Dont know what happened but walked in today and owner said they are closing their doors for good after 33 years! Wish them the best of luck.

ATTENTION: Red Coral will be closing for good as of January 26, 2015. This basic information, along with a couple paragraphs thanking everybody for their patronage over the years, was posted on the door when I came here for lunch today. It’s been over a decade since I had dined at Red Coral. This used to be my favorite Chinese lunch place near Glendale. They were even serving one of my old favorite dishes … A simple chicken and asparagus stir fry swimming in garlic sauce. This came with rice, a so-so eggroll, and their distinctive egg drop soup with tomato. It was nothing overly exciting, but it tasted rather good. The large crowd dining here on a Friday afternoon indicated that others also like it at Red Coral. This restaurant will be missed.

Excellent fresh tasting food. Great. Large parties not a problem. Even special dietary needs.

Visited these guys for years and went recently with a friend from Hong Kong and he even endorsed it! He said it had a more, «old style-homemade» cooking taste that he appreciated. I love this place!

They are near the office i work in, so they are our go-to for lunch. The food is good and fairly priced, and it is always ready for pick-up when they say it will be. Once they made a full order of chicken fried rice and fried chicken wings that none of us ordered, but packed it with our order and wrote on the lid, «Oops, our mistake — Enjoy!». Extra star just for that.

I love Red Coral! I’ve eaten there since I was a little kid! Becky is a sweet heart, she always acknowledges me by name as I walk in the door. Danny is awesome as a server! He always checks in with me and makes sure everything is great. Moon is also a very sweet kind person. And yes she does a great job checks in, asks how my day is going. Every time I eat at Red Coral I sit at the same table every time. And in fact I’ve eaten here so much that they don’t even give me a menu. They just bring out my food! I have a custom lunch every time. Medium wonton soup with no veggies or shrimp extra wontons extra pork! For dinner it’s sweet and sour chicken no veggies. Perfect everytime! I also love how all the servers, hosts, cooks, eat their meals together at the table across from mine. Very much a family vibe! Highly recommend!!!

Love the Kung pou beef, the egg fu yung, the hot n spicy soup and jum bone soup. Very friendly staff and the owners are the best! Ya gotta try it! The food is not like any other Chinese restaurant. The hot n Spicy soup even has shrimp in it… yum!

We tried Red Coral for the first time the other night for take out. We got the red coral chicken(similar to General Tso’s), asparagus and chicken in garlic sauce, and crab wontons. We were impressed. Everything was high quality even down to the service. They even taped the containers down in the carry out box so they wouldn’t tip over ok the ride home. Who does that? Definitely going back the next time we’re feeling like Chinese and we’ll probably dine in.

One of my all time favorite Asian food restaurants. The Kung Pao here is delicious… but be warned it’s deep fried… not typical. Ambiance is a little lacking, but it’s quiet, clean and the service is always top notch.

Fantastic Chinese food. Not your typical Chinese that is heavy on the oils. Very ligth and flavorful. We had the sweet n sour pork, sesame chicken, and lo mein. Everything was delicious, definitely recommend!

I have gone here for years — never a problem. Tonight we ordered two orders of vegetables and tofu, no mushrooms, and brown rice — extra spicy. They brought ‘em out loaded with mushrooms and white rice. I told the waiter about the problem, and he reluctantly took them back. Five minutes later he returns. The meals are smaller and not hot. They removed the mushrooms and let the plates sit. We will not return.

Been going here for food as long as I’ve been alive. Literally I’ve celebrated birthdays here including my first, 29 years ago when they were in a different location in the same strip mall. I’m shocked to see such bad reviews of this place. Perhaps this just isn’t the place for sesame chicken. I’ve never ordered it here before. Get these and you can’t go wrong. Sizzling Rice Soup — beautiful presentation and very very delicious. Walnut Shrimp — sweet and savory, just fantastic Chicken Wraps — nice appetizer, great sauce Kung Pao Beef — I’ve never had this dish better anywhere. Select your spice level. Perfect crunchy sweet and spicy. The best! Mu Shu Pork — wrapped at your table! Delicious and perfect tortillas complimented with hoisin sauce Garlic Chicken — nice flavors, a good chicken dish. Chow Mein — I’ve always liked it here, but rarely order it in favor of the dishes listed above. Bottom line, Mrs Yuan has been cooking Chinese food in Denver for nearly 4 decades and Red Coral is still going strong. Say what you will, but there is no way a place could last that long if the food was as bad as the reviews are claiming. Give Red Coral a try. It’s a Denver classic!

Noticed this place while at Safeway and it has been awhile since I had Chinese. The prices are about $ 2 too much for dinner, but they also include a quart of steamed rice, so that’s probably included in the price. My dish cost $ 10.95 and was the white meat chicken with green beans. Very good brown sauce consisting of some garlic and green onions, but a bit salty as are all Chinese dishes. The string beans were plentiful and fresh and crisp and there was enough chicken to satisfy, although it was cut really thinly. Probably a bit more chicken would have been nice. It was still good and if you put the sauce over the rice, even better. Lunch is the way to go at Chinese joints and the lunch specials looked good and included egg roll and soup.

The sweet and sour pork was totally off. Should have asked them to take it back for a remake. Waitress misunderstood my noodle order and instead of bringing a correct order out later, she simply brought plain crispy noodles out Not worth the price either.

I’m a fan of lollicup next dfor and finally decided to try this place. The staff was super friendly, but that was where I stopped being impressed. The crab rangoons were good, but the entrees, at least the chicken ones, default to dark meat unless you pay a $ 2 upcharge. We didn’t pay it, and ended up with jerky. This wasn’t a place worthy of a $ 13 chicken dinner. The portions weren’t impressive either, though they didn’t add a split plate charge. I’d recommend going to Pei Wei on the other side on i25 for Americanized Chinese. Better prices, quality and portions all around.

Nice décor/atmosphere, and prices were cheap. Unfortunately, I just couldn’t stand the food. As so many people had good things to say about the sesame chicken on Unilocal,I ordered the sesame chicken lunch special. The fried spring roll was the best thing on the plate. The egg drop soup was decent – not great, but edible. The fried rice would have been good if I’d been able to enjoy it. Why did I say«if I’d been able to enjoy it?» The sesame chicken was on the same plate as the fried rice. No big deal, except that the sauce for the sesame chicken was so strong that I just could not stand it without copious amounts of fried rice to smooth the taste out. The rice next to and under the sesame chicken was drowning in sauce, and there wasn’t much rice left that was untouched by the sauce. I ran out of un-sauced rice very quickly, and because the sesame chicken sauce’s taste was SOSTRONG, I had no idea what the fried rice tasted like. If you have elderly relatives who are losing their taste buds and who complain that the food everywhere is bland? Bring them to Red Coral. Your relatives will enjoy the super strong flavors and praise this place(and you for finding it.) If you have full control over your taste buds and you aren’t looking for INTENSEFLAVORBLASTS, then don’t bother. A restaurant lives and dies by the food it serves, and unfortunately for Red Coral, I just couldn’t bring myself to finish the food. I won’t be back.

Okay, that about says it. This is one of those places where what is great and poor are far apart. The food is good, except no low sodium soy sauce(It’s 2011 folks. No matter where you’re from, you must learn the trend of less salt in the modern diet is a goal for many.), and no brown rice. Weird. The people are friendly and the décor is traditional and the room is nicer than expected for a strip mall restaurant. It’s 2 blocks from my house, which is a bummer, since the rating is low. They do deliver too.

Went with a few work friends and the food was ok but not great. The egg foo yung(spelling) was like tempura battered vegies. Where oh where was the egg? My friendas liked the sause. i will admit my spicey shrimp had lots of shrimp and vegies. My other compardre had sesame chicken and it was good. The egg rolls were good. The service was just ok. I am sure our waitress did not speak much English. However she did pack up our leftovers and we had plenty. The worst part of our meal and the big reason for the 2 stars was because the cloth napkins smelled terrible. I was told it was the smell of nasty oil that does not wash out. I question that as I do eat at other Chinese restauranta and the napkins don’t smell. Yuck. Maybe they should find a new cleaners.
