Salon Marjan

I just learned that my wonderful hairstylist Patty was let go by the owner of Salon Marjan for something that occurred while I was at my appointment with Patty last week. My appointments with Patty last between 3 ½ to 4 hours each time, because of the services I ask for and Patty’s attention to detail. During that time, many different kinds of styling tools are used, many of which involve heat, and make Patty’s work area a lot warmer. At my last visit, I was getting very uncomfortable and starting to sweat, which Patty noticed and she immediately went over to adjust the thermostat. The owner then immediately re-​adjusted the thermostat to the warmer level and interrupted Patty while she was working on my hair and told her never to touch the thermostat again. The owner did not care that I was very uncomfortable. I felt that the owner’s words were very rude and unprofessional. I will follow Patty wherever she goes!

I desperately needed a haircut and they got me in right away. Stunning interior with all the amenities. I was greated with a huge smile and welcome from the owner and given a glass of wine. Tim was my stylist and I couldn’t have been happier. Very good at what he does. I plan on making this my permanent spot and would recommend it to anyone. First time this guy has been pampered in awhile and I liked it.

I have FINALLY found not one, but two, people who are able to deal with my unruly cowlicks! Patty and Marjan are both quite skilled at addressing (and cutting) each lock individually, so that it falls the way i want it to fall. I’ve tried traditional hairdressers, and they always insisted on cutting my hair evenly when wet (but when the curls dry, the curlier side looks uneven and too short). And i’ve tried that Deva curl system and MOP Factory Salon, but i think they work better on perfectly shaped pincurls (not my haphazard S curls that go in many different directions). Patty and Marjan are both talented and knowledgeable enough to do an initial cut when my hair is dry, so they can see how the wave will fall. They perfect the cut after washing and drying, and my pointing out what i like and don’t like. It can be tedious, but they get it done, and get it done right. The other comments are true, sometimes there can be delays for your appointment. Although that seems to be an occupational hazard in this business, and these two are definitely worth the wait!

I’ve been meaning to write a review for a while. While I think Marjon is talented, her customer service skills are terrible and unprofessional. The customer is not right, she is. She is opinionated and was consistently late for appointments from ½ hour to an hour only to blame it on her previous customer. She even blamed me. She constantly answered and talked on the phone while doing my hair. Sometimes leaving me sitting for 5 – 20 minutes. These were mostly personal calls. You can’t tell her she did something wrong as she does not accept any criticism. She turns it around and blames it on you. I had an all over color and it was nothing like what we discussed. It was too light for my skin tone and my eyebrows were to dark. She told me my eyes just had to adjust because it was so drastic, so I gave it a couple days and just didn’t like it. Came in a coupe days later telling her I didn’t like it and she attempted to fix it which was now too dark then she said my eyes adjusted to the new color and it looks darker. Not to mention she charged me again. Then she said how pissed off she was to spend so much time on my hair to change it again and complained about me to her next customer that was sitting on her chair about me right in front of me. That was it. I will never go back or recommend anyone to her. Previously I referred several friends there who no longer go there. She talks negatively about her employees there and she brags about herself constantly. Big ego and know it all. Never experienced such unprofessionalism.

Well, I thought this would become by go-​to hair salon, but I guess not. I called today to make an appointment for a haircut, but was denied service due to my «angst» with my previous service.
I am absolutely astounded by this, as I left an overall positive review here. But apparently, you cannot tell Marjan that you were disappointed, even politely and privately, or she will ban you from her salon. As such, I cannot leave my formerly positive review any longer.
(and in response to the owner comment — I never asked you to come in early. I told you the time of my photo shoot and you told me what time to come it. I also showed you photos of what I wanted when I booked the appointment, so this «upgraded service’» is BS. If your apprentice couldn’t do it, you shouldn’t have booked it. Extremely unprofessional in retrospect)

Marjan is the best! Excited to have found such a great salon within walking distance to my home.
The salon has really modern equipment, great refreshments and knowledgeable staff. As long as Marjan is around, I won’t be going anywhere else.

I had an amazing experience at Salon Marjan! Patty was my stylist and she was so nice and welcoming. Before cutting my hair she asked me many questions to make sure she knew exactly what type of style I wanted. Everyone who worked there was very friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Amazing, relaxing, friendly, wonderful! Ask for Keven. He can work wonders with any type of hair. Relaxer, color, cut, perm, you name it. He truly has healing hands. You also have to try his amazing pedicure!
