This place definitely holds up to all of the other good coffee shops in the neighborhood, so it will be a place that I will go often. I had a vanilla latte and I must say, it was very smooth. My son got a hot chocolate and when I tried it, I was surprised at how great it was. Both kids and adults will like this small, quaint shop. I wasn’t really impressed with their food options, just a few overly sweet pastries available, but I will look again another day.

My friend Eric knows only 6 things: presidents, skiing, national parks, lncRNAs, beer, and, most relevant to this review, coffee. I asked him for a recommendation for a quiet coffee shop, and Metropolis was at the top of his list. It’s a serious coffee shop. No outlets, a few scattered tables, and The Mountain Goats was playing when I walked in.

This is my favorite coffee shop in Denver but my biggest complaint is inconsistency. I find it just a tiny bit frustrating that no two lattes here ever taste the same. The biggest positive is that they use Herkimer coffee and it definitely provides a uniqueness to their drip. The pastries are usually pretty good and there is a nice atmosphere.

Coffee is great, but man they need to work on the service as I’ve been here enough times to see a pattern. A bit friendlier and just getting the little things right would make me move this up to four or five stars.

What can I say, they have some epic coffee and a really cool laid back modern vibe. I had the Guatemala cold brew and it was definitely in the top 3 best cold brews I’ve had. This is not a big box coffee shop, when you want a «real» cup of coffee Metropolis is where you should be.

My go to coffe shop almost every morning. The cold brew is amazing… I may be addicted.

This place is an understated little gem a block from the 16th St pedestrian bridge with no-frills indoor/outdoor space. The baristas are friendly. The iced lattes hit the spot. Did I mention the homemade empanadas? They go quickly, but are quite the supplemental treat.

Cold brew coffee was great, thanks to the barista for complimentary apple fritters at closing time.

Hey thanks Mattie! Everyone was nice and had a nice cup of joe. I didn’t get any food. Initially my coffee wasn’t hot enough and Mattie was SUPER sweet about making it correct! Will be back!

Favorite new coffee shop! So glad they took over happy coffee which I was not a fan of. There is now so much more open space, a better menu and great coffee.

Love Love Love their coffee! The décor is beautiful, the staff is great, and so knowledgeable. Quite a different spin on your typical coffee shops that are loaded with too much sugar and syrup to mask the actual taste of the coffee. This place takes a lot of pride in discovering the perfect beans, and making the perfect cup.

We decided to finally check this little coffee shop out on a Saturday morning and it’s great! Since Denver doesn’t begin to stir until 9:30/10AM on the weekends, we had the place pretty much to ourselves and with that sun streaming in and all that distressed wood, it made for the perfect spot. Also, EMPANADASANDPOPTARTS. Nuff said, right? I drink a lot of almond milk lattes and they make a very fine one here. The foam was velvety and I loved the taste of the espresso they use. And tiny spoons because some of use need that last spoonful of foam at the bottom of the cup. I will say that their coffee menu wasn’t spelled out all that clearly. My husband was thinking about getting a pour over but was kind of intimidated about ordering it(he’s usually a black coffee drinker) and since there didn’t seem to be a sign, he skipped it. I know we’ll be back. If only for the empanadas!

I visited here for the first this morning for a business meeting. We were greeted warmly upon entering and the ladies who served us were kind and engaged. My almond milk latte was wonderful, really wonderful, which is very hard to find. The only reason I withhold a 5-star rating is the lack of space and the volume(it was so loud I had a hard time hearing my colleague a foot in front of me). Parking was fine at 9:00am. I would still visit again for the quality of coffee and service.

Metropolis coffee is a great coffee joint! I really love their atmosphere, it’s warmly lit, quiet and they have real little succulents and orchids on all the tables. The use of wooden countertops and wooden patio furniture helps add to that calming earthy aesthetic which I love. The downside is their sparse menu. They’ll make you a mocha sure but this place is more for the seasoned coffee drinker who enjoys Americanos and cappuccino. Maybe I’m not educated enough with my coffee drinking like I am with my beer drinking but the service is always good, prices reasonable and the view of Denver in the morning from here is fantastic(although there’s condos being built that will block the view!).

Good coffee and atmosphere, but not a single outlet if you ever want to bring your laptop and stay a while. Staff wasn’t friendly… I felt like I was annoying them by ordering a cup of coffee.

Great coffee! Soy mocha with the perfect amount of chocolate. Lack of enthusiasm as far as customer service goes. Didn’t seem to want to be bothered.

These people are serious about their coffee, and it shows. I stopped for a cup to go, and I realized my mistake. This is a place to order a cup of pour-over and sit for a while. It’s not a cheap cup of coffee; it’s meant to be enjoyed slowly out of a real ceramic cup. My to-go cup was delicious, but I felt like I was doing it a disservice by drinking it while walking my dog. The café is simple, the menu is simple, but both are satisfying and enjoyable.

I like the coffee in this little shop. They make a rich quality espresso along with a number of by the cup coffees. The patio has a great overlook to downtown. Only three stars because the coffee is great but they don’t have a single outlet for your electronics.
