Friday December 4th2015, we went here for Lunch coz the other establishment we want to go to, it was CLOSED on that day. *SIGH* Time was about 12 noon-ish. From their Menu, I opt to have the 2 Beef Empanadas and 1 Chicken Empanadas($ 5.25). My friend opt to have 2 Pupusas($ 4.00) and Tamale($ 3.00). We waited for our food to be ready since before us, there is a family waiting for their food to be ready. Hence do have patience. Since we are catching up, we don’t mind the wait at all. While we are waiting many more patrons entered this establishment and have their Lunch here. There have a private room located at the right wing of this establishment. From their Menu, there are plenty to choose from. Our server who is the ONLY one, running the tables, took our orders and other patrons alike was indeed welcoming. I bet this establishment is a mom and pop kind of establishment aka like the whole family runs the business. About 12:30hrs ish, then our food is ready. Overall its OK especially for me. I think next time I would order 3 Chicken Empanadas and 2 Beef Empanadas. The Empanadas are tasty but I prefer the Chicken way better than the Ground Beef. My friend enjoyed her Lunch coz she ordered the Pupusas and Tamales which were indeed filling for her and«dirt» cheap for her pocket books. All in all, I don’t mind returning hence with this 3STARS Generous review. Perhaps from there, my review might differ with other options that I want to try. Left this establishment about 13:12hrs ish. Restaurante El Tamarindo 7700 E. Colfax Ave, Denver, CO80220 Tel:(303)-320−5490 @2015

The service is not fantastic, but it is absolutely made up for by the incredible food! The foods are interesting and the flavors fantastic. This was by far some of the best food I’ve had in the area. I would definitely come back for such inexpensive delicious food!

Came in here on a whim one afternoon. The waitress was very friendly. I had never had Central American food before and was unfamiliar with the menu so she recommended that I get the Pupusas. They were so good!!! Got a beer and chips/salsa as well. All under 5 dollars. Great deal! Will definitely be back.

We are new to the area and trying out places. We went in around 1:30pm and it took almost an hour to get our food with little to no waiter help and only a few tables full. We ordered their house margaritas there was no tequila in the drink just sour. We let the waitress know and she said not a problem I will add more. The food came out with one plate way over cooked and the coconut seafood soup was inedible. We are still in a good mood trying to enjoy our Saturday. The bill came to $ 40 for two plates that were not good and additional shots added for our drinks at 5.50 a shot. Our margaritas came out to $ 13 a piece for a bottle sour/house tequila margarita I do not recommend this place to anyone. To many great places in Denver to waste your time.

This place is always so delicious! A must have meal when I am in Denver! The portions are big, the prices are cheap and the food is so good. Every time I go I bring someone new and they always enjoy their meal.

Some of the best Pupusas this side of Central America. We were the only patrons, which was surprising since this large establishment serves absolutely amazing food. We started out with empanadas, then worked our way up to the heavenly pupusas. We even ordered more to take back to the hotel room. Fantastico!

Worst service ever! I actually had high hopes for this place, but was disappoint! We stood at the entrance waiting for a table for 15 minutes. The worst part is that weren’t even busy. We just ended up walking out…

Horrible service, waiter said it would take 30 – 40 minutes for the food to come out before she even took our orders this female didn’t even come bak to actually take our for more than 20 minutes . We only got outlet drink, there was more people coming in and sitting for 10 minutes and they were getting their Order take and food being served doesn’t deserve almost five stars I’m sorry not sorry.

I am from California and obsessed with exploring good authentic Latin food in Colorado. This was just excellent food. We tried the guacamole, horchata to drink, enchiladas, empanadas, chile rellenos, pupusas with house made habanero sauce and cabbage salad. This place does not serve«Mexican» food but specializes in home made food from Central America. The hot sauce is not for the faint of heart but for those of us who love spice it’s exquisite. Get the beef enchilada but be warned its more like an open faced taco. Get a side of rice. Beg for fresh tortillas. The décor is well um it’s clean pretty basic. The service was great. The chips and salsa weren’t great. But really not a big deal.

We decided to check out this place based on my friend’s curiosity to see how it compared to her mom’s cooking. We decided to do the variety plate that served the 4 of us since it gave us a chance to try a little bit of everything and was a good deal too. We were all happy with the food and I would definitely go back. I wouldn’t say it was better than my friend’s mom’s cooking, but I would rank it right up there. The décor was below average, but I care more about how the food tastes than the environment it’s presented in. The service was friendly and attentive, so that is always a plus to me. Overall, I was happy with the experience and look forward to going back in the future whenever I’m in the area again.

Yum! Great food! We tried a few things on their menu. We went for my boyfriends birthday– his favoirte thing is tamarind so I thought this would be a great place. Only probelm– they do not have many dishes with tamarind in them :/ We were able to sample most of their vegetarian food as there was not too many choices. Everything we had was great especially the plantains. It is a cute place that I hope to return again soon.

Okay people… listen up. I’ve been driving by this place for two years and I finally walked in because I was waiting for some locks to be made by a near by locksmith and I was freak’n hungry. I had seen a lot of construction vehicles park out front and that my friend was all I needed. THISFOODISABSOLUTELYRIDICULOUSLYDELICIOUS! It is absolutely too cheap for the type of ingredients being presented so don’t be mad at me for suggesting a price increase but DAMMIT… it’s worth it. The décor can use a little help but that’s not what I’m there for. The staff is very friendly and service is great. So what are you waiting for… GO!

This building seems like it has been a revolving door of restaurants over the years. I was last in this space five years ago when it was called tacos el oso. While the interior décor hasn’t changed much, the menu is much, much improved. You can scarf down some tacos here, but Restaurante Tamarindo really specializes in the cuisine of El Salvador. That means a fantastic selection of pupusas, crunchy and scrumption meat-fill empanadas, and juicy, succulent banana-leaf-wrapped tamales. That have a sprawling menu that covers just about everything from the genre, but we stuck with pupusas, empanadas, tostadas, tamales, and yucca fritas. All super-awesome and worth a return visit. Our mini reviewer was only interested in chips and salsa today, so no comments from him. The best part about this place is that they have a liquor license and they are family friendly! Their staff took great care of us and made us feel like we were at home
