fried chicken!!! $ 10 for a sandwich?!? Plus all sides are extra! The employees are nice enough, but the owner is very rude. Great way to lose business. I’m all about supporting local businesses, but I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Decided to try this place out for the first time as a DU student a few days after it opened. I ordered some kind of buffalo chicken sandwich(with no sides or extras) for a quite high price of around $ 10. The quality of the food was quite average and the preparation time was very long. It really wasn’t worth the wait or the high cost. I would have gladly gone to one of the other fast-casual time establishments around the area for a better quality sandwich at a cheaper price.

Wings are undoubtedly a requirement for the Super Bowl, and with Zingers regarding themselves as «the place for Denver Buffalo Wings» this was our resolution for wing takeout for the big game. Zingers offers up a variety of wing options which seemed perfect for a variety of preferences by game watchers. To please all party goers we settled on ordering the buffalo, chipotle, hickory smoked salt, and the WTF sauces. WTF. for those inquiring. is claimed as the hottest wings in Denver that we were going to sucker the naïve and/or intoxicated game viewers into consuming. Considered the best wings in Denver, I was expecting a lot which probably led to my disappointment. The chipotle and buffalo wings had no complaints, but were about par with Hooters. The hickory smoked salt wings were a huge mistake. If we were attempting to lure wildlife to the party, we could have used it as a salt lick. It was salty to an extreme that beer did little to diminish the taste. As for the WTF wings, I can’t provide an accurate assessment as I refused to consume one. However, one consumer of the WTF wings provided the following quote: «They make me want to throw up» Obviously that was in response to the immense heat as opposed to the flavor as he ate about two dozen wings alone. Although not blown away by any of the wing choices, our decision was not a mistake as all were consumed including the half dozen WTF.

BUMMER — We ordered(bone-in) wings w/Kickin and WTF sauces. Sauces were good but the wings were gross — really fatty. The Blue Cheese had a sweet flavor that I didn’t care for either. Pricing is high for the quality. If you’re craving wings try Whole Foods(Tamarac) they have some really good smoked wings with a spicy buffalo sauce.

I want to clarify a few things. The reason I am giving four stars to Zingers is not for its Green Chili or its normal food. Rather I am giving it four stars because I had their hottest wings. In which is utilized the Bhut jolokia.(The Bhut jolokia is one of the hottest peppers on the planet, it has been described as causing tunnel vision). When I ate their wings I felt like I was on some illicit substance, after I ate them. It was oddly euphoric. This experience was like a religious experience and I admit I enjoyed it, though I am sure the pepper concentrate in their wing sauce was only 10 – 20 percent. This is why I am giving Zingers four stars. As their food is average at best.(Also you have to sign a release before you buy their hottest wings)

We stumbled in here on Labor Day. Nothing was open and we were just wandering around aimlessly. Hooray! We found something new and it was open. Awesome service, I will say that. The girls working were so helpful and friendly. The asked us several times after our food was served how we were doing and if there was anything we needed. The co-owner was there as well and it was interesting listening to him tell another couple his story. Apparently he sold everything to open Zingers. The walls and tables are covered in concert memorabilia from back in the day and it’s super cool. It all belongs to him. I wish I could have scored a Pink Floyd ticker for $ 15! It made for great conversation between me and my husband, looking at all the ticket stubs and albums. Now, for the food-pretty darn good! There are several items to choose from, sandwiches, salads, nuggets, green chili and yep-wings. I like that they have a combo that’s a side salad and 6 wings.(I like to pretend I’m balancing out my diet.) There are several sauces to choose from from Asian & Thai flavors, to BBQ or Pineapple Habenero. I went with the good old Buffalo and it was a winner. All the sauces are hand made and fresh. I want to go back and be more adventurous with my flavors. My husband ordered a chicken sandwich and it was huge! He loved it. They also server fresh cut French fries and you can load them up with a variety of toppings. Totally glutenous. Totally good.

I think the generic two stars rating says it best, «meh, I’ve experienced better.» Walked in, and upon first glance at the menu decided that I wanted to try the pineapple habanero wings, as spicy hot is the king wing flavor combination. Alas they ended up being sub par at best. The wing sauce was pretty tame on the scoville units and had a bottled candy pineapple flavor, while the chicken itself didn’t taste like it was seasoned before it was deep fried, pretty bland. I also did a side of the potato cones, which again sounded delicious on paper, but ultimately failed to deliver as well. They were golden crispy, and had the potential to be tasty, but the hot mashed potato inners weren’t seasoned at all. The overall bite of cone tasted more like the sauce I was dipping it in than anything else. The overall atmosphere was cool, and I’d really like to go back to try some other things off their menu, but I’m afraid Zingers will remain at the bottom of my list for a bit.

I tried Zingers yesterday for the first time and wow what a find! It’s right near DU and could be the best Fast Casual secret in Denver… The place is clean(bathroom was spotless) and the walls and tables are decorated with vintage rock and posters, records, etc… a very nice touch! And the food is top notch, high quality ingredients, fresh and lots of flavor… I had the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, I highly recommend it, and it was big enough to be my dinner as well… The service was friendly and knowledgable, and it appeared as if they already have some loyal regulars – always a good sign! Needless to say, this critic at large gives Zingers a thumbs up…

I was thinking thinking this place was going to be super awesome but alas, it was super terrible. I just moved to this neighborhood and after a full day of moving I was starved. We came here with high hopes. We order 18 pineapple habanero wings and potato cones. The cones were bland and flavorless. Same with the wings. They were just fatty and rubbery, almost inedible. Not crispy at all. I was very hungry so I tried to persevere but I was done after 2. The dipping sauces are room temperature Heinz. The blue cheese is refrigerated but look really gelatinous and gross, I couldn’t even be brought to sample it. Its a real bummer because these are $ 1 per wing so I really expected them to be good. I felt obligated to take the remainder of the wings home so they are in my fridge but soon to be the trash. Blech.

Tried this place out over the weekend and am definitely a fan. I ordered the WTF? boneless wings and some fries online(pretty slick that online ordering stuff) left my house about 10 minutes later and everything was ready when I got there. I didn’t even look in my bag, so when I got home I was very surprised to see a BLT tossed in the mix. It was almost as good as the wings. I was craving spicy and the WTF delivered. These things were HOT!

Ugh, went to Zingers and it would be great for those who need a high salt diet. Everything that we ordered was so salty that we couldn’t eat it. From the potato cones to the order of chicken wings it was so salty. The staff was nice, but when asked how lunch was, we told them and they said, sorry and then yelled in to the kitchen, to stop salting things so much. I haven’t been back since that experience because for the price of the food and it being so salty and inedible I don’t want to waste my money. I am disappointed. I hopes this place would be rockin’

I love this place! I find myself eating here at least once and sometimes two or three times a day. Their combo meals are a deal and I love their sandwiches and wings. The best part about this place is the mac and cheese, best i’ve had anywhere, and I mean anywhere. It’s creamy and perfectly cooked noodles and a tiny bit of bread crumbs that add just the right amount of texture. Their wings are great as well, especially their boneless wings. They prepare them fresh so they aren’t like these other places where they are frozen, the Zingers wings are made from fresh chicken breast and taste great. I believe they use the same pieces of chicken for the nuggets, which are definitely not your traditional nuggets. All the food here is just awesome, this place has taken over as my go to spot because of its food and friendly staff and ownership. I also must say the décor is pretty cool with a 70s rock and roll theme with music over the speakers all day long. I highly recommend you check this place out!

i heard this place was nice thru Unilocal.but forgot what the place was about. i was greeted by very friendly counter person and. i asked of what the restaurant was about and. its catering to the students with wings, sandwiches, salads and other items. we decided to order med buffalo bone in and mix of onion rings and fried cones(mashed potatoes, one of a kind?). our food came out pretty fast and quality was very good as expected. this is the only place around here that serves quality wings(i havent been to mad greek yet) and will definetely revisit. i may ask for 99 cent fries to go with my wings.

I stumbled upon Zinger’s today. It’s sitting where Quiznos once operated, Bye Bye Quiznos. I actually meant to go to Jimmy Dean’s next door but my backpack was so freakin heavy I couldn’t walk 10 more steps down(they are in the same plaza). I’m not much of a meat eater but I was pleasantly surprised. Their stuff is gooood. I got the combo meal: half sandwich, and half mac n cheese. The mac and cheese was pretty delicious. The bbq sandwich I got was very flavorful. You can request your chicken seared or fried. This store is very new and very clean. Their bathroom is also very«happy» looking LOL. It’s painted in a bright squiggly pattern style with lots o’ colors. I was like«woah!» when I walked in. Ok. sorry back to the food… They have this green spicy sauce sitting on the tables. Try it with your food! it’s de-lish! I put it on both my bbq chicken sandwich AND the mac n cheese and it tasted great. Sorry I’m not sure what the sauce was… just try it, its some special blend by the store. The menu has very wide selections. They’ve got all sorts of wings, chilis, sandwiches, chicken in a bag(nuggets), salads, various sides, and bakery treats. Prices for entrees range between $ 7-$ 15 depending on what you order. This place is owned by a DU Alum and his father. I think they’ve got a great concept. I was surprised to learn that it wasnt a chain because unlike most independent food shops, this place has that«fast, efficient, clean» image like most chains. I willll be back!

Zingers will be a great new addition to the DU community. The staff is super helpful and personable, the manager is a really nice guy, and the establishment itself is very clean with an amazingly extensive menu to choose from. I had the cobb salad and all of the ingredients were super fresh. The chicken on the salad was perfectly cooked and wasn’t more breading than chicken as you’ll normally find at fast food places. The potato cones, an import from the east coast, are delightfully crisp with the kind of potato inside you’d normally expect of a good french fry. Not too hard, not too soft, just right. The flavoring is pretty cool good too, not just your average salt. Overall a great alternative to french fries given the fact that it doesn’t retain oil like normal french fries. Great choice for busy students and people on the go, or those looking for quality chicken at fast food prices.
