I’ve been here a few times for both frozen yogurt and cupcakes. I’ve had decent yogurt both times, many different flavors to choose from, but many weren’t yogurt. Topics were decent, but nothing special. Cute store though, nice and clean. I picked up a cupcake for a friend as a birthday gift. I haven’t tried them yet, but she raved about it.

Well, I mean… cupcakes. ‘Nuff said. Really though, I had a coupon for a free cupcake, and Milk & Cake is way outside my usual turf, so I was quite pleased to find myself in their neck of the woods last week. I beebopped on in to pick up my free cupcake. Based on Unilocal reviews and photos, I was expecting a vast display case with 9,000 different flavors to choose from, but it was actually a pretty small case. They still had a decent selection — enough that I had a tough time deciding. I landed on the lavender lemon poppy seed, took it to go, and headed home. I had every intention of waiting until after dinner to eat my cupcake, but somehow it went missing while I was making dinner. Here are my thoughts: 1. The cake was moist and fluffy, just like cake should be. 2. The lavender flavor was sweet and pleasant. Not perfumey — just right. 3. I LOVEFROSTINGANDTHEIRFROSTINGWASAMAZING. 4. It didn’t taste lemony at all — more like almond to me. I still loved it. No complaints. 5. I want another one.

If your in the mood for fro-yo I guess its okay. The flavored were not very nuanced, everything tastes similar… just sweet. There is no difference between a gelato and a low-fat here. Having Free tastes is nice though.

Like seriously OMG. Got a box of 12 different flavors and not a single one isn’t to-die-for! Salted caramel cupcake was created by Jesus! Mmmmm

I enjoyed the delicious lemmon poppy seed lavender cupcake and a great gluten free mint chocolate yogurt. The staff was really friendly with great service. Nice place to go for dessert. I will be coming back again.

Pros: They get mad kudos for creative cupcake flavors. I cannot STAND how most Denver cupcake shops have like 4 flavors. This place has great flavors – peanut butter banana, hello! Cons: I have been here several times, and this bakery has a very strange issue. They overuse almond extract. In everything. Even in desserts they should use vanilla extract, not almond, in. It creates a very disconcerting flavor in, a chocolate-on-chocolate cupcake, for example. I have even emailed the owner about it, and they just tell me I’m crazy. But I’m a baker myself, and I have even been told by a professional chef that I might qualify as a «super taster,» so I’m sorry, but I’m not crazy. If they’re not using almond extract, they’re using something that creates a very almond-y flavor in things that should have vanilla flavor. I’m so tired of their desserts being so hit-or-miss. Some days they taste great, and other days, I go, «Ugh. It tastes like almond again.» So I don’t know if I’ll go back at this point.

Second visit was much better than my first. The cupcakes are much more moist and flavorful. The red win cupcake was good, b I didn’t taste any hint of red wine flavor. The French toast cupcake on the other hand was on point! Great flavors, little too much frosting though.

I their champagne cupcake. It has just the right amount of sweetness without being overpowering. The buttercream is delicate and flavorful, and it has the perfect crust at the edges. The girls saved me three cupcakes behind the counter for my birthday since it happens to be on Valentine’s Day and they were slammed. I was so touched that they saved me several of my favorites for me and my family!

This was my second time to Milk & Cake, and my experience was about the same. Meh. The first time I stopped in was on a Sunday, and they only had day old cupcakes left. They were a little dry, but that was to be expected. I got a few different kinds and took them to a family dinner. They were not overly impressive, but a treat none the less. I went again yesterday, around 5PM to get some cupcakes for after dinner. Although this time they were baked same day they were still dry. The frosting was very hard and the actual came was crumbling everywhere. If I were to try this place again it would be earlier in the day to see if that improves the quality… But otherwise this won’t be a regular stop for me.

Nice staff, nice selection but closing at 8:30 is just odd, specially with all the restaurants and movie theatre around. For that reason I will have to find another shop.

I bought the Dining Out Denver book and it had a coupon for one free cupcake. I decided to come by after work for a little sugar pick me up. The service was great but I wasn’t very impressed with the cupcakes that I got. Not sure if it’s because I came later in the day but the cupcakes seemed very dry. I’ll have to come back to try the frozen yogurt though since I’m usually a big fan of froyo.

Great customer service! This was my partner and i’s first time visiting this place after I had received a box of cupcakes from Milk & Cake as a gift and loved them. The woman in the front was super patient as I struggled to make up my mind on which cupcakes I wanted(so many to choose from) she answered all of our questions, I got 1 large cupcake, 2 minus, frozen yogurt, and my partner went with just the frozen yogurt. This shop is super cute and clean with quality product, reasonable prices, and excellent service to top it off. We will be back to cure those sweet tooth cravings.

I stopped here on a whim since it was on my way home, and I was craving sweets… bad. I had some frozen yogurt, which was REALLY good at the time(but how can u mess that up), and got two cupcakes for my husband and me. I got the birthday cake and red velvet cake. When i got home I wanted to eat them both, but he caught me… darn:(I chowed into the birthday cake then tried the red velvet cake. The icing is fantastic, but they were both cream cheese(birthday cake not usually cream cheese), but the actual cake is kind of bland, like it’s unflavored or something. It definitely didn’t taste like birthday cake or red velvet. I was somewhat disappointed, but don’t get me wrong: I’d eat it again, but probably wouldn’t but it again. They were also a little small for the price. The parking lot is really busy, and good luck finding a spot!

It’s a frozen yogurt shop that also serves cupcakes. Went in at about 8:30 on a Tuesday night. The frozen yogurt was okay, but nothing really that special. They have a bunch of flavors, but I still just went with the plain tart, because nothing was so tasty that I had to have it. The cupcakes weren’t that great, and unfortunately they were down to about 2 flavors when we came in, and one of them was gluten-free. At this point frozen yogurt shops and cupcake shops are a dime a dozen, so you’ve got to be do something special or be really good to impress, and they were just alright.

Thanks to the Denver Dining Passport for including this place. I definitely had no idea there was a cupcake shop on my way home from work. In all fairness, cupcakes aren’t really my fave so it’s not like I’d been seeking them out, but nice to know one is conveniently nearby should the craving strike. I came in late one afternoon after work, and the shop was empty, but the girl working was really friendly and helped answer my questions about their flavors(they have a bunch!). I ended up settling on the German Chocolate(yum!) and thought it was pretty solid. As with all cupcakes, it was definitely more frosting than cupcake, but it was moist, yummy and chocolately. Two thumbs up.

I always drive past this place pretty much on the weekly, but never really gave it a second thought. Then after some yoga in the park with some girls, we decided to head over here since it was so close by. I was definitely pleasantly surprised. I wasn’t expecting them to have gelato flavors along with froyo. I immediately grabbed a few taste cups and went to work. I tried the fruitloops and it definitely tasted like fruitloops, but that didn’t quite hit the spot. I then sampled the crème brule gelato and black cherry yogurt. They were both silky smooth and the flavors weren’t too overwhelming, so I got a serving of each. I then came here a second time in a week just so I could grab more of the crème brule gelato. I also decided to try the rasberry gelato and that was of course, very tasty. I ordered the mini strawberry cupcake, but I have to admit I am not a cupcake fan and that sure didn’t change my mind. Otherwise definitely come by for some froyo/gelato.

Froyo is great, brownies are even better. Good selection, regularly rotated. Helpful staff and clean, comfortable seating area. Easy to find two for one deals on king soopers receipts and coupon mailers.

I had a salted toffee cupcake. I loved it. It wasn’t dry and the toffee topping was fresh. You can usually tell when toffee isn’t fresh. I also got the Crème Brule Gelato which was awesome! And the banana cheesecake which wasn’t as good but still very tasty. The bathrooms were clean! Love places that have clean up to date bathrooms!

I came here for the cupcakes and left with three regular size and a dozen minis. I ate the full size ones myself and enjoyed all of them thoroughly. The minis came with me to the office the next morning and everyone LOVED them and couldn’t stop asking me where I’d gotten them. The cupcakes were not dry at all, and had lots of frosting on them. Some of them come with filling, though not all. I really liked the double chocolate, raspberry lemonade, and lemon cupcake. The pink champagne was very beautiful but the taste just wasn’t my favorite. Maybe because I don’t like the taste of the beverage? :P Anyway, I will definitely come here again and have recommended everyone in my office visit then when they need cupcakes! I didn’t try their frozen yogurt but it looked really good(a couple ladies in front of me got big heaping cups) and they have tons of delicious looking toppings you put on yourself!

For what this place is, it deserves a solid rating. Frozen yogurt, cupcakes, and French press coffee. The most impressive aspect of Milk & Cake is their cupcake selection. There are easily 30+ flavors of colorful, fancy, and unique flavored cupcakes. When I say unique I mean in a good way like peanut butter banana or wedding cake. Additionally, they have a good offering of Gluten free cupcakes, as well as mini cupcakes and brownie cake squares. All are made and iced fresh daily, in house. The flavor varies from good to great, I wasn’t completely blown away, but considering each piece is neatly hand crafted, consuming the cupcakes is more of an all-around experience. Milk & Cake is a great place for a morning or afternoon date or get together. A side note, the place is spotlessly clean. The cashier(owner?) is always wiping down tables and counters, and the bathrooms are spotless too, a silly side note but the place is clean as heck. Cool.
