Star Salon

I have really tense muscles with knots and usually scream bloody murder when massaged too hard. Well for this place I grinned and bearded it. I’m a bit sore the next day which is probably good for how tense my muscles have always been. Overall a REALLY GOOD Massage and I’d definitely go back. Really good Christmas present we received off of cloud 9 living. Also the giant Victorian house this is in, is super awesome… A free glass of wine, snacks and chocolate were a nice way to be welcomed.

I was lucky enough to meet Amanda after a scheduling mixup, and I’m so glad I did! She gave me a great haircut, was super precise and really good at listening to what I wanted. She also told me about their keratin treatments, and since I have grey hair how it might help some of the frizz I’m always battling.
I’d thought about keratin before, since I’ve been going prematurely gray since my teens, but I’d gotten scared off by stories of people losing all their hair. She answered all my questions, sent me a FAQ email, and I decided to take the plunge– I’m so glad I did! The process was so quick and simple, and I can’t believe what my hair looks like now! It’s so smooth and shiny and soft and manageable– its’ the hair I always wanted but never thought I could have! Thank you so so so so much Amanda!

It was my first time dyeing my hair. Felt a mixture of nervousness mingled with excitement. New town, new salon, new stylist but Laura didn’t let me down. When the color barely showed due to my stubborn black hair the first time round, Laura rescheduled me a couple of days later. The second time is a charm and I am happy to welcome a new year with a new look ! Thank you Laura!

I’m trying to find the card of the incredible person who blew dry my hair and gave it a trim. I was rushing to the airport and must’ve dropped it. anyway I’ll add her name when they open on Tuesday cause I want to make another appointment with her this week. She’s amazing! I saw her picture here – It’s Elizabeth. She;s fast and knows what sh’s doing.

I have seen Cole Cornejo a couple times now for eyebrow waxing and shaping. She does a wonderful job! She really takes her time in order to ensure your best look. She also will give you tips for what you can do to maintain your look at home. Her space is quiet, calming and relaxing as well. I would highly recommend her!

Shaun is a hair genius! I’m a pixie girl, new to Denver, deeply grieving one of the most important relationships in a gal’s universe-​my stylist! When I mushroomed out enough and couldn’t stand it, Shaun was my random 1^st try and I’m thrilled. Shaun – I bow down to you Hair God!

I have been seeing Amanda Sutphin for 2 years and she is AMAZING and immensely talented. It is so hard to find a stylist to dye my hair red, but Amanda is an expert. Her hair cuts are always on point and she is so great to talk to while I’m in the chair – a gentle, caring soul. If you want amazing red hair, come see Amanda!

Shaun was amazing! So friendly and really took his time to make sure both the cut and blow dry were perfect. I will definitely be back!

I was in desperate need of a hair color, which hadn’t been touched since May (yay post grad life). I deferred to Unilocal,and saw that this place had 5 stars, so decided to give it a try.
I am going to agree with the fellow reviewers.
Star is in walking distance from my apartment, it’s handicapped accessible (a beautiful building!), and the staff rocks! My stylist, Elizabeth talked with me about what I wanted, asked me some questions and explained what she thought was best. In the past, although I liked where I got my hair done, I would defer to my stylist and always ended up wishing it was blonder but it was too much of a pain to go back.
Elizabeth knew exactly what I wanted, and although I had booked a «full highlights» appointment, she told me we could get by with a partial, and ended up charging me less. She also did a great job washing and styling my hair and provided an amazing, lengthy scalp massage which was awesome! We also chatted the entire time, which was fun, but not forced or awkward
I don’t even remember the last time I found a salon I loved so much, right after moving somewhere, but Star Salon has won me over! Thanks so much Elizabeth, I will be back :)

Just moved to town and Star Salon was recommended by my property manager. Could not be happier with my cut from Elizabeth. Received several compliments and it continues to look better and better as it grows out. I will be back.

Booked an appointment with Jenny based upon the Unilocal reviews — I am new to the area and was searching for a new stylist. She is awesome. Friendly. On time. She suggested a new color for my hair (which I love and has lasted longer than the other salon I have been going to for over a year). I’ve already booked my 2^nd appointment!

First off I would like to say that I was absolutely impressed with this salon when I first called to ask about pricing for a bang trim and clean-​up but not a full cut. I called numerous salons before this and all of them would charge me a full haircut when I didn’t see a full hair cut as necessary. This changed when I called Star Salon.
The receptionist was incredibly friendly on the phone and was SUPER helpful in answering my questions. They charge $ 10 for just a bang trim for non-​clients (totally reasonable), and free for existing clients. She told me that each stylish has their own pricing for cuts, etc. and she would ask the stylists how much they would charge to clean-​up my hair. She then promised to call me back with more information in a couple hours (which she did). We settled on $ 20 for a bang trim and clean-​up (definitely do-​able). I was extremely impressed by her efforts to meet my needs and follow up. She definitely went the extra mile and it showed.
I made an appointment with Laura Prescott and I have to say that she exceeded my expectations. Not only was she super friendly and carried a conversation well, she executed what I wanted perfectly. She took the time to ask me about my hair, get a feel for it and what the other stylists usually do (mini consult). I told her to go to town with the thinning shears, she did just that and my hair came out perfect. I’m VERY picky when it comes to my bangs and she cleaned them up quite nicely and maintained my signature bang flip at the end (without me even asking her to do so). Overall I had a fantastic experience.
I highly recommend this salon and will definitely be returning to Laura when the time comes for a full haircut!

Love this salon! Karen Cole has been doing my hair for over a decade. She is the shit! My cut and color always turns out amazing! Everyone there is very friendly and fun. Definitely not a stuffy salon. It’s hard to find great stylists and salons. This one is by far the best in Denver.

Okay, I’m leaving another review because I just can’t help it!!! After leaving Colorado and being gone for a year and half… My hair has only been touched twice (for a trim and a cut). I had not been able to find the right person to cut my hair the way Amanda at Star Salon has!
So today I came in… My hair grown back to what its original length (just like when Amanda first cut my hair over 2 ½ years ago).
It’s like time had never passed and Amanda and I caught up to where we had left off the last time I was in. She worked her magic as we chatted about what had happened the past year. She remembered how my hair can have a mind of its own, so she knew what techniques and tools she had to use. My hair danced a happy dance! I felt like I was home again!

I’ve been going to Star Salon for over three years now and I must say that Stacy is the best! She is consistent, friendly, professional and worth every penny.
I prefer a natural looking highlight for my long brown hair and Stacy accomplishes this every single time. She’s perfected my cuts too. It’s taken me a long time for me to find a stylist who just inherently knows what I want and understands my taste… I don’t know what I would do without her!

New in town and Jenny came recommend by a local friend and I am so glad I found her! She has a great personality, fun to talk to and she did a great job on my hair! I always have a hard time describing what I want and she knew what to do with having to say much. I will definitely be coming back!

Just can’t say enough good things about this place. Reviewed it when I moved here a year ago and it continually impresses me. They remodeled and created more space so more fantastic stylists. It’s drama free, super open and friendly salon. I recommend all of my friends and acquaintances to go here and they all love it as well. All stylists are amazing but I LOVE Jenny — she is phenomenal with color and even saved my hair from when I let a student cut mine. She is quick, precise and doesn’t miss a thing. I am beyond happy every time I leave and always look forward to going back. Oh and the owner is absolutely amazing too — she is always so nice and you can tell she runs a great company. I’ve been coming to Star Salon for three months now. Elizabeth Rivera is my stylist.
I love what she does for me. She’s personable, witty, and listens to my needs. She gave me some constructive criticism too and helped take my drab buzz cuts to a new more professional easy to care for look. On a side note. She gives an amazing scalp massage during shampoo’s too!
The rest of the staff is friendly, the place is clean, and they play great music to boot.
This will be my «go-​to» salon every three weeks for as long as I can imagine.

They now offer facials, waxing, etc. Keeps getting better.

Amanda is the color guru! She mixed up a color combo that was so perfect! Don’t get me wrong she can cut and style some hair too. I have finally found a salon that can do it all! I LOVE my hair and will continue to go back.
Jenny was fantastic! My best friend has curly hair and Jenny is a specialist when it come to those curly mops! She picked the perfect color for her hair and cut it expertly so she can wear it curly and straight!
