The food was wonderful and the service and atmosphere were both great as well. Came here late at night on a date and had a great experience. Larimer Square is charming and right in the Downtown Denver area. The goat cheese ravioli and calamari appetizers were both perfect. A little expensive but appropriately priced for what you get. Loved it

I love this place. An avid bar diner, the service at Ocean Prime really can’t be beat. While seafood is rarely my first choice, I can be swayed with promises of delightful shrimp, crab, lobster, or oysters. OP always delivers in that department. Most recently I enjoyed a plate of oysters on a half shell at the bar with an accompanying cucumber gimlet(not too sweet and divinely refreshing). Each time I’ve ordered oysters, the waiter has taken care to explain their origins and the differences in texture and taste, which I greatly appreciate. Definitely a beer girl, the cocktails at OP cannot be beat. I’d recommend the Berries and Bubbles, the aforementioned cucumber gimlet, or the black orchid. While the fare can be pricey, I think it’s great for appetizers and worth the price for the cocktails. Always fresh food, tasty beverages, and great service.

We had a memorable experience. My parents came from out of time. We had the crab cake and the surf and turf. Both were delicious. For entrees we had the teriyaki salmon, king salmon and lamb chops. For dessert, yum, yum crème burlee. Management team is the best! We ordered off the menu and they accommodated! I have never experienced such wonderful service! Thank you!!!

Always a good place to go with clients, food is exceptional and the truffle Mac and Cheese was incredible. I had the Halibut and the corn chowder that was on it was exquisite.

The service was great, but the food was mediocre. I got the special which was the halibut and it was very bland. We came here for my sister’s graduation since every place was booked up that weekend. I would say nothing was memorable, nothing I would come back for.

I had dinner alone in the bar while finishing out the workday. Restaurants like these, specifically their bars, are ideal for business travelers. Lots of people dining alone at the bar and no hassling behavior. The 3 or 4 bartenders were very solicitous, almost overbearing at times(I got asked by 3 within 3 bites how I liked my food). This place often rates 5 stars and the food is quite good. I give it 4 because they got my order wrong and the wine by the glass list is long, average and quite marked up. Wine mark ups aren’t a surprise but few wines seemed terribly unique. The shellfish cob salad was excellent(despite the fact that they didn’t hold the bacon or tomato– easy to remove though). It had lots of lobster and shrimp and was flavored with blue cheese, tangy dressing and creamy avocado. Overall I likes the food and atmosphere and can hardly fault service that is trying very hard to ensure you are happy. If I were to return I would try raw bar items as they had quite a nice list.

Great food, great service. I love this place. We decided to come here for my birthday. I have been here three times before and the food is always fantastic. We had the seafood tower this time for an appetizer which was delicious.

«Everyone in Denver knows this place, and for good reason, it’s a great place for dinner in a fancier setting» This place was recommended to us and known by a lot of the locals in Denver including all of our Über drivers. This was a place we definitively had to drive. I was entertaining a few clients of mine and wanted to show them some of the best places the city had to offer. Found this, loved the reviews and menu selection and was happy. Didn’t even know it was a chain or franchise until afterwards. Atmosphere We dined upstairs but the bar and downstairs looked great as well. Nice ambiance and roomy tables with friendly staff. Menu Nice menu of fresh local produce, meats, and fresh seafood. Had the recommended tuna tar tar, calamari, and beef appetizer. One of us ordered the Rib Eye, the Chilean Sea Bass, and a Halibut. All were delicious, the sides were nice. Great flavour, very fresh, well cooked. A little pricey for sure, but not a bad place to spend a business dinner and know that quality will be fine. Would go back for a date, business meeting, or big group meal before an event.

This restaurant is in a trendy little spot but it is hard to find parking. If you eat at the restaurant during lunch the valet is free. We weant for Easter Brunch and they had items that they served that they usually don’t have on the menu. I had French toast that was stuffed with cream cheese and topped with blueberries, we also tried their blood orange mimosa, and the crab and eggs benedict. They had a fancy mold for the eggs benedict but I was unimpressed as I prefer free flowing benedicts which are harder for the chef to do well vs the mold. Food was good but temperature of food could have ben a little hotter. Service was nice. It’s ritzy.

I stopped in here the other night and ate at the bar… I had been here for drinks previously and I saw outstanding food being delivered… so I HAD to try this place out! Wow. Steaks. Pork chops. Seafood. And the wine. Oh my the wine. But shall we forget the service? No. Outstanding. How is this place not packed on a Thursday night? I think Steven helped us at the bar, and he(and his colleagues) were excellent. They searched for another bottle of wine for us… same vintage, same year. And they delivered! My friend devoured the French Onion Soup while we ate the Shrimp Cocktail served on dry ice and smoking. Then we ate the filets and the pork chop. Wow. Just wow. Made to order steaks and chops with sauces to die for. Hint: try the black truffle sauce. Great steaks. Great wine. Friendly, excellent staff who aim to please and make this my favorite spot in Denver. How can you go wrong?

I’m from Denver, but moved away a few years back due to the military. I’m in town visiting now and my hunny and I went to Ocean Prime for dinner last night. It was overall a pretty pleasant experience. Waitstaff was awesome, friendly, and fast! The only real downside was that my main course(sea scallops) were a bit overdone for my liking, and the Parmesan risotto that came with was a little underdone. My hunny’s steak was a bit under what he asked for as well — but the waiter noticed it without us saying anything and offered us desert on him. Awesome experience though! Would definitely return! Our waiter’s name was Michael :)

Wow! Great way to impress the date. I felt like Belle when walking in this fine establishment. «Be my guest!» I strongly recommend sticking to the popular dishes! Especially what the other reviewers rave about. Pictures will tell you what we enjoyed! Only thing missing is my wife’s lobster. Don’t leave without trying the desserts.

Friends bragged about this place and now I know why. Not only was the selection interesting and the food incredibly delicious, but the service was outstanding(thanks Adrian), the atmosphere was active but not loud, and all the staff were busy and pleasant. I really enjoyed the variety of people in the restaurant — everything from jeans to a suit, and it was all okay. I think the topping on the evening was they way — even though it was busy — you never felt rushed to finish so they could turn the table. We will be going back for special dinners and maybe even stay for the live music(which sounded great).

I must admit I’ve been here several times in the almost two years I’ve lived in Denver. With all the times I’ve been there I’ve only ordered food 1 time. I guess I’m saying, the food is good but the drinks are delicious. Get the kettle one martini up with a twist. It’s life changing. Or there is a drink made with pears that taste like heaven. It’s amazing. I’ve never had anything but great service but I’ve always just sat at the bar. I’ve went in shorts and a tshirt and got the same level of service as anyone at the bar.

The first thing you should do upon entering is ordering a drink, specifically a Berries & Bubbles. The presentation alone will make you feel wild! I decided to stick to superb raw items on the menu ordering oysters(west-coast only please) and The Dutch Harbor Crab Legs. I love how they cut into the shell so you can look remotely civilized when digging in to get to the meat. I felt that the food was too good to take a star away for waiter error but there was a little snafu with my check. I needed to leave early so I requested my portion of the check on my way to the ladies room. They charged me for 2 orders of oysters on the half shell instead of one. Not wanting to draw attention to my early departure I didn’t complain, paid the bill and left. I did stay a few minutes downstairs to listen to the live music which was a nice little treat before bedtime.

This place is beautiful, great atmosphere, and right on Larimer Square, which at night is kinda cool to look at. I wish we could’ve sat outside and watched the free entertainment, but alas it was too cold. Mother nature curbing my judgmental nature, I suppose:) We were seated while we waited for our entire party, which was nice to not make us wait. The waitress was very quick to take care of us, and was very good about coming back to check on us. I will say that sometimes with our waitress and the manager(I think), they were crawling all over us, and always right when you stuff your mouth. I had the scallops, and they were delish. They had live entertainment going on, and he was playing some awesome music. It’s pretty pricey, and my husband thought his steak did not deserve to cost $ 50…it was good though. Definitely expect to spend $ 100 or more when you come here. *****THEYVALIDATETHEVALETPARKINGOUTFRONT. Don’t make the mistake I did, and pay $ 22 for parking… Geez.

Yes, yes, and YES! This place is so tasty. In fact, I had not had a meal in a few months where I continued to comment on how delicious everything was. The atmosphere is great; it is a seafood restaurant and the surroundings really make you feel like you are dining in a fancy restaurant on the water. The use of glass for walls also helps brighten up the place and make it feel more spacious, despite how packed with people the restaurant was. Ocean Prime has really cool cocktails because they are so innovative. I tried the Black Orchid, and also the Berries & Bubbles(the latter is really amazing because it has dry ice in it, which makes it «smoke»). The white wine is also very good — I had a glass of the 2013 Trefethen Chardonnay to go with my entrée of the Chilean Sea Bass. Normally, I don’t order Chilean Sea Bass because it is so rich, but it came with high recommendations, and it did not disappoint. Usually, I also do not order white wine because it is too sweet, but the Trefethen was dry enough for me to enjoy it. My boyfriend ate the Filet Mignon which I had to try, and it was delightfully pink on the inside. To backtrack a bit, we had the appetizer of the Crab Cakes and it came with one crab cake and roasted corn on top. I will definitely be back for all of these items, and hopefully to try other menu items as well. As far as experience goes, the service is excellent. Really — the overall experience was so good, that I came home and tried to find out the nearest location to me on the web. In doing so, I found out that Ocean Prime also has Happy Hour in certain locations. This place just keeps getting better and better.

Oh man, where to begin? My boyfriend and I kind of stumbled upon Ocean Prime by accident. We had walked past it when visiting other restaurants in the area, and we needed a place for an impromptu celebration one night and decided to try it. We were completely blown away. Have you ever gone out to eat, received your food, and with every bite felt the need to exclaim how good it is? That’s what happened. Over the last 3 years, we’ve been back a handful of times. Birthdays, holidays, with out of town guests. We went for New Years, 2015 and somehow managed to get a last minute reservation. When we arrived, our table was still dirty, and we were stuck standing in the middle of an incredibly busy dining room. The manager came and got us, took us downstairs to a fantastic table at the bar where we were given hats, noisemakers and glasses. We had a great time and a fabulous dinner! Our most recent experience was for my boyfriend’s birthday. His family flew in from out of town to surprise him. I informed the restaurant when I made the reservation so they would be sure not to say anything about the number of people in our party if we were to arrive first. They were very accommodating, and gave our group one of the private rooms upstairs, which was lovely. Ocean Prime is one of those places where every dish I order is the best I’ve ever had. From the steak to the salmon to the carrots, macaroni and cheese, loaded baked potato. If you want to be wowed, skip the other tempting steakhouses, and head straight to Ocean Prime.

What’s not to like? Live piano music on the first floor, dining on the outdoor patio, and a beautiful dining room on the second floor! Ocean Prime does not disappoint. The food, service and ambiance = 5 stars. If you are ever upset with any of your food(very rare), just tell your server and they will make things right. My last visit here was with my fiancé. We grabbed food and drinks on the first level, while watching and listening to the piano musician. The musician was very talented and played a lot of great songs from varying decades. Filet mignon is always my go-to entrée. I also enjoy the french onion soup, so make sure you save some bread for the soup! There is no question about desert — get the PEANUTBUTTERPIE! It’s like nothing else I’ve ever had, it melts in your mouth, just do it!
