Met a friend at Our Mutual Friend Brewery and he told me about this place across the street. While it seems clear after reading these reviews that I need to try the brisket, I had the pulled pork sandwich. It was good, but not $ 16(with recommended isquare tip) good. I“ll be back to try the burnt ends though. As someone who has been blessed enough to live near Lockhart, TX for a spell the more good Q the better.

Holy Brisket! I thought I had time traveled back to Austin, TX. At first glance at the menu I thought it was going to be pricey, but the portion was huge. Generous cuts of sliced brisket partnered with pickles, onions, and what seemed like delicious homemade white bread. Put me in a meat daze. Worth every cent. Would have paid more to get that level of brisket in Colorado. They know their BBQ and it shows. Hands down the best BBQ in 500 miles(maybe more).

Best barbecue I’ve ever eaten hands down. The brisket is as good as everyone says it is. The only way I can describe it is meat butter. Get there early as it almost always sells out

This place is pretty solid. Definitely get the brisket, it was great, both the fatty and lean cuts. I wasn’t a huge fan of the pulled pork. It was pretty dry, and I didn’t get any vinegar taste at all(Maybe they were going for South Carolina? But then I’d expect mustard).

So. Good. The pork, the brisket, the burnt ends — Denver finally has legit BBQ. Thank you OwlBear.

There is no longer any good reason for a person from Denver and vicinity to go to Texas. Because, now, thanks to Owlbear, what have they got that we ain’t got? Karl Fallenius(full disclosure: I’ve known him since long before he grew into a giant) went to Austin and stole their secret and brought it home to Colorado. So, a year or so back I went on a barbecue road trip with my wife and son(Karl’s friend) and we hit St. Louis, Kansas City, Memphis, Birmingham, Atlanta, a few points in between … and Lockhart, Texas.(Carolina will have to wait for another road trip.) In Texas, it’s about brisket and that’s what I ate on my first visit to Owlbear, and, well, Karl nailed it. Best damn brisket on the planet, which is to say it’s not just the best this side of Austin. It’s tender, moist, smokey throughout with a salty crust. Served just right on a sheet of butcher paper with some raw onion and pickles. Porky beans and cole slaw make for perfect sides. Next time, sure, I may try pulled pork(Carolina) or ribs(St. Louis-KC-Memphis) but maybe not. Because brisket. Owlbear is part of the Finn’s Manor«complex» in Rino, where there are a couple of food trucks on a parking lot adjacent to a small hipster bar where you order a margarita or a beer to go with your brisket. Most of the seating is outside, however, and I’m told more outdoor heaters are on the way

This is probably the best brisket I’ve ever eaten. This is a great place to hang out in Denver. You can grab delicious drinks from Finns Place and eat at the food carts next door. We had Owl Bear and loved the pork tenderloins and incredible brisket. It was super moist, crusty seasoned rind, and melt in your mouth meat. This is a must try for barbecue lovers.

Best BBQ west of the Mississippi! Sells out quick on Fridays and Satudays, but there’s always plenty on Sundays!

The best BBQ I’ve had in Denver! Great Texas style BBQ! I had the brisket and it was spot on and delicious! No BBQ sauce is even necessary for this goodness! Talked with Karl, the owner, who is super cool and friendly. Looking forward to visiting again! Great job!
