This place is solid. Great music, nice lighting, good tea and hookah. Hidden little gem.

Red Poppy is definitely one of my favorite hookah bars in the Denver area. I don’t really have anything bad to say about their hookah and their house. If you like having a chill smoke with some dope tea, I will totally recommend that you check out Red Poppy. One thing really important to me about hookah places is the crowd that hangs out at the shop. At Red Poppy, it feels like a more mature group who is looking to just chillax rather than young kids wanting to rave and scream. I also like that they have sit down rooms with pillows and a small table that you can all sit at. These tables can hold a decent size group of around 6 people. My favorite thing about Red Poppy is the tea. The tea is free when you purchase a hookah. When I go, there are always different kinds of flavors available. If there is no sugar out, you can always ask for sugar to accompany your tea. Also, they have great little trays to carry the tea around if you are grabbing some for all your waiting friends. Although this hookah seems more expensive than other places, I do think you are paying for the atmosphere and the tea as well. If you have a group of six or less, you can order one hookah for the group. Usually, that is not very much hookah to go around for so many people. Sometimes Red Poppy has a nice little Unilocal deal that definitely brings the price down quite a bit. I can’t wait until the next time I grab my friends and come here. I’ll definitely be looking forward to the tea selection they have on my visit. Also, I would just like to say that I appreciate the bathrooms here. They are quite nice!

Terrible ambiance, dust was everywhere, especially in their small room. Worst part was that they only provide two charcoal for Hookah, which i have never seen it anywhere. Charge additional 11 $ for coals. Further, that lady for sure doesn’t know anything about Hookah. She just know how to put flavor in head.

Unfortunately I had a very poor experience here. First and foremost I’ve been smoking hookahs for over a decade and make my own. The tobacco they used was weak in flavor, did not produce quality smoke, and burned quickly. They use multiple hose hookahs! Have fun trying to inhale while others are too. I have a feeling that mostly all of the reviews are from rookies or they just don’t know any better.

Best hookah bar I have been to!!! Caters to «adults» and is very classy. Owners are warm and friendly. They have created a very welcoming environment. A great place to hang out with friends or take a date.

We were here in Denver for a weekend wanted a nice cozy and relaxing place after a long hiking and driving day. Was happy to find this spot. Everything was so good… great hookah, great and very clean place, great music, best customer service. Nice arts on the walls Love the floor sitting on top of free organic tea.

Holy Smokes! Literally! I am a big big big hookah person and I’ve been dying to find a hookah place that wasn’t clubby and didn’t have a bunch of 18 year old kids running around. I’m from Vegas, and the hookah bars there are 21+ so it makes for a much better scene. My friends were here before me and clew up my phone to join them since they know I love hookah. I couldn’t find the place at first and my friend had to come out and grab me, but I liked that. It’s located in a cute house. I loved the décor and the music. The vibe is stellar. Since I arrived after my friends, the hookah was already started and I wasn’t ready for the strong taste. After a few puffs I adjusted and really enjoyed the flavor of the shisha. I don’t know what it was but it tasted great. I did get the chocolate chai for the tea. That was delicious and I felt it complimented the hookah. Apparently there is a sitting area outside and in the front. I would love to come back when it’s a little more warmer and sit outside. I am very happy to find a new hookah spot. I had bought my own hookah because I was so disappointed in the spots I had been to previously. I can’t wait to return.

This place is a RIPOFF… they charge $ 23 for a crappy hookah and they limit you to 2 coals ONLY… then you have to buy another bowl… are you freaking kidding me. I have never ever been to any other hookah lounge that does that. They force you to buy another hookah after two coals. What a joke. And the venue itself is nothing more than an old house, definitely not a lounge atmosphere. I ended up going just down the street to Luxor hookah lounge, great staff, great hookah and unlimited coals for $ 15. Save your time and money and avoid this place like the plague.

We were traveling from out of state and looking for a low key hookah bar to chill at for a bit. This was definitely it. The set up is a converted house with couches in each room… very relaxed. There were two caffeine free teas that we were drinking for free. The only downside was that it is a little spendy but ultimately worth it for the atmosphere.

My boyfriend and I have gone twice now. The first time we had a hard time finding it, but we love the location. It’s so fun, warm, and inviting! The first time we went we had watermelon and raspberry and the second time we did pomegranate orange. They were both awesome! The owner was so friendly and took the time to talk to us. We love the vibe and have definitely found our spot!

I’m here right now. This place has a very, very chilled out and friendly feel to it. Cool music playing in the background. And the free tea thing is true. Will be back.

I came to Colorado for my vacation and I’m spending a few days here in Denver. Me and my boyfriend have been going to the main tourist areas and everything has been great so far. Yesterday we spent all day walking and by 5 we were pretty tired, we wanted to go somewhere where we could relax. Went to Red Poppy and had a great time. I didn’t expect the place to be on a non commercial street but it didn’t matter once we went inside. The place had really music, free tea, the owner was very nice and the price very reasonable.

I’ve been to Red Poppy around 4 – 5 times and hands down, the BEST Hookah Bar in Denver! First, the atmosphere is very cool! There’s several different spots you can get cozy and have intimate conversations. Second, the owner is great! So nice, chill, and makes sure you are taken care of. Third, free tea! Fourth, I say just go to Red Poppy! You will not be disappointment!!!

This is probably one of the best hookah bars I’ve been to. If you’re looking for a «thump-de-thump» nightclub kind of place, look elsewhere because Red Poppy is about the company and the conversation. They’re set up in way where you can come and hang out with good people, enjoy a nice hookah, and drink delicious tea. When we mentioned that it was our first time, he gave us a quick little tour of the converted house which had several rooms and a covered back patio. It was a beautiful night so we decided to hang out in the back patio. One hookah is $ 23 for up to 6 people which includes 2 coals. This is a bit pricey, but with the Unilocal coupon($ 15 for $ 25), it was fine. However, considering our hookah lasted us about 2.5 hours(2 people), the normal price is not too pricey. The tea is complimentary and they only sell little nibbles, so when you think about it from a business perspective, it’s completely reasonable(for those complaining about price). The atmosphere here is unparalleled to any other hookah bar I’ve been to. The music was nice and chill, the smoke was smooth, the sofas were comfortable, and the service was impeccable. I would absolutely come here again. If I may make a suggestion to the owners(which may or may not be feasible), I’d like to see fruit smoothies or juice available for sale. Coffee would also be nice!

Red poppy?? more like …“Red Poopy”!!! I went to this place and was over charged for hookah like it was the last hookah bar on the planet. Noway I would pay for hookah that much unless I’m paying for privacy or at a upscale venue. If you think your hookah bar is not for everyone please lock the door. I give you 1 star for effort and 1 star for offering free tea.

Two words: FAKEREVIEWS! I’ll explain shortly. Came in before 7pm, ordered the $ 17 «happy hour» hookah and sat down. A few minutes later the hookah came out and was«ready» according to the waitress. We asked for mouth pieces and she said«everything is sanitized, no need for mouth tips.» After insisting, she did provide them.(Coincidentally, the first hit of the hookah blew a huge blob of ash into my mouth… very sanitized) Moving on, after a few minutes of trying to get the hookah started, it seemed there wasn’t enough coals. I lifted the coal cover and realized there was a measly 1 square of coal on the entire head. No problem, I’ll just ask for more. I walk up to the waitress and ask for 2 more coals(at least!) and she says«you only get 2 coals per bowl, additional coals are $ 11» WHAT!!! First of all a $ 17 hookah is a bit on the pricey side to begin with. Second of all she said«2 coals last 2 hours» when in reality they last 30 – 45 minutes max. And lastly, $ 11 for ONE piece of coal?! The whole box of coconara coals is no more than $ 8. A WHOLEBOX, not just a piece. I think this place preys on people who don’t smoke hookah or who are not experienced. Very unauthentic experience. Which brings me to the FAKEREVIEWS: notice that almost all 5 star reviews are by people with 1 or 2 reviews in total… classic fake review giveaway. Save yourself the $ 17-$ 28 dollars and go to a REAL hookah bar.

My experience did not go well here. It was dead quiet, the tea was mediocre, and the owner is a nice guy but he needs a different system. My boyfriend at the time and I were confused about when to pay. We thought maybe the check would be brought to us but it never was. Then when we were ready to go, the owner was no where to be found. There was no bell to ring, no other associates to ask. We just stood there for ten mins wondering how we would pay. We put the money we had in the tip jar then headed to the door when some Neanderthal of a friend of the owner accused my boyfriend and I of trying to steal a free smoking night, which was annoying but we gritted our teeth and went back inside where he went and got the guy that actually works there. It was embarrassing and annoying! We shouldn’t have to wait to give someone our money for not doing their job, just get a stupid bell and pay more attention to your customers and this could have all been avoided. Also, the shisha was not worth the expensive price for this miserable experience! Overall, a dismal failure.

There are a lot of ways to do a Hookah Bar wrong. Lousy club mixes, poor tobacco selection, poor customer service, dirty floors, high-school-aged clientele, etc. Red Poppy avoids every trap most other hookah bars fall for. Great music at a volume you can talk over, a really comfortable, clean, attractive atmosphere in a classic home, and great seating. The tea is both complementary and complimentary. The hookahs are good quality — myas — and they use Romman tobacco. That’s not earth-shattering, but it’s a well packed bowl at a decent price. Really recommended highly. A thoroughly enjoyable experience run by someone who knows what he is doing.

We found this place on Unilocal and are paying it forward for other Unilocalers. What a little treasure this place is! The owners opened a Red Poppy in Iowa and decided to bring one to Denver. This is a very cool place. You feel like you’re just hanging out with your friends at their house… only their house has an awesome collection of hookah and organic teas. If you get hookah you get free unlimited tea also! Come check this place out! Great for a date or a group outing. Just a wonderful haven of hospitality.
