I love I love I love this store! I live down the street and it’s my go to for little treats — both for myself and for friends. The buyer has awesome taste. Unique beauty products(love the egg white soap from Sweden) and baby stuff(handmade items as well as Aden and Anais blankets) and not-your-typical children books and neat retro candy. It’s not cheap, obviously, but it’s also doable. Plus, I don’t feel like a loser for shopping with my stroller and toddler. Tho it’s snug space in there, they always greet us with genuine smiles. It rocks!

This neighborhood is über-quaint, with a hit-or-miss variety of shops and restaurants. Pome is a miss. It felt erratic, like it was trying to please too many people, and yet I couldn’t find anything I liked. I’m from Portland, so, maybe my expectations were too high.

I think that this is a great little boutique, and I hate to shop. While small in square footage, Pome has more than ample quantities of anything(everything) that you could possibly need for that perfect host/hostess, child’s/adult’s birthday gift, or personal pampering. An always helpful owner is soooooo able to take the pain that I feel while shopping and turn it into angst-free relief for having found what I needed. Wrapping provided, and my four year old always gets to pick out a piece of candy. If you are attending an event in Bonnie Brae, Observatory Park, Belcaro or Wash Park and need to pick up a little something as a gift, look no further than this quaint shop. Hate shopping, love Pome.

Clearly, ‘Shabby Chic’ is a trend as you can find a quaint bohemian boutique in every quaint shopping neighborhood in Denver. Don’t get me wrong, I love daydreaming about dropping everything and making a new home in France or Italy. And obviously, the grass is greener for the owner of Pome. Definition of Pome: A type of fruit in which a fleshy outer layer surrounds a central core that contains a number of seeds. IE: the apple and the pear This shop truly reflects the things that I daydream about when I consider travel as an option — particularly, when I am thinking of France. Walk into the store and three sets of luggage — super quaint, mind you — are propped just so under a table full of soaps and knick knacks. The soaps that stood out are shaped like an egg and you can purchase them in a variety of pastels($ 4). Of course, the owner had them arranged in a bird’s nest made of twigs. There are fancy-pantz diaper bags, delightful drawer pulls, and exotic lotions. The L’Amande collection had whimsy and charm but the lip balm was $ 8, so feel assured that many items in this charming shop were shipped over from far places. Dream on Cherie!
