They recently closed their doors for good. Too bad as it was a reliable neighborhood Chinese joint.

I came here for dim sum, since it is one of the closest places to me that serves dim sum and I have to say that it is some of the best that I have had(not THE best). Here is what I liked and didn’t like: 1. Pan Fried Chicken Bun — just okay, nothing special 2. Scallion Pancakes — alright, but not that good. 3. Egg Custard Tart — good 4. Sesame Ball — great, some of the best I have ever had 5. Curry Beef Buff — I loved these 6. Streamed Shrimp Pearl Ball — Very good 7. Black Mushroom Stuffed with Shrimp — I’ll Pass. Not very good 8. Sesame Pocket — I loved these 9. Egg Drop Soup — had thin slices of cucumber. It was very good.

Came here for the Dim Sum. Great selection with pretty decent prices. The Dim Sum portions are huge, so 3 per person will have your stomach busting. The atmosphere is of a pretty nice Chinese restaurant and the service is really good. Will be back. btw. They have dim sum all the time now on the menu, for the exception of 3 – 4 items.

I really, REALLY wanted to love the food at this little establishment, but just wasn’t overly impressed. Let’s face it, I’m a food snob. If I’m going to spend any money on non-Taco Bell or Wendy’s products, I want to be rocked out of my socks. I heard about the dim sum at the Palace from a co-worker, hoping that this might be a good little hole-in-the-wall that I can call my own. Sadly, it seems that it is just another average Chinese restaurant. Now, I should clarify, the food is OK. It’s just not filled with amazing flavors. It was cheap, averaging about $ 2 per dim sum plate. So if you are looking for a cheap meal that will fill you up, this might be the place. Just prepare your taste buds for an average lunch or dinner. Will I be back? Sure. The people are friendly and the food is different. But I’m still looking for dim sum to fill that hole in my heart that all of the Taco Bell and Wendy’s is sure to aggravate.

Well a friend took us here. From the outside it is just another strip mall opening. Parking is reasonable. It is located on north side of Evans and easy to miss, look for McDonald’s next door. Once you walk in the door surprise is huge. The dining room is large but divided making for cozy sections. The tables are well spaced so you do not feel like participating in neighbors conversation. This was my first visit. The service was excellent and attentive. The owner also visited tables to check. The wine and beer list is very weak. The hot tea though is excellent. All 3 of our meals were served quickly with nice presentation. The Hot and Sour Soup was excellent. My Mongolian Beef was good although was not as spicy as I desire but know you can request hotter. All of the meat was tender. My companions both had sea food an said excellent. I wish to try the Vietnamese food which was not on lunch menu. The portions are good, expect to leave with a light lunch lite over.

The dim sum here was pretty good, I am giving this place the bump up to four star because of the service. The seating inside is plentiful, and you can order off the menu or off the carts during their Saturday lunch.

All the food was good. The wait-staff all work together apparently because different people kept filling up are glasses. That was a nice touch. We all shared the Thai noodle plate which was not that good. Probably the fresh sqeezed lime. Just didn’t please the palate. The Miongolian Beef and the Sesame chicken on the other hand was the Bomb dot com! That means… delish! They gave us this really yummy pot of tea. They really knew how to steep that tea because it had no bitter after taste like with some other teas. Portions were nice and service was excellent. I’ll…We’ll be back!

4 stars for the Palace because: 1) It is kind of halfway between Lone Tree and Park Hill. A good place to catch up with long time friends for a fairly quite meal on a Saturday night. Although some of the older patrons still think of the Palace of old and are dressed to the gills, jeans are obviously OK. 2) Good bar and wine selection. Besides the typical cocktails, you can get little umbrella drinks and they even have a few specials of their own. The husband had a Colorado Blvd. for desert, a concoction of rum, coke, Kahlua, and cream; reminded us of a Colorado Bulldog. 3) The food is not what you would find on Federal. However, it is nicely presented slightly above average Chinese food for Denver. My friend’s walnut prawns and pineapple in cream sauce were served with a beautiful radish rose. 4) The interior is as cheesy as the strip mall on Evans. But in its day, it was ever so exotic; dimly lit with ornate screens and murals painted with Chinese art. There are highly polished and carved wood panels dividing the entry from the dining room. And in the entrance a curio cabinet offering Chinese zodiac figurines for $ 9.00. This is where you take Aunt Mildred from Nebraska or Mom from Boerne, Texas and they will think it is the cat’s whiskers. This is where you go back in time to when this was the best Chinese food in Denver.

Great place for weekend Dim Sum. The atmosphere was nice. The ambiance is much better than other Dim Sum places that are really loud sometimes.
