Horrible manners on the phone. I called in for a delivery order and was put on hold after I had placed the order. When the lady picked up after my holding period she had no idea who I was or what I needed. I told her I «thought I had already ordered», and she said sarcastically, «you THINK?!». I told her I had already placed my order and we finally figured things out. As we were finishing up the phone9ne conversation and I was in the midst of saying«Thank you», when she hung up. Classy guys. l, classy.

Stopped by here for lunch with a co-worker. Thai food sounded great. They do everything on the cheap here. We both had pad thai. The noodles were very stretchy. I’ve never had pad thai with stretchy noodles before. The food came quickly. The service wasn’t friendly, but it was efficient. We both disliked out food, but took boxes of leftovers with us. I threw mine away.

Bummed out by my lunch experience here yesterday. I was just looking to get away from my desk for a bit, have some alone time, read, and have a nice lunch. It turned out to be a really uncomfortable outing and I probably won’t return to this location because of it. I came in around 12:30, hoping to miss the brunt of the lunch rush. Nope. Because I was alone, they sat me at the bar, which is also the To-Go pick-up area. As I sat at the bar, the server/bartender quickly took my order and got me some water. I got out my book and waited for my soup and spring rolls. As I sat there, people began to crowd around me to pick up their to-go orders and got all up in my business. Actually bumping into me while they waited for their orders. Seriously? As the server/bartender, I would have directed people to maybe form a line or group together at the end of the bar rather than crowd the person sitting at the bar. When I finally got my food, the soup was really small and the spring roll order, which used to be two rolls, is now just one, cut in half. The server never gave me any silverware-luckily the soup came with a spoon-and I had to ask for a napkin. My water went unfilled for most of my meal. I was THE only one sitting there. He sat and watched as I pulled out my cash to leave a tip… making me feel like I had to leave a bigger tip than I thought was deserved. Needless to say, this was not a little bit of respite from my desk. It turned into a $ 9.00 disappointing, crowd-fest…no thanks.

swing thai-i miss the Fish Cakes from appetizer menu! i am not quite sure when they left, but i would love to see them on the menu again! it has never been busy when I’ve visited this location, and it is super quiet, makes dining conversation a bit awkward… the food is pretty good, and service is nice and also pretty quiet. hah. i shall return at some point. 15.00 minimum is kinda steep for delivery, and please consider bringing back those wonderful Fish Cakes! *All of the curry dishes here RULE*

I’ve traveled to Thailand and have been to some awesome Thai restaurants in the US… sadly, this is not one of them. A few colleagues and I put in to-go orders to pick up for lunch and this place is in an awkward location in Jet Hotel such that you either have to walk through the front lobby of the hotel or walk behind the hotel down an alley passing a couple dumpsters on the way. Given that we got our food to-go, this review is based strictly on the food. Looking to eat something light, I went with a traditional Thai dish that I love — Green Papaya Salad($ 6.95) and added shrimp(+ $ 2.75). Though there were about 6 decent sized and well cooked shrimp, the dish as a whole was average and the portion size was much smaller than I was used to. It didn’t have that crisp freshness and bright flavors that I normally experience, just an overwhelming feeling of mediocrity. My colleagues ordered the Pad Thai, the«Swing Special», and BBQ Thai Herb Chicken. Their sentiments were neither impressed or terrible, but rather«just okay». They also found the portion sizes to be surprisingly small. The food seemed to be resoundingly average… not bad, not great, somewhere lost in the middle. With that said, based entirely on the food and not having a full dining experience in the restaurant, I do have not strong desire to return here… but with enough persuasion, I would eat here again because the prices are very reasonable.

I was a little skeptical of Swing Thai from the get-go; as a lover of Thai food both in Thailand and elsewhere, the«fusiony» vibe of this restaurant signaled that the dishes may not taste akin to the authentic dishes of which I am fond. However, I was coming with a group and dinner wasn’t on my dime, so I was open to finding things I liked at this free meal. I ordered a seafood dish that came loaded with bell peppers and an unusual spice that looked like fresh(e.g. not dried; on the«vine») peppercorns. The seafood also seemed quite fresh. The sauce was much too sweet for my taste, but I did appreciate the interesting spicing. I also ordered a mango mojito, which was also painfully sweet, so much so that I couldn’t drink much of it. I feel like the folks at Swing Thai are working with good ingredients, and if everything wasn’t sugared up for the pre-diabetic American palate, the food here would be quite tasty. However, if you like a firm distinction between your entrees, drinks, and dessert, you might want to pass on this spot.

I was thinking maybe 4 stars but I’m going to average out to a 3 and you’ll hear why. A girlfriend and I were craving some Thai food and decided on Swing Thai for a quick lunch. I had been there once before so I felt confident about the food. I ordered the Medium Chicken Garlic dish and my friend ordered the Medium Chicken and Shrimp Pad Thai. The food arrived very fast, maybe too fast. We devoured the food as if we had been starving for a week. It was the perfect balance of spiciness, veggies, chicken, rice, and the garlic sauce of love. We both really enjoyed the«eye candy» that came and asked us how our meal was. I’ll take him on a plate please! The three star review is because my friend was super sick the day after with all the food poisoning symptoms. I won’t go into details. Don’t know what happened since the food tasted delicious and I feel fine. I’m going to average out at three stars and hope this is a one time occurrence. I will be back since I love Thai food and this place is super close to my office. I’ll give you another chance Swing Thai — maybe you were having a bad day… I hope so.

I placed an order [Chicken Pad Thai with a spring roll on the side!] for pick up and arrived a few minutes before my lunch was ready, so i sat at the bar to wait. Upon arriving back to my office, I opened my lunch to find half the order missing. In paying the extra $ 2 for the spring roll, and NOT having it in my lunch, i was a little annoyed. I didn’t have the time to run back down there to call them on their mistake and just figured«oh well, i’ll be sure to check the order before leaving next time». The next thing i knew, Swing Thai called my work, apologized for their mistake and hand delivered the spring roll they had forgotten. I was floored because most restaurants wouldn’t care to deliver a $ 2 item to anyone, but Swing Thai went above and beyond to make sure i got my entire order… even though they had to deliver it. wow :)

This place can be hard to find because it is inside the Jet Hotel. My friends didn’t like that you either had to enter through the hotel lobby or through an alley to get to the front door of the restaurant but I think it’s kind of cool. The three of us were very hungry and this place did not disappoint. We had the Red chili with chicken(Thai hot), Green chili with beef(Hot), Pad Thai with calamari(medium) and the Swing Combo with shrimp(Hot). We had steamed white rice to go with our food. The food was all delicious and the portions were pretty large. All for an average of $ 10 per plate. My only complaint is the Thai hot was NOT Thai hot. It was like the regular hot, which is probably more spicy than it needs to be for most people. However, having been in Thailand, when I was told the dish would be Thai hot… I was expecting Thai hot! This is not a big deal for most people but I like spicy food. And for the record, although the level of spice varies, your food is not hot for the sake of being hot. There is lots of flavor in the spice so don’t think the food will lose taste quality if you order it very spicy. The only strange feature(if you can call it that) of this place is that there is no music of any kind being played for ambiance… none! They have speakers in the ceiling but they were not in use for any purpose when we were eating here on a Saturday night. Maybe something was broken? Overall a great restaurant. Will be back for sure.

Unilocal gets this right with a 3.5 star rating. I had lunch here today. We took the back alley entrance to the restaurant and skipped traipsing through the Jet hotel. It is quicker, but there is no hostess, so you kinda just stand in the doorway until someone takes you to a table(hate that!). We popped in around 11:30 and it was pretty quiet. I had the drunken noodles, medium hot with chicken. It was a good size portion and the heat was just right. I thought the chicken had a bit of a reheated taste, but I could be being particular(I can always taste when chicken is reheated!). I would definitely come back for the food, although I might go take out next time. Service was slow once it picked up. It took forever to get the check and then pay. Still, it was a tasty Thai lunch and the cozy atmosphere was nice enough! I would go back.

The one minor problem with Swing Thai is that the entrance is incredibly hidden. I tried to go here around 8 pm one night but the I couldn’t find the entrance. Anyway, the entrance is towards the back of the Jet Club(which you walk through), so it can be kind of awkward if you go at night time. Not a deal breaker though. As far as food, we started with 2 spring rolls. The spring rolls tasted pretty standard — nothing to write home about. Swing Thai’s m
