AWESOME Barbershop! $ 12 for a great clippercut — actually a great flat top. Not sure I’d go there for a style cut — but if ya dig the old school barber cuts this is your place.

I hate getting my hair cut. I like a simple and streamlined process and appreciate a barber that can read my mind. I got what I was looking for. Upper Cut is a very casual barber shop that does it’s job and little more, which is what I like. If you are looking for an upscale establishment this is not it. If you want a cheeap and good hair cut come down and support your local barber.

I met Angie at the Upper Cut this morning. She is a very polite and delightful person. Angie asked me what I wanted and I got exactly what I asked for. She pays close attention to detail and does so with a high degree of efficiency. A few other guys came in while I was there and Angie knew each of them. I love how personable she is. Angie thanked me several times for coming in for the first time and wanted to make sure I would come back again. I wouldn’t hesitate.

this is a barber shop. it is not a salon. it is no frills quick, simple and easy haircut. if you’re a high-maintenance chick or someone who is, ahem, picky about their hair maybe this isn’t for you. i got a $ 12 haircut which included a beard and stache trim. my haircut got me laid later that day, hence the fifth star. a Vietnamese lady named Angie cut my hair. She was super good at her job!

This is a barbershop. Therefore if you want anything more than a clip, I would not suggest the Uppercut. I should have known that if I wanted someone to «trim» my curly hair that a barbershop is probably not the place to go. The woman who cut my hair ended up using the excuse that my hair was lopsided and she couldn’t get it the same length on both sides. First time I have heard that one. If you want a cut with clippers you will be fine.

this is where i go to get my hair cut-all of them. its not cutesy, i dont get a maasage after, i wonder if there’s even air conditioning, there arent punk rocky gothy hipster beauty school dropouts wearing the latest in whatever and i dont think they even play music! there is an older gentleman(the owner) and an asian lady who calls him uncle. i’d put in my vote for going to the older man the last time i got my haircut by the asian lady she kept cutting and cutting as i watched in horror and amusement to see what it would turn out like! in the end i walked out looking like i just left the gulag but i didnt care because its so damn hot outside! it was my own damn fault and in my failure as a «great communicator.» i have gotten two perfectly fine haircuts from her in the past in her defence! also she makes me scoot down in the chair because i’m too tall-which makes her endearing! there are always characters walking in and out. one time there was this crazy haired gentleman rambling on about the current state of colfax and its«improvements.» i found out through eavesdropping that he was a professor had written a couple books about denver’s history. i think one on the history of colfax and one on the kkk in golden-who were apparently a large mainstream part of life in golden at one point. dont worry– they sell the gentlemans books at the barbershop as well as tattered cover! if you want a real barbershop with no bs, w a little bit of boxing paraphenalia as well as a some historical denver photos upper cut will cut your hair for 12 bucks. this is the way barber shops should be!
