We had my dad’s retirement party here and it’s a decent place to hold an event. The space is big enough for 200 guests with a decent dance floor and stage. The bartender was not very friendly though and towards the end of the night have us a vibe that he wanted us to leave. The food is good, we had the papaya salad, roasted chicken, rangy shrimp, and a clear noodle dish.

Yuck! Everything here sucks! The service, the atmosphere, the entertainment, the drinks! Are these Vietnamese people fresh off the boat? Dangit… it ain’t no Paris by Night!

Riza and I, both of us big fans of dim sum, tried this place on a weekend morning for what is advertised as Vietnamese dim sum. We were curious and excited — what new delicacies might we find? The answer is, not much. We skipped the items we had tried at various other dim sum places, choosing the few that were new to us. One noodle dish turned out to be a small bowl of soup, which we didn’t expect it to be. It was an odd dish, okay but scanty on the seafood that is part of its name(though it did have an unadvertised shrimp filling in). As for the rest, we ate everything we were served but none of it was exciting or memorable. We were glad we hadn’t ordered more. We paid up and skedaddled to try dim sum at JJ’s Chinese, which we enjoyed much more. The venue is big and looks well set up as a club for dancing and night life. It’s called V2 because it is an adjunct of Viet’s Restaurant next door. I think V2 does not have its own kitchen. Oh yeah, we were the only people other than the waitress and a couple of workers in a giant venue. Maybe it’s great at night, but the dim sum is no big whoop.

Came to V2 for friends fashion show event. Venue was big. Ordered egg rolls and spring rolls. Both were only ok. The waitress came back for the bill right away as well and it was annoying. The bartender was quiet and not very friendly. I don’t see myself coming back other then for some events. I do like how there is such a venue in the Vietnamese community.

Came here for an event and the service was horrible. Our waitress had no clue about what she was doing. I don’t really think she knew the morals of customer service either. After ordering a few things off of the menu, she kept coming back to hand us our checks. Initially, we thought, no biggie, we’ll just let it pile up and pay it when we leave. But, she kept coming back to grab the check book, anxiously waiting to ring our bill. However, the book was down, and there was no credit card sticking out, so she should know that we weren’t ready yet. Other than that, we ordered Calamari as an appetizer and the price came back totally different on the bill. After asking her about it, she then states that the price was different because of the event that night, and that she was going to tell us about the price change. Well, she should have before we ordered it. Luckily, the manager was understanding and cut that price. He even was confused as to what the waitress was trying to do. The Calamari came with no sauce so my friend asked for the specific sauce for the appetizers. Being in such a rush, she came back with Siracha sauce?! So, we asked for sauce again, and she comes back with a Hoison sauce. We basically gave up after that try. But all in all, the food was okay but service… HORRIBLE.
