Pretty middle of the road sandwich. Not much meat, did not get my order right on the first try. Too much bread for the rest of the ingredients. The fancy soda was nice, though.

Just got pickup from here. The avocado sandwiches had almost no avocado. The club had almost no turkey, almost no ham. I feel violated and like my money was stolen. Included is a picture of the exact amount of turkey they put on the sand which. Shame on you Mr. Lucky, shame on you!

I’m actually surprised this place has such good reviews. It is nothing special. Especially since the guy working the counter was so rude to me and they weren’t even busy. The tuna salad is NOT tuna salad. Don’t get it. The bread is chewy.

How can your employee have no idea what a vegetarian or vegan is? More importantly why wouldn’t it be a red flag when your customer says«never mind» when ordering, something might be wrong. I hear the bread is good, I’d like to try it when the staff learns the difference between gluten free and vegan.

Had the Chicken Salad… tasted like dry canned chicken with slices of grapes, there was more lettuce and tomato than chicken, and overall there was more bread than filling. The bread is a tough, chewy French bread. There are far better sandwich shops in Denver.

Ordered two sandwiches. Club came with one slice turkey and one strip of bacon. Chicken salad had very little chicken salad. Both came with a tremendous amount of lettuce and a LOT of bread. Really lettuce sandwiches with a tiny bit of meat.

I ordered two sandwiches for pick up and showed up 30 minutes later because I was delayed with the kids. The staff informed me that the two kitchen workers had eaten my sandwiches(usually they take a long time to make them which is the reason I called ahead). One of them yelled«It was delicious» as I was leaving. LAME.

You can always depend on a great sandwich at this joint. The selection is choice and the service is unbeatable! My sandwich is always fat and delicious. Plus: Boylan Bottling Fountain Soda! Yay for Mr. Lucky’s!!!

I just tried this place on a whim and it was not bad at all. The bread was amazing! and the ingredients were really really fresh. I think the tomato soup could have been amazing but it was under seasoned as was the sandwich; however, neither were bad, just not as exciting as I had hoped them to be. I will say, this is merely my subjective opinion and I would not say it should deter anyone from trying Mr. Lucky’s out. The service was excellent – the woman at the counter gave me great suggestions – and I would def say that in comparison to other sandwich places, It is def above average in terms of quality and freshness; the seasoning was just a bit lacking in my opinion. As for the environment, it was clean, maybe a bit sparse in terms of décor and the airconditioning left me FREEZING. Also, its always a pet peeve for me but adding a purse hook in the bathroom would be nice; its always interesting trying to hold your purse while you pee. :) Overall, I would still give lucky’s another try, the warm sandwiches sounded amazing and if I had to choose one bread to eat for the rest of my life, it would be the french bread they used on my sandwich. mmmmmmmmmm.

The Bread. I mean, they use the perfect bread. It’s that chewy kind that isn’t too much and is so flavorful. I got the Mad Cow. It’s your basic Sandwich no Frills shop. But the Sandwich was spot on. Really satisfying. I only got a half, and because it was my first time I did get(the LAST) free cookie at around 3pm. So I guess unless they restock at some point if you’re there too late and it’s your first time you might not get the cookie. Luckily they had what i wanted, chocolate chocolate chip. Yum. Got a Craft soda as well. Overall a good experience. If you go in expecting just a really good basic snadwich, this is a good place to go.

Sometimes you try a new place, and it instantly goes straight into your regular rotation. This is that kind of place. It’s a no-frills, no-pretense sandwich shop. But they don’t skimp on the only thing that matters and that is the quality of the food. The bread is superb and a vast contrast to the cheap, backed-over-by-a-truck soggy loafs that often bookend most chain-y sandwiches. Or the misguided snooty and impossible to bite ciabatta that is too often utilized by the rest. You will leave full and satisfied that at least one of your life decisions today turns out better than you’d hoped.

Closest sandwich joint to where I live, and I want to be here all the time. The downside: I’m not much of a sandwich foodie. The hubs, on the other hand, is all about it. Lots of sandwich options: tuna, veggie, classic turkey, italian varieties, BLT, you name it, they’ve got it. The deal breaker: the bread. It’s too hard. Not stale hard, but just too crispy. I want my sandwich bread soft and squishy, not crunchy when I bite in. This is the exact reason I don’t toast my sandwiches. The quality of other ingredients is fine, though I think they’re a bit stingy with the meat.

Solid little sandwich shop, nothing fancy but good bread and quality meat. And some natural sodas that are okay, but a welcome change from the name brands.

I was slightly disappointed that after reading other reviews, once we got there, they no longer give out punch cards or a free cookie on your first visit. That said, the sandwiches were delicious. I got the regular club, and my boyfriend got the meatball, and we exchanged our second halves. The club was amazing. My only complaint was that the bread used(French, I believe) was very difficult to bite into, so as you are eating your sandwich, the inside starts falling out the back. The bread being so delicious made up for that fact, however it’s good to keep in mind that this is messy fare and you won’t want to wear a nice shirt while eating these(or order these for say, a work lunch). The meatball sub was also delicious. The sauce and cheese were on point! However, the meatballs themselves had a very potent flavor(I believe oregano?) and it was kind of overkill. It was difficult eating an entire half sub because of the strong flavor. All in all, the food was dope. This shop is definitely worth trying, even if it isn’t my regular spot.

I was in a bit of a hurry because I stopped by while walking my dog. I ordered the club and told the woman at the counter I would wait outside with my dog and come back inside to get my sandwich. Not only did she bring my dog water she also brought out my sandwich — something she definitely didn’t have to do. Great customer service and delicious sandwiches. I’ll definitely be back.

3.5 Stars. How can an $ 8 lunch be bad? Like all of the Regulars’ reviews, I don’t have the misfortune of eating here in the beefy years. However, I just tried Mr. Lucky’s for the first time, and I thought it was above average and fairly priced. Possibly The Profit bought the business, but if the new owner can keep the doors open, then it is a win for the Cap Hill lunch population. And occasionally between bites I saw glimmers of the original Spicy Pickle. God rest it’s soul. Tip: Added bonus, Boylan fountain drinks and Jalapeño chips.

I’m crying on my keyboard as I write this. I heard from a sales rep who frequents our office(and first introduced me to Mr. Lucky’s) that the establishment had recently changed ownership. Not gonna lie: I was terrified. Would it live up to it’s former greatness? I made a special trip to check out the«new» Mr. Lucky’s on my way out of town and ordered a BLT to go. FYI, I only ever get the BLT from Mr. Lucky’s because it’s amazing. I chatted with the counter staff as they made my sandwich, asking if things had changed due to the new owner. They assured me that I’d be able to get any of the«old» sandwiches and informed me that they now served breakfast. Very friendly staff. BUT. When I got to my car and unwrapped my sandwich, it was clear in an instant that the abundance of amazing bacon that made a Mr. Lucky’s BLT so superior was NOTTHERE. Instead, there was an abundance of average lettuce! The bacon was the same quality; there was just a tiny amount. I don’t know about you, but I don’t order a BLT for the veggies. I was so sad. I’m still sad, and this happened weeks ago. Mr. Lucky’s, if you’re reading this, PLEASE return to the previous amount of bacon in the BLT. Otherwise, I’m afraid I will have to start looking around for my NEW favorite BLT. And, while that sounds delicious, it also sounds exhausting. Ain’t nobody got time for that!

It was a coworker’s birthday the other day, and he wanted Mr. Lucky’s for lunch, so off we went. I’ll admit that the sandwiches are actually pretty awesome. Two of us both had the Santa Fe– turkey, pepper jack cheese, your typical toppings and guacamole. They were generous with the guacamole, and with the whole sandwich really– I wish I would have realized that there was a half sandwich option. The birthday boy had the pizza sub and really enjoyed it, and I forget what my other friend ordered, but he liked his too. If you tell them it’s your first visit you get a free cookie, and I wholeheartedly recommend the peanut butter one. They have Boylan sodas in the fountain machine, which is a nice change of pace. Prices are reasonable. Unfortunately Mr. Lucky’s is really slow for sandwiches. We waited about half an hour for four sandwiches, so it’s just not very feasible for a regular lunch break option when other options(like Heidi’s) are much faster. I also wish they had more bread options. Mr. Lucky’s is great and I’d go back again if I’m ever in the neighborhood, but it probably won’t be a regular lunchtime stop for me.

It is a bit on the pricey side($ 10-$ 12 for wich and drink) and I could probably eat another half but it certainly is tasty. I had the TNT which was substantial enough for me, some of the other options appeared a bit too simple but I’m sure there’s a market for that. Small place, but there was plenty of seating all the orders were correct and we received free cookies for being first timers. Also, if you’re expecting a traditional NY hot pastrami you’re being a little hopeful… you know better, get a grip on your surroundings.

I’ve been driving past this little homegrown sandwich shop for years intending to stop in and give them a try but there is zero-none-nada parking ever available nearby and their delivery min. is $ 15 which is a little more than I can spend on just myself. But, as luck would have it(pun intended) there was a spot just around the corner so I snagged it and got«lucky». Told the extremely friendly counter guy that I was a «virgin» and asked him for recommendations. He said the French Dip and the Santa Fe were very popular. Not being much of a red meat eater I went with the turkey-centric Santa Fe. He threw in a freshly baked double chocolate cooke in honor of me losing my virginity. So, $ 8.50 and I was on my way in under five minutes. Could have opted for some chips(large display of plain and fancy) and/or a soda(ditto plain and fancy choices including Boylans). So, overall impression was good. Place is clean and bright and service was quick and friendly. The sandwich was a solid B+. Bread(baguette) is crisp/chewy and roughed up the roof of my mouth pretty good. The Santa Fe is pretty«saucy» with guac, chipotle mayo, and chipotle dressing. I’ll ask them to ease up on the juicy quotient next time or get them on the side. I’ll probably try one of their hot sandwiches instead though — Italian sausage sounds tempting with their homemade marinara. Pretty enormous selection of both hot and cold specialty sammies or build your own. A full is gonna run you $ 8−9ish. Half would actually be plenty supplemented with some chips and a cookie. Speaking of that cookie($ 1.75 post de-virginization) — I’d say it looked better than it ate. Not bad but not really sinful. They have several other flavors which might be worth trying(peanut butter, oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip, snickerdoodles) but I’m finicky about my baked good calories and I’ll skip these in the future. Really a solid little independent shop with a serious parking issue. I’ll never set foot in another Subway or Quizno’s that’s for sure even if I have to walk here. But, Vert Kitchen it is not. Good enough to file their flyer in my emergency takeout/delivery folder though.
