If you are looking for authentic Turkish brands, you must check out this place: from non-perishable canned food, fresh meat(halal) and dairy products, cookies and candy bars, to traditional teapots, tea glasses, coffee sets, this little store offers a variety of items. It has been around for quite a while, and the owners/servers are very friendly people. Last week, for the first time in all of my visits to this store, my experience with the meat section has been a little disappointing. When we brought home the boneless chicken thighs we purchased, we noticed that some of them had a pretty nasty smell. Assuming that they were spoiled, we threw them away. This is the only reason I did not give them 5 stars. That being said, we were satisfied with all other meat products we purchased here.

Great service and good meats, the prices are reasonable. Will make this my spot to buy all my meat.

Well, since I’ve reviewed both Thai Spice Café and Little Europe Restaurant, I’d better do Nazar International Market in the same stripmall, wouldn’t you agree? This tantalizing Turkish treat offers the expected Halal meat, frozen pastry, scintillating spices and sundry other Middle Eastern staples. But it also has some unique items to wow you too. Where else can you find the fiery black carrot juice called Salgam [Shalgam] Suyu? One sip of this potent beverage and you’ll thumb your nose at V-8 from then on. Or a cool crisp Uludag Gazoz(the first«G» is sort of said at the back of the throat)? These citrusy sodas are usually available in Regular(kind of a lemon-lime) and Orange flavors at Nazar. The market also helps you get your fill of native treats with their selection of Ülker chocolates and cookies. And as if all that wasn’t enough, you can find mixes for such typically Turkish delights as the tripe soup Iskembe [or Ishkembe] Çorbasi, and the creamy rice pudding called Sütlaç. One visit to Nazar, and you’ll feel powerful, like Kemal Atatürk! Well, you probably won’t be unifying any nations or anything. But you get the point.

Nazar International Market, is like a few blocks away from International Market, I have written about in my previous review. Though the Ethnic Grocer is smaller in size as compared to International Market, they provide similar services for the Muslim community here in Colorado. That include the Zabihah meats or Halal meats for your cooking needs. Nazar International Market can be considered a Turkish market which focus on meats such as goat ribs and goat legs. They have several offerings of olives, spices, beans and jars of vegetables and peppers.

I always seem to be looking for something that your«average» store or market doesn’t carry. You too? Well, today I was looking for Teff Flour to make Injera and some Bar Bere spice(extra hot). Needless to say, Albertson’s, Safeway & Costco looked at me like I was from the Moon. So I headed to Whole Foods. .. and there I was treated cordially, but I could see in their eyes that they thought I was from Mars or maybe Jupiter! Not being the type to give up easily, I searched Unilocal-Denver and found Nazar International Market just a few miles down the road. Hoping that they could at least tell me where to get my ingredients, I popped in. When I told the owner what I was looking for he said«Sure, let me show you.» Without the slightest hesitation he produced the needed items. They even had already prepared Injera from a local bakery.(I bought some to eat in the car on the way home.) Nazar is a small store, but it is packed with all sorts of wonderful ingredients from around the world. And the best part was the owner. .. customer service at its best. He wouldn’t let me even carry the Bar Bere to the counter — — said if I dropped it I would be sneezing for days!
