Wait… a tattoo shop that actually cares about what they put on someone’s body? If you’re looking to get a barbed wire tramp stamp– all you’ll get here is laughed at. The artists here are phenomenal and take their work seriously. They give great advise and make recommendations based on their specialization. Many produce artwork outside of tattoos. They’re honest, professional, clean, and responsible. Next time I have ink urges, I’ll for sure hit up this joint.

I mentioned in my last review that Twisted Sol was moving from their Ogden location. This shop has now shut it’s doors. The staff have split up into two different shops. Alicia Cardenas has opened Sol Tribe at 56 Broadway in Denver, and Big Mike has opened White Lotus at 7138 E. County Line Road in Highlands Ranch. I went back to see Alicia for follow-up to the piercing she did. The experience at the new shop is just as good as it was at Twisted Sol, just in a nicer building.

My husband(then boyfriend) introduced me to this amazing tattoo/piercing parlor on my first venture into the realm of sticking needles into body parts other than earlobes. :) Considering the trepidation that can inspire, my experience with Twisted Sol turned out to be stellar! I first went in with a girlfriend of mine to get my very first tattoo. While I knew what pieces I wanted incorporated into my original tattoo, I wasn’t sure how to make it look right… but thankfully, TS has some AMAZING artists and the girl assigned to me whipped up a drawing in less then 5 minutes that blew me away with its symbolism and artistry! Twenty minutes later, my new tattoo was emblazoned on the top of my right foot — perfect job! In the same visit, my girlfriend got her nose pierced — something she had wanted to do forever. She was scared to DEATH, but the girl who pierced her was such a professional she did it faster then my friend could flinch, and voila! It was done! I really can’t say enough about the artists at TS — they are professional, exceptionally talented, and are particularly great with«newbie» body art. They won’t look down on you for being a piercing/tat virgin, and are more then happy to usher you into that new world of self expression. Try them out!

Alicia is absolutely amazing, I’m a huge wimp when it comes to pain. I had my tongue pierced and she was so calm and patient with me. The women is a saint! I would highly recommend her for piercings of any kind. I haven’t had any of my tats done there, but maybe my next one will.

So far so good. I called to get some general information such as what time they open. If I need to make an appointment. She was very helpful. I’ve read other reviews in «CitySearch» that said that they were not very welcoming… I’m going in tomorrow morning to talk to a tattoo artist. I hope I have a good experience. I’ll let you know… October 28th, 2008 We met with Chris. He was shy and not real helpful at first. He told my friend to find a picture of what she wanted and bring it in. However, once we got to talking to him, he showed us some of the artist books and gave her suggestions. My girlfriend and I have our tattoo appt for Saturday at 1pm. October 30, 2008 I can’t believe it! I got a reminder call from them about my Tattoo appt with Chris on Saturday. Pretty good customer service so far. November 1, 2008 I love my tattoo. I’ll be going back soon to get more. By the way, they are moving locations at the first of the year.

I got my first tattoo here about 5 years ago(omg i can’t believe its been that long…). My tattoo was small and simple but as my first one I was happy with the service I received. I like how you have to have an appointment, there are no pick and choose books, and everyone here takes art seriously. My friend had many tattoos and piercings done here and he recommended it. Everyone I dealt with was very nice and accommodating. This place was so nice my DAD got his first tattoo done here a month after I got mine. His was much more detailed and artsy and it looks amazing.(way to go dad!) The only thing i didn’t like was that they didn’t take credit. Maybe its changed, but that was a little annoying. And you have to put a deposit down but i completely understand that. If i was still in the area I would for sure return.

Tattooist and piercer(s) are top rated in this extremely clean establishment. When I say extremely clean, I mean if you stand there and talk to the counter person and play with your earring, they will tell you to stop because it’s unsanitary and they don’t want you touching it, and then anything in the shop! Alicia is one of the owners and has been piercing for over 10 years. She takes great pride in her work, and is the only person I will ever go to. If you are looking for a surface piercing that has a better chance of taking, she is your girl.

I could not be happier with the work that I got done at Twisted Sol. It was my first tattoo, and one that I had been planning for a long time. I went to Sandi based on a friend’s reference, and could not have gone to anyone more perfect. I told her my idea, and she totally ran with it and made it special. She drew up a beautiful girl, and completely customized the whole thing. Part of the tattoo included some typewriter style words, which she did an amazing job on. She spent so much time making sure the stencil, and the placement were perfect. It ended up taking two sessions, about six hours total, and the end result was amazing. I get compliments almost on a daily basis. People cannot believe the detail, and how clean the words are. The shop is clean and professional, and all of the staff is super friendly. I cannot say enough good things about Twisted Sol, and about Sandi. She really put in the time and effort to make my tattoo special. I can’t wait to go back.

Went in to the shop yesterday and set up an appointment to get a little ink done today. Though what I wanted was super simple I still needed to schedule ahead. This is a good thing. Plus, I was able to get in today so I was still able to squeeze it in while on vacation. The shop is nice and clean, There’s plenty to look at while waiting and the staff is helpful if a little busy(again another good sign). Looking through the books in the shop I was struck by how AWESOME the work was. You know, you go in to a shop and see stuff and it’s OK… but god damn some of the work I saw was absolutely amazing. I ended up with Chris and my first impression was a little off. He seemed a little curt and I was not entirely sure about him. Once I was in the chair that was blown out of the water. I always think that one of the best parts of getting tattooed is the random conversations you get in to. Case in point: My friend and I talked about a fashionable leopard-print penis cozy(actually a seat belt pad, who knew?) I received once for my birthday Chris jumped in and the conversation turned to the masturbatory habits of jailbirds. Good times. What I had done was super simple but Chris still took his time to make sure it was exactly what I wanted which required moving the stencils around quite a few times ’til they were just right. He moved quickly and yet still managed to get everything right. I am very pleased with the outcome. Also, I have had several tattoos and no one has been so thorough while explaining the aftercare, going to far as rubbing the A&D on his gloves to show what was too much and what was just enough. Once he had explained everything he handed me a sheet that had everything on it and went over it again to make sure I knew what was what. A++ for that. You can not be too careful with your aftercare and he made sure I knew what to do. The price was pretty much in line with what I thought and well worth it. Also, they only accept cash and brilliantly have an ATM in the shop.

I really don’t think you can get a better tattoo experience than Twisted Sol. Most often you have to make an appointment for a consultation, which should say something in itself. Not the type of place you can just walk into and get ink, they are all about the preparation and making sure they know exactly what you want. Quality of work is amazing, I will never get inked anywhere else. HIGHLYRECOMMENDED!!! Very clean, professional, accomodating to the criers out there. Kind of pricey, but so worth every penny that you might end up giving the best tip of your life even after the final bill. Cash only.
