Delicious! I’ve only had Ethiopian a few other times and am a fan for sure. Mesob was recommended to me by a young woman from Ethiopia whose father owned a different restaurant for 30+ years. She was right on. Give it a try.

Food is really good and fresh. Waiter was a sweetheart and the chef came to our table to see if everything was okay. I recommend this spot which is open late! The veggie plater is very good.

Wonderful meal and great atmosphere! We had the assorted vegetable + injera plate and it was delicious! Hearty portion — 2 of us couldn’t even finish it. Our food came pretty quickly and the server /owner was friendly. The space is large and lovely, the soothing Ethiopian Jazz playing in the background was great and the whole atmosphere was calm. Heartily recommended.

Delicious. I got the meat sampler and my wife(vegetarian) got the veggie sampler. We were both stuffed and delighted by the end of our meal.

My wife and I have been coming here for 4 years! We have tried many other Ethiopian restaurants around Denver. Mesob is by far the best Ethiopian place in town! Their meat combo and veggie combo are to-die-for! Highly recommended!!!

On a recent Friday night, we decided to venture to an Ethiopian restaurant we hadn’t yet tried. After some debate, Mesob was the winner. Housed in a former Mexican restaurant(I know that because there’s still some old signage hanging around outside), the layout is large and open. A big bar area sits at the far end flanked by two TV’s, with a third TV in the dining area. The table sets are all regular tables and chairs but one lone traditional mesob surrounded by wicker chairs sits in the corner. It was a quiet Friday night. As expected, one server was taking care of everyone. We had a hard time communicating with her, though she was very nice. She couldn’t understand which kind of wine I wanted, even though I pointed to it on the menu. I think they were out of the chardonnay I chose because I was presented with two generous wine samples, a red and a white, to try and decide which one I wanted. Free wine is always alright with me! I didn’t notice traditional honey wine on the menu. We ordered a veggie combo to share, zilzil tibs for me, and doro wot for Mr. P. The zilzil tibs was overcooked. I usually don’t eat meat that charred but it was actually edible and, obviously, I wasn’t going to send it back and wait around for a replacement. Otherwise, everything else was quite tasty. Our kind server made sure we had plenty of water, injera, and napkins. Strangely enough, spaghetti and meatballs is on the menu. So, I guess this is the place you can bring your friend who doesn’t really like Ethiopian food. Plenty of parking is available in the lot across the street behind Ace Hardware.

Wonderful place!!! The best Eithiopian food in Denver! Super friendly staff as well. They accommodated our group of 14 plus 3 small children! I highly recommend trying this place you will not be disappointed! We all tried a wide variety of dishes and everything was delicious! The owner came out and talked to everyone in the restaurant, making sure everyone was satisfied. Come check this place out!

Great Ethiopian food just off of Colfax. The vegetable dishes are especially tasty and have wonderful flavor. I think if I went back I would just order vegetable dishes because the texture pairs so well with the injera.

I was looking for this place sometime last year on syracuse, and noticed they were no longer in that location. I feared they had actually closed, and I had missed my opportunity for the Kitfo and Goden Tibs! At one time I was eating here weekly, and then due to an ill family member I stopped coming so frequently, a friend told me recently that the location was moved and they were in fact still open. I came this evening 2⁄17 to find the awesome welcoming and friendly attitude, and incredible food I had some 2 – 3 years back and nothing had changed but the location. Sorta like stepping back into your«mom’s kitchen». Simply amazing!!! Apparently a lot of customers are not aware that the new location on Poplar is the same as the one from Syracuse. I hope everyone else gets the word out as I will try to, and everyone know this«diamond» is still standing strong. I will be back for sure… thank you!!!

The choice was made by a Groupon. It was a success. The food was some of the tastiest I have ever had at an Ethiopian restaurant. We had the meat platter and the vegetable platter to taste, as well as one other dish I don’t remember the name of. An added feature, which I’m not sure how repeatable this is, was that we walked in on a private event. An Ethiopian baptism. We were seated off to the side, but enjoyed some music and dancing. DT

I felt like I was back in Africa! The kindness, community, and delicious food. Do the coffee ceremony and plan to stay awhile, chat, get to know the folks around you. I can’t say enough of how wonderful the food, service, atmosphere was! If you need a buddy let me know! I would be happy to go with you!

I must say I was really impressed. Their place was great on Syracuse but this was awesome. The new location is a great atmosphere. The staff and the owner were incredibly welcoming. The food… First off, best Shiro in the city by far. The veggie combos were delightful. Stayed for over three hours and drank our share of coffee. Thank you all for a wonderful time. Can’t wait to be back.
