There are several places near my office I like to go for lunch. Thai Spice is one of them. It’s never so busy that I can’t go and be back in an hour. They also do pick up, which I prefer. They used to deliver, but no more. I’ve only ever had noodle dishes. The spice is just right. The Thai Iced Tea is yum. The noodles are good, and the veggies seem fresh. Lunches come with a soup and egg roll, and both aren’t bad. The portions are huge. Lunch always turns into leftovers for dinner, or the next day, from Thai Spice.

Don’t be fooled by location this place is the best thai food in Denver. So friendly and amazing food.

Excellent small restaurant. Great food, family owned. Large variety(not just pad thai and panang)

I have had this place a few times now in the last few months. Decided I had to say something so here it is. The food here tastes good, flavor is good pretty authentic. Here’s the BIG problem. They have no idea how to portion food for people. I ordered a thai fried rice and there were 3 small pieces of meat and like 2 pieces of veggies everything else was just rice for 9.95 I then decided to give it another try and got the pad Pre king dish same thing again a few pieces of meat and a little veggies. The entire portion was about the size of the my palm. Again 9.95 for a super small portion. If you want a small portion and a high price this us your place.

My new favorite neighborhood restaurant. Can’t believe I didn’t try it sooner. I can see how service would be slow if the place was packed, but it was great while we were there. I got Tofu Fried Rice and it was perfect.

I finally made it over here for lunch today. This little café is buried in a tiny strip mall with not much else around it. I’ve driven by a few times and somebody told me it was amazing so I had to go for it. I walked in and was brought to a small booth in the back of the restaurant. The waitress was very friendly and the service was great! I ordered the Pad Thai lunch which came with a clear vegetable and tofu soup and an egg roll. The soup and egg roll were brought out immediately and were both very delicious! I also ordered a Thai iced tea which was very tasty and refreshing. Now, for the Pad Thai Noodles. Words cannot describe how incredible the taste was! I was completely blown away! When I ordered it, I was asked how hot I wanted it on a scale of one to five. I asked for a four. The first few bites were just full of flavor but not much spice. As I got deeper into the dish, it got spicier and spicier. Before I knew it, my nose was running and I was high on endorphins. What wonderful bliss! I could over hear a lady at a table near me place her order. She asked for a zero, no spice. I almost started to gigle. After she got her food, she went on and on to her friend about how it was too spicy to eat. I wanted to call her a wussy wearing sissy pants, but I politely refrained. Now, for the down side. There were hard, rubbery bits of something in my dish. It resembled the rim of an overcooked fried egg. I’m sure that’s what it was. Hard bits of overcooked egg. There were also so many hard red pepper flakes in there that I kept picking out of my mouth. These two things, and these two things alone, are the only reason this place didn’t get a five star rating. I have every intention of returning and trying something else on the menu! This place is a hidden gem in the Denver metro area. I’m mad at myself for not coming here sooner! On a side note, the waitress told me they no longer deliver food… BOOOO! However she did let me know that they will gladly do take out and you call ahead and place your order.

I crave this place. The Pad Thai and Papaya Salad are to die for. Be careful the salad can be spicy but I love it. I have ordered Pad Thai in CA and Las Vegas and nothing has topped Thai Spice’s.

Good food, friendly service. I judge Thai places by the green curry and Pad Thai. Here, both were perfectly adequate, if not out-of-this-world delicious. Next time I’m out on Parker Road, I would definitely eat here again. Thanks to Mark T. for pointing out they have Miang Khum — this is the first place I’ve seen it in Denver(we used to always get this when we lived in California temporarily). A very refreshing starter for a Thai meal(lettuce, coconut, ginger, etc). I agree with other reviewers: It’s a tiny place with few staff, so waits can take awhile. But they prepared our relatively big to-go order in a reasonable period of time. and we got everything as requested. I liked it that they repeated our order back to us; later I saw them double-checking what they sent home with us. T.S. does have beer, so if you’re eating there you can enjoy a cold one with your meal.

My second favorite Thai place in the Denver Metro area. I go for the Tum Yum soup and it is simply delicious! I then tackle the Drunken Noodles and do the SUPERCOMBO that consists of the crispy fried catfish and awesome papaya salad. Good find tucked along Parker Road near Aurora.

It was alright. Not a bad location, and the décor and interior was good :) I must say though, that their Thai Iced Tea tasted dirty… or bitter… or both? Urghhh… worst glass I’ve ever had. I got the Pad Thai… which was pretty good… and I did try a friend of mine’s garlic/black pepper chicken which was good too. I’ll probably return… sometime…maybe.

My first trip to Thai Spice was a dinner with my daughter’s dojen many years ago. It was delicious then, and on subsequent trips. I have a hard time getting out here even though it’s only a few miles from my house. The worst thing is trying to remember exactly which strip mall it’s in and getting traffic to slow behind you for the left hand turn. Even now I can’t remember the name of that large housing complex on the left. We were both a bit under the weather and enjoyed browsing the various magazines and looking at some of the upgraded décor in the restaurant. Tonight the two of us had a quick late dinner. Service was slow but not that slow. We had Tofu Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles with Chicken. I love the way the names of the dishes describe characteristics of the food like a piece of literature. There used to be an Asian restaurant chain in Denver called the Yum Yum Tree, and this food is yum yum. Her Pad Thai was enough for two meals unless you are a growing male aged 12 – 35. Not to leave it off, my partner took advantage of a rare chance to order ice cream. The strawberry was yummy, dipped over a base of the sticky-sweet rice. I felt much better when we finished.

Mmmmmmmmmmm… Thai Spice Café. Within the walls of this South Parker Road stripmall spot, the impeccably-coiffed owner and her perky husband offer you some sensational Siamese specialties. To start my meal I always like Miang Khum. This amazing appetizer consists of a number of seemingly disparate elements — shredded coconut, chopped peanuts, tiny dried shrimp(remember, size isn’t everything), ginger slices and a few other ingredients — arranged on a plate and sided with cool lettuce to wrap them in and a tangy galangal sauce for dipping. Although often described as «the poor man’s appetizer» there is nothing chintzy about this complex dish, believe me. As sure as I usually am about my first course, I seem to have a hard time deciding on my second. There are just so many choices! The Thai Comedy is hilarious. Seriously though, this tempting offering is a combination plate of succulent BBQ pork, crunchy Som Tam(green papaya salad) and some sticky rice to tie it all together. Another option is Rama Bathing in Emeralds, or as it’s transcribed here, Rama Long Song. This meat-and-veggies-drenched-in-peanut-sauce dish is sure to take your breath away. You can also find your favorite curries and stirfries here, as well as some nice vegetarian dishes like Massaman Tofu with peanuts and potatoes. Sadly, my favorite veggie dish, Sad Uncle(a spicy eggplant stirfry so named because the sauteed eggplant slices are so droopy they look like frowns) appears to have gone AWOL from the menu as of late. But when you try what Thai Spice has to offer, you definitely won’t be a stranger.

Talk about spicy! After a couple of hours of roller skating, I worked up a nice little appetite and was craving green papaya salad. Like a good little Unilocaler, I used the Unilocal app on my BB to find the nearest Thai restaurant on Parker and ta-da, Thai Spice. I loved the bamboo chairs and really enjoyed how quiet and clean the place was but also liked that it was uncluttered. Jared and I shared the papaya salad(super spicy and we only ordered a 3), the Ke Mow noodles and some bamboo, garlic, chicken dish. I really enjoyed everything except the bamboo dish but I think it’s because I don’t really love bamboo shoots. You would think this would keep me from ordering them all the time but my small brain doesn’t always work this way. Oh well.

I think I have only had pad thai here but I’m going to start ordering it without eggs. The entire thing tastes so egg-y. :(. The dude had drunken noodles which were so-so but he claims all the curries here are a mazing. It is a little more expensive than most other thai places. We also had some appetizers, spring rolls and golden puffs which I didn’t sample but appreciated their name. Their thai iced tea was signifigantly cheaper than most other places but it is kind of blandy. The service was spot on, water glass never lower than half full. Oh and whats the deal with Tom Yum soup being so danged expensive?

Thai Spice is delicious. I’ve enjoyed my food every time I’ve eaten from here, which is on a somewhat regular basis. I prefer to get take out. From my experiences eating in, the service has been pretty poor. One server for a restaurant just doesn’t cut it. Even though the food is always good, it’s not always quite the same. Sometimes my thai fried rice with chicken has cucumbers and cilantro, sometimes it does not. I’ve had fried rice with just vegetables a couple times as well. It seems they just toss in whatever they have within reach. Eggrolls are great, especially with that sauce they come with. Yum. Aside from the slow service inside though I’ve been satisfied with everything. Truly a great place for some tasty thai food.

Best Thai Food in Denver, period. I have been to Thailand and this is the only place in town that compares. I dream about their Pad Thai and also love their curries and soups. Mmmm… They do have the aforementioned service hiccups because they have such small staff and sometimes, during the dinner rush, their phone will be busy, but keep calling and you’ll get through. Or just go there and pick it up — it’s worth it! Now, if they could just be open on Sundays…

After trying a couple of other popular Thai places, I’d say this is the one I like the most. For starters, the owners/cook are actually Thai, which I think helps. I judge Thai food by their Tom Yum soup, and this place has the best one I can find. Some restaurants do not use all the ingredients for their tom yum soup and the difference is really noticeable. Besides from the usual curry(which is also yummy), I ordered this fried fish dish the last time I went and it’s fantastic! I wish I remembered the name of that dish… I rated this a 5 star because after trying this place, I just don’t bother going to any other Thai restaurants in Denver anymore…

I’ve had a nasty little cold for the past week and thought I might be able to run it out of my system wit some really spicy Tom Kha soup. Well, Thai Spice certainly brought the heat and the soup was very tasty. The panang curry was ok. They have a dish on the menu that is called Sad Uncle, so of course I had to order it so that I could have the creepy pleasure of requesting Sad Uncle. Some therapy may be required, but this is a damn tasty dish. Three stars instead of four because the service was a little sloppy(stumbled out of the gate but got better later). Plus, we got one bowl of cold rice. Yeah that’s right– cold rice. Will most likely be back for the soup even though the cold is still camping out in my nasal passages.

I love how Thai food is constantly measured by its«authenticity.» It is a measure that is popular for ethnic foods — however, when it comes to fare that is «American,» hardly anyone would toss around authenticity as a criteria… like, this tofu burger is really authentic! or I want to get some authentic hot dogs… nope, I don’t hear that. My mother, who is from Thailand, happens to cater Thai food back in California. Her food is authentic. The food that I have eaten in the non-touristy areas of Thailand(that means not Banglapoo) is authentic. The food served in restaurants in the U.S. is not authentic. Sacrifices must be made to attract the pallates of the lowest common demonator — which means the food is made less complex, less spicy, and sweeter(yay for peanut sauce!). Given these authenticity sacrifices, I prefer to measure Thai food on whether or not it is yummy and Thai Spice brings out some of the yummiest Thai food I’ve had in Denver. Have you ever been to a restaurant where they ask you how spicy you want your food — you say as hot as possible — and they bring back some bland bs with less kick than taco bell? Well, Thai Spice will make your food super spicy. I’m talking butthole-on-fire-the-next-day spicy. So be forewarned… the chefs here don’t play. The menu is rather standard. A few special gems exist, such as the Radna, a rice noodle, broccoli and meat dish smothered in gravy. Very few restaurants offer this staple from my childhood. Another favorite is the som tum(green papaya salad). I’ve enjoyed everything that I have ordered and plan to go here again and again.

Really good food, very authentic thai. Their panang curry is the best I have tasted. But Please watch out if you arrive a minute too close to closing time. They are VERY eager to get out in the evenings and have been known to turn away business 15 minutes before 9:30(closing time)
