Expensive. There’s a ok-ish walmart across the street with lower prices. Veggies aren’t that great. Long lines.

There are good days and there are NOT so good days shopping here. Well it all depends on the time and day you are here. My recent visit was with Hubs on Saturday June 22nd2013. Time was about 19:55hrs. We managed to get some items we needed from this SAFEWAY such as Ice Cream for Hubs, 2 Energy Bars, 1 Medication Item and 1 dessert item. On the printed receipt, it was stated that the Store Manager is Will Olsen. I could not find one certain cake. *SADFACE* Maybe because for one, when I was there its already the weekend. The Bakery section is already closed aka NO Staffs handling the bakery section. Will return ONLY if I could find that«mysterious» Chocolate Mousse Cake, I have been craving for. The Éclair I purchased from this SAFEWAY was underwhelming. *Another Sad Face* Oh well… *BIGMAJORSIGH* SAFEWAY 4884 Chambers Rd. Denver, CO80239 Tel:(303) 371‑1230 @139/2013

Awful. Droll staff, store, atmosphere. Seemingly high prices compared to the much superior king soopers. $ 8 for 2 pieces of cake? It’s worth a few more minutes down the street to soopers. Avoid this awful store and the curse someone cast inside it that made prices high and employees rude.

I go to this Safeway because its close to my house. Not sure what her name is but the lady who works in the floral/gift department is very nice. She greets everyone who comes near and is almost always smiling. Third time I went I didnt need any flowers but I went by just to chat… Its nice to meet people like that after a long tiring day of work…

My son and I stopped here on the way home from work to get some chicken for dinner. I was thinking of either roasting a chicken, or of buying a rotisserie chicken from the deli. There was one warm chicken left in the case… it was shriveled up to the point of looking like a little cadaver of a chicken, and there was NOONE around the deli. Anywhere. There were some COLD rotisserie chickens in the case… but I wanted to purchase dinner… one might think that a store would have cooked dinner items fresh for the dinner-buying rush-hour crowd. Nope. Even their fried chicken and other items in the case looked cremated and perhaps cooked around 10 am. I guess Tri County should give them a visit? I opted for some raw chicken out of the meat area to cook for my family. Also, the little fridges that hold«cold drinks» near the checkout lines are blowing warm air… inside. All of the drinks were the temperature of tepid coffee. Yum.

I like this Safeway for various reasons. First and foremost, it isn’t completely packed like the King Soopers in Green Valley Ranch. I can actually get in, get out, in a reasonable amount of time. Also, their prices are considerably lower then the other grocery stores in the surrounding area. Unfortunately, this Safeway isn’t in the greatest area, and I really do think Montbello has a bad rap, as I’ve never had any problems. There is an armed guard at the store entrance — safe shopping. They have a nice produce section, and I always find what I need and then some. Again, I must mention their prices and I’ve compared them with the King Soopers down the street and I always save $ 30 – 40 at Safeway, even with getting extras(dish soap, fragrance plug-ins, etc.). They have a nice meat selection for the meat eaters, and a decent vegetarian section for the non-meat folks(me). Also, they have lots of Hispanic foods, so if you are into those, this is a good place for you. I like this store, the people that work there, the people that shop there and I always feel safe. Oh, and they also have a Safeway gasoline area at this store. Good deal!

What a crappy Safeway. This place has nothing! The milk cooler is warm at best and the produce isle is always baron with only thing left is rotted fruit. I bought green beans there in a pinch, brought them home, putt them in the fridge and a day later they were covered in mold. The only thing that causes that is unsanitary conditions and it wasnt from me.
