I only shop here because it’s my closest grocery store. I prefer King Soopers, but I come to this store when I’m in a rush. To start, this store is often out of basic produce items — or the produce they do have is not very fresh. Some of the cashiers are friendly, but it seems they’re almost always short-staffed and the lines are usually long. I asked one time why they don’t have self-checkout lines, and the manager told me it’s because they have a problem with theft. Also, their hours on their website say they close at midnight, but they actually close at 11PM.(Again, the reason they don’t stay open later is because of their theft problem.)

This review is solely for the bakery. I ordered a cake for my son’s birthday and it turned out awful! We ordered a sheet size cake(which feeds approx. 90 people). I found a picture online that my son wanted on his cake. The bakery said it could be done. I double checked if it could be done on that size of cake, I was told it could. Well… when the cake arrived home for the party, it was not what I had discussed with the manager Julie when I ordered. The picture was not covering the entire cake; it was only covering the top left corner the size of a normal sheet of paper(8×11)! So mostly a bare white cake! The cake was falling apart too! The layers were not sticking together at all, and you could tell it was because the cake had been frozen. The flavor of the cake was great however, but we will never go to this bakery again for a cake.

To Casey, the cashier who says he is «exceptional» when you ask how he is – you, sir, are exceptional. It’s the little things, and that really made my day.

Wow, a Safeway with 5-stars! So, my last update was in February. Since then, the produce department has been pretty much awesome. Maybe they made a change in who is in charge of it, but its incredibly improved. Thumbs up! The meat department and the service they provide to the customers is unmatched. That may sound cliché, but no, I am being fully 100% honest. Mark in the meat department provides the ABSOLUTEBEST… the BEST… customer service I’ve ever experienced. Some manager or head honcho needs to talk to this guy and tell him thanks for being such a great employee. The various store managers that I’ve spoken with have all been extremely helpful. They never just tell me they’re looking into something or give me any sort of run-around. The store is just run well. Great quality of meats, produce, etc. Extremely helpful, courteous, and friendly employees. I’m moving to a new part of town. I’m going to miss this store, because I don’t know how often I will visit it in the future.

This is my closest neighborhood grocery store. I use this Safeway as the stopgap, ooh, I forgot the limes, or whatever I need place. The groceries are good, and produce is OK, not spectacular. One standout is I can get my Carvel Ice Cream Birthday Cakes here. They’ve disappeared from King Soopers, so I’m glad I can get them for celebrations. The downside is that all checkout lanes are manned, no self service. Although I like the concept, sometimes the lines can be very long. Otherwise, it’s a good place I can walk to, and get last minute items in a pinch.

My favorite local grocery store. The staff is friendly and helpful, the store is well stocked and clean. Their Pharmacy staff are friendly, I just wish they had self checkout lanes!

I like my neighborhood safeway store. The Pharmacy-has an auto re-fill for those monthly scripts you might have-and if you forget they give you a call on your celly letting you know you should stop by… and if you don’t…2−3 days later they will call you again…(for me this is helpful… I have ADD at times) The store itself I have found to be clean and fully stocked when I shop here… but then again I shop late night during the week as to not mix in with the weekenders. There always seems to be a wait here, and most times that doesn’t bother me one bit, I don’t might waiting… what I do mind is having someone else behind me who is always in a hurry because they are sooooo important, and then they sit and mumble and grunt about why it’s taking so long. I just don’t like shopping in general, but I never seem to have any issues here…

I am not what you would consider a grocery snob, although I work at Whole Foods. I usually shop at my work or at King Soopers. Today, I woke up feeling like I had been run over by a semi and as if I might purge at any moment(no…this was not a self induced illness). I needed to stop somewhere on my way to work. Safeway was closer and would bring more immediate relief, so I stopped. It was hard to find everything I was looking for; alka seltzer, soda, water and pain reliever. After much hurried wandering I found everything and was ready to check out. I approached the one land with the number lit up. No one seemed to be responsible for said available register. 3 employees were close by emptying the money from the Lotto machine. I asked the young blond guy if this lane is open. He grunted«yeah», and went back to his supremely important task; ignoring customers. The other guy standing by the machine looked over and made eye contact, looked back and stood for a while longer. The two guys walked off, to play thumb war or Jax or something else really important. At this point I had been waiting 5 minutes. Exasperated I asked the woman remaining at the Lotto machine if anyone was responsible for the register I had been idling at. She said«yes, let me just secure this money». So… it was her register all along and she just felt like ignoring me(and the 3other customers behind me)!!! She did not apologize about the wait or the obvious way in which she ignored customers. I understand it was early in the morning, but that makes it even easier to help the few customers who trickle in. People can say what they want about where I work, but there is never a time where a customer has to initiate being wrung up.
