Not that this is generally open to the public but as part of Doors Open denver we were able to take a guided tour through this facility… Build in 1926 it has a very distinctive architecture… always as piqued my interest as I cruise by on 13th Ave… Hi-Lites are: 1.The Mysticism that surrounds the masonic Fraternity… to be a member of the Scottish Rite you have to achieve the rank of Master Mason… 2. The Dome… it was designed for maximum amplification in a period when electric microphones were not in existence… the sound qualities in this room are amazing… see the pics. 3. The organ is of great note… it is huge and basically built right into the building. Pretty amazing for 1926… its kimball btw. 4. Just getting in the front doors and getting a small taste of its like inside… somewhat austere but nicely appointed in the features that are obvious. 5. Learning about the Philathropic efforts of the Free Masons/Shriners and associated groups renews my faith in the good of man… these folks are dontaing time and means worth $ 1 million/day across America! Thats good news… Does it make me want to run out and ask to join? Naw… but hey, it made me realise it wasnt a cult!
