Love, Love the people that worked there — they were very friendly and helpful since it was our first time there. The food was okay — but I’m not sure I’d come back and pay the price that we paid for our food. It was simple and fresh but the portion was just okay and the taste was just okay as well. The location is a little bit hard to find — it’s below street level. It is great for people watching — if more people came by. I don’t think we’d go back unless we were in the area(though we do live downtown) and wanting some fresh«Asian inspired» food from a great staff.

Last week I got a take-out order of phở(#6 rare steak and brisket). In a nutshell, it was OK. The broth wasn’t the most flavorful I’ve ever had, but it wasn’t bad(although maybe a tad too salty). Personally, I thought there was way too much noodle for the amount of broth I received, but I suppose I didn’t have to put it all in ;-) The amount of meat was fine, but my main gripe is that the amount of herbage I received(basil and cilantro) was very skimpy. Fortunately I had both in my fridge to make up for what I wanted in the soup. If I pick up phở from here again, I’ll ask for a little more. While I didn’t dine in, the service I did receive for the take-out order was fine and the staff seemed efficient. I stopped in well after the lunch hour(probably around 3 or so) so there weren’t many diners at the time. There were several tables that needed bussing, but generally the place looked clean. I might be inclined to eat in sometime.

Had the chance to stop here again because I was visiting friends in the area. Happy to see them busy on a Monday evening! My older lady server was definitely rushed and rude, but I still received everything I needed, even if I had to ask twice. She seemed flustered with the dinner rush. But, a very sweet boy(high school age?) Was making rounds, trying to fill in. After I noticed this, I just asked him for what I needed. I shared the empress chicken with my daughter, perfect for sharing with a toddler. I LOVE the spiciness of this dish, but since I was sharing with my kid I asked for mild. No worries because I was delighted to find that this wonderful entrée has such amazing flavor without the spice covering it up!!! We both ate everything!!! I ordered some crab rangoons to go, and they are HONESTLY the best I’ve ever had. Wonderfully crunchy, but dense wontons, absolutely devoid of grease. I’ve never had that with a rangoon. Also, I can’t be sure, but I think they might actually use real crab in these… Bottom line, if you’re a whiny American that needs to be coddled and pampered by your server, try Capital Grille. However, if you want some great«asian» food, served efficiently and with a little flare of asian discontent for Americans, this is the spot :-) Stop whining about bad service and be thankful that you have this wonderful takeout spot by your house, I wish we had this in the Boulder area. Food is perfect.

edit– Now 1 star. Delivery kills this place. I unfortunately broke my foot, and I am in a cast and crutches. Last week I ordered some Phở and a few other things and the delivery driver didn’t give a hoot that I’d have a hell of a time going down and carrying my food up to my apartment. I ended up giving up after the conversation got nowhere and managed to navigate my crutches, cast, and food back up to my place. Fast forward to today, ordered the same Phở, got the same delivery driver. Apparently he hasn’t gotten the hint as he just kept saying«in the office» when I was trying to explain my situation to him yet again. I don’t order food so that I have to struggle any more than I already am, or to have to get dressed. If you can’t bother to hire someone to take an extra 2 minutes to come to my door, then your place isn’t worth my business. Get serious about who you hire to go to people’s homes, and I’ll consider ordering again. Original review– Ordered Saigon Terrace after seeing the glowing reviews here. It was our first time trying it, so we ordered a variety of stuff. Now, on to what you are really reading this for… Delivery was on time and ordering was super simple here through Unilocal.I was pleased to have the delivery driver call to ask me if he would like for me to come up to my door to bring my food, or if he wanted me to meet him downstairs. My motto when ordering delivery, is that I don’t order delivery to get dressed to go anywhere, so I opted to have him come up. The gentleman was extremely pleasant, and told me a little bit about the food as I signed my receipt. As I took our(rather large) order from him, he stood there with a look of concern as I wedged my door open to bring the food in, despite having a 100lb+ German Shepherd there, he asked if I needed any help. I declined, and noted his generosity. Our order consisted of the Flu Shot Phở«Phở Dac Biet» which is basically their supreme version of Phở. The broth was delivered in your usual soup container and was piping hot, the accoutrements were delivered in your typical styrofoam container and included actual beautifully wrapped raw steak in order to preserve its freshness and tenderness. I knew here that I was in for a delightful surprise when unpacking the rest of our order. The ingredients were of the utmost freshness, and it made for a great meal on its own for us to share. As this is my first time ordering here, I don’t think I would order the Flu Shot again before trying out their standard offerings as I found the soup a little bit too sweet and sour for me. This is not a fault of the broth, as it was beautifully seasoned and layered, this is personal preference. Our next dish were the eggrolls and cream cheese crab puffs. I have never, ever seen such a beautiful presentation with simple eggrolls. The eggrolls themselves were extremely flavorful and were served with a very nice dipping sauce. The vegetables and simple noodles which accompanied them just send them over the top, and made for a home-dining experience that would rival most typical main dishes. The vegetables were meticulously placed in the container beautifully providing a bed for the eggrolls without becoming wilted or warm. The Cream Cheese Crab Puffs were obviously hand made and never frozen. The cream cheese popped with flavor like I have never experienced from any other chinese restaurant. The wrappers were also beautifully done, and came with your typical sweet and sour sauce. We chose Sesame Chicken as our«wild card» dish, and chose«medium» on the heat. In hindsight, we should have chosen a hotter option during checkout, but that is our fault. We noted no hint of «spiciness», but the chicken itself was fresh, tender, fried and sauced to perfection. It had a beautiful stickiness to it which you rarely get at other places where you would often find this dish to have a bit of a greasiness to it, but not here. Anyhow, I really, really look forward to trying this place again. I think next time will be the Gen. Tso’s Chicken and a standard Phở with Beef balls or Chicken. Thank you for reading my long-winded review, and I hope that if you choose Saigon Terrace, that you have a pleasant meal!

Whenever I try a new Chinese food place, I like to order the kung pao chicken. It is one of my staples and I feel you can gauge how good a place is on this dish. When I went to order the food online, their website kept stating that they were closed, even though it was after noon. I tried calling the 2 numbers listed on their site. One sounded like a fax machine. The other stated that the number had been disconnected. I really had a hankering for some kung pao, so I drove down to their restaurant and they were open. As I walked in the doorway, the phone was ringing. I felt like I was in the twilight zone. I told the hostess about the website and phones numbers. She just looked at me like I was crazy and became very rude. Whatever, I wanted kung pao. At this place you can order how hot you want it. No spice, mild, medium, spicy and extra spicy. I went for the extreme and ordered extra spicy. After all, it was kung pao chicken. They handed my food to go, and I went back to work. As I started to eat the kung pao, expecting my mouth to burn, I was very surprised. It wasn’t hot at all. It was about a mild spicy. The chicken was tough and the flavor was bland. So disappointed. After speaking to other co-workers who have tried this place, they all said the same thing. No spice, and no flavor. I won’t be going back to Saigon Terrace. This was just an overall bad experience.

The food is good, the service is good, but for some reason they sit all of the people eating alone against the wall away from everyone else. It feels like a wall of shame.

This is a tough call for me between 4 and 5 stars; in reality it’s probably a 4.5 — but for being a place in my ‘hood that serves phở?! Yes, you have my attention and my respect. In the interests of brevity(for once), feel free to read Kate G’s review about their«flu shot phở». I’d pretty much mirror that. Have them give the«flu shot» treatment to the«phở dac biet», which is their«super combo» version — tripe, beef ball(read: meatball), rare steak and flank. My one regret is they don’t mess with tendon here — I am not sure why, because tendon can be delicious as well. Their broth is above average to begin with; the«flu shot» treatment makes it that much better. I’ve been trying to «deconstruct» their recipe and have experimented making phở at home getting close to their recipe; after consulting 6 or so phở recipes online and trying to make amazing phở broth. [I don’t think you can get there via beef broth powder; and I tried with a can that I got in a store off SoFed]. I might be wrong but I’d almost swear they use a light amount of chili oil in theirs — it floats on top and looks like the stuff in PF Chang’s chili oil containers. I got some recently; we’ll see how close I get this time. Always very friendly service; and I am usually taking it all home to consume(it’s 1 huge meal, or 2 still pretty-large satisfying meals, for $ 9 – 10); they bag it up very professionally. No problems asking for extra hoisin sauce or other things. The place itself is fairly quiet and a bit shadowy, although they do have a TV on at times. They do deliver, but it’s a $ 15 minimum. I see that being abused a lot potentially when winter comes. Regretfully, they stuck a sign in their window over the summer and because of staffing shortages, they are CLOSED Sundays now. So much for NFL Sundays where you want something a bit different to nom. At any rate: their consistency over a half-dozen visits is what lets them topple into the 5-star rating range. I have eaten at better phở places, yes; but nevertheless these people provide great service at an inexpensive price for delicious food… kudos, ST.

Came for a mid week, I’m tired, I don’t want to cook pick me up. We order the viatnamese egg rolls and PHOGA. We were missing our favorite place in Irvine, CA. I remembered this place was pretty good. We very much enjoyed the egg rolls, the mix of spices, pork and rice noodles. They were crispy without being oily. Our soup had a nice rich broth that soothed our mid week headaches and made our bellies happy! We’ll be back again soon.

I had their egg rolls, small wonton soup, large hot and sour soup and beef with garlic sauce delivered this evening. Wonton soup was good, I think I tasted something fragrant such as lemongrass? The portion for small soup($ 2.50) was the smallest portion of take out soup I have ever seen from any Asian restaurants. I think it was in 8 ounce container. My large hot and sour soup was a little too sweet and a little too vinegary. Saigon Terrace only filled the soup to ¾ full. Beef from beef with garlic sauce was a too tough. Egg rolls were good. Next time, I will just stick to their Vietnamese food and stay away from their mediocre Chinese food.

Anticipation got the best of me when reading the reviews for Saigon Terrace. It was a favorite in the 80’s and 10 yrs since my last visit. Crisp Vietnamese egg rolls, beautifully presented, heavenly pot stickers, and a Phở that my novice dinner guests enjoyed thoroughly. Vietnamese food is a top choice when I’m asked to select the dinner venue with friends. Now they think I’m nuts. How is it that I, the foodie, ended up with one of the most single disappointing soft shell crab entrées of my life? It looked so abundantly presented on a bed of fresh greens. I gave my two friends a crab to share and thought it odd when they shrugged and left most of it on their plates. Say goodbye to what I would call soft shell mush. The tiny little crab was engulfed in a doughy fritter batter that fought but lost the battle. After tearing open the doughnut and shredding the poor little crab from it’s confines my plate was a hill of discarded breading. This is just wrong! How could this great lil restaurant have done this to me?

The phở is flavorful and delicious. I would rank it over Phở on 6th and comparable to Phở-natic. I first came here for lunch with five co-workers and we were quickly seated. The service was fast and friendly, and the phở was hot, delicious and satisfying. I will definitely be back.

If the dine-in experience is anything like the delivery service then this business has it made. Abundance! Delivered straight to my home. Kung Pao Pork, crab and cheese wontons, sweet and sour soup, steamed rice, iced tea with lemon and a refreshing creamy coconut boba tea smoothie greeted me at the door! There was a lot of food, enough for two separate meals, for a great price! The service was quick. The delivery person all smiles. The overall experience from ease of ordering(through the Unilocal app) to payment to delivery to consumption was awesome. It was a one stop shop yo! A marvel of modern technology! If I were a shut in I would order from here several times a week. The food was hot and delicious. A full belly was the ultimate satisfaction reward. Thank you Saigon Terrace for this opportunity to gush about your business. Delivery is great. I assume dining in is better. Check them out. You’ll be super glad you did!

HELLLOOOOBROTH! For those of you who love and respect phở broth, you should probably bathe in this beautiful creation. First off, more Vietnamese joints need to have«combos» like this place does. You get phở of your choice, spring or egg roll, and a drink!!! Whattttt!!! Best deal ever!(Small print… it’s only $ 10!) I ordered the flu shot phở and wasn’t a fan… the broth was too sweet and not spicy like I expected. I asked for a side of regular broth and was blown away! It’s hard finding good broth, the struggle is really real. I couldn’t finish my phở as the portions are massive!!! Not only did the waitress/hostess strain the flu shot broth from my phở to take it home, she filled the container with the magic broth! She also mentioned that if I ever order and don’t like it that she will replace it! The spring roll, phở, thai iced tea, experience, service, and atmosphere all rocked my world… until next time Saigon Terrace!

That phở though. Working directly across the street from Saigon Terrace has been a blessing! They have a broth called the«flu shot» and any time I get a feeling that I’m coming down with something I go grab this tasty creation, and release my sinus pressure! Pretty average on the level of phở, but good prices, friendly staff, and nice accomidations have me giving them 4 stars instead of 3!

I just happened to be in the hood and was in dire need of some phở. From what I could tell from Unilocal this was an excellent place to get some deliciousness so I stopped in. Sure enough, I wasn’t disappointed. For being in a little strip mall, the phở packed a nice punch. First of all, the ambiance is very nice and welcoming. It’s got dark wood and lots of personality. The outside isn’t much to write home about but the inside is nice and cozy. Depending on the time of day parking could be an issue but if you time it right you’ll be good to go! Why only three stars? The service was not very good. I was waiting around for a long time just to get a menu and then, as soon as I was done with my meal my waiter was nowhere to be found. There were at least five other employees scuttling about and no one noticed me or offered to help. Hence, the three star rating. However, the phở is phenomenal. I think most times it comes down to the broth and this place has some of the best in town. I was so happy with the taste that I would for sure go back again. There are other menu items which seem like they would be good but when in the mood for phở — this is a solid go-to place.

NOTE: this order was delivered. not impressed. i was very sick and wanted some really good phở. what I got was a super sweet broth that was too sweet to eat… i think they gave me the wrong broth… either way, I can’t eat it.(sadly i ordered double) also …they must not read the special request sections when ordering through GrubHub, bc I got nothing I requested.ie. hot mustard for the crab wontons and extra sauce for the phở… pretty poor service. what asian restaurant doesn’t include hot mustard? oh and $ 1.75 for a can of soda? WTF. to top it all off, the delivery guy left my front gate wide open, even though I requested that he lock it upon leaving… poor food, poor over all experience. I will NOT order from these guys again. $ 50 waisted.

Saigon Terrace used to be a very small restaurant in a strip mall on the north side of Colorado Blvd. They have expanded the restaurant so now it is not hard to get a table. When we went around 8pm on a Saturday night it was very quiet inside with only two patrons. However, several more came as we ate. The restaurant is very clean with 20+ tables and a bar area. We started with the egg rolls fried in rice paper. Unlike a Chinese egg roll these come with the Vietnamese fish sauce, cilantro, lime, bean sprouts, carrot and lettuce. The egg rolls(6 in an order) were fried nicely and full of pork and other veggies. The accompaniments helped round out this tasty starter. As I was feeling under the weather I tried the flu shot phở, which has lemongrass and ginger. It was described by the waiter as sweet and sour with some spice. I tried that with beef ball and rare steak. At Saigon Terrace they only offer one size of phở, which is comparable to a medium or large at other Phở places. The broth was great(not too spicy) and different from a traditional phở broth that people usually add hoisin, siracha or both to to enhance the flavor. It came with the normal sides of cilantro, basil, lime, bean sprouts & jalapeño. I ended up taking home at least 1⁄3 of my Phở as I was so full. While not as hyped as other Denver Phở places I will definitely head back to Saigon Terrace for future meals. They also offer many other dishes such as Vietnamese pancake and stuffed tofu.
