This place is a hidden gem. The food was excellent, the people were great and they had great music playing. Will definitely be back!

We went to this place with a group of friends. The owner did make sure we are happy and satisfied with our choices of orders, even though they were busy they gave us enough attraction to make us feel welcomed. I definitely will visit them again. Also I’m so happy to know that, they take orders for parties.

Going out for Uzbek was a new experience, but if you have had Russian or Mediterranean cuisine, it will be familiar. When we arrived, there was a large space in the middle of the restaurant for a dance floor, and there was a stage. I was worried, but the server said we were fine and sat us. The beer selection was limited to Stella Artois, but the food was fantastic. The soups were hearty, the appetizers were lovely, and the lamb was some of the best I had in a long time. It is a wonderful place.

This place was amazing! We got the lamb kebob, dumpling soup and rice pilaf. They were all delicious! Will be back to try the other dishes.

My family has taken out time poking into all of the ethnic restaurants on Parker road. This place is a gem. I shared the manti, plov and sambosa. Fantastic! Hot, fresh, and beautifully presented. The special chicken dish was good, but not special. For something different, try this restaurant.

This place is so brilliant. The lamb Kebab was among the best I’ve ever had. They take a while but they make it fresh for the coal barbecued roast. Just delicious! The samsas were okay, but I have never had samsa before so I haven’t got any basis. Their roasted potatoes are to die for, pretty sure they roast them with lamb fat or goose fat, doesn’t get any better than that. Highly recommended, tastes very authentic.

We had chicken dish and a beef kabob and soup. Potatoes are the best I ever had, meat in soup was like rubber. Chicken dish was not that tasty beef kabab tasted better but it took a while for food to come. Overall not that impressed.

We are from Uzbekistan so we know our Uzbek food. This place was delicious! Better samsa than my grandmas’(shhhh don’t tell them I said that). The plov was wonderful too! And if you want an interesting culture experience — go on the weekends when it turns into a disco with middle aged Russians dancing to the tunes of ABBA and Queen.

I found this cool little restaurant driving along Parker Road through a very interesting and diverse part of town that’s a little off the beaten path but well worth the excursion. Restaurants, grocery stores, markets, services, and even clothing stores of a variety of ethnicities are all represented. Among them is Samarkand, an authentic Uzbek café that will transport you thousands of miles into the heart of Central Asia. I went in looking for Lagman, a noodle dish that I used to eat everyday when I was in the Peace Corps in nearby Kyrgyzstan. That was a long time ago and me and my fellow RPCVs have been combing our different US cities for years searching for this simple yet delicious and comforting noodle dish and I was the first to find it outside of NYC. It lived up to the wait and the whole experience took me back in time and space. Everything from the textile patterns to the music to the tea customs to the languages being thrown around the room created a no nonsense, pleasant and relaxed dinner and genuine little adventure.
