Any chicken that you get here that looks like it is balls of dough, skip it. Their spicy jalapeño chicken is really really good for the price. But I have tried both the orange chicken and the sesame chicken and I am not exaggerating one bit when I say that I bit each bite in half and there was not a single shred of chicken in it. It is literally fried balls of dough. Great flavor! But essentially a doughnut covered in sesame sauce. But like I said the chicken dishes that look like chicken, are great. As are the sides. Just skip any chicken that looks doughy and fried. Trust me.

i went to the address listed for this place(3350 downing st) and while it doesn’t seem to be called«ly’s asian express» anymore, there is still a chinese food place there and i figured i’d give it a shot. worst decision ever. i don’t know if it’s a completely different place or if it’s the same place with a different name but this is without a doubt the worst chinese food i’ve ever eaten in my life. yeah, it’s cheap as shit but if you can’t eat it, what’s the point? i absolutely hate wasting food a) because i love food and b) because i feel bad doing so but after choking down about ¼ of it i threw it away. trust me, it’s that god-awful

I can’t say that the food is great(a little better than okay, almost good), but the price is really, *really* nice. I’ve certainly had worse Chinese food, and paid a lot more for it in this town. I’d say this place does the job A-OK, and I’m sure I’ll return for another«cheap and lazy» evening in the future. Did I mention that $ 8 fed two of us?

I’ve been living in Downtown Denver for 4years now and haven’t been able to find chinese food that was both inexpensive and good. The places that are cheap are unedible and the places that are really good are wayyy too expensive. I have a few spots in SW Denver /Littleton that I usually go to. But sometimes I need my Chinese fix and don’t want to go through a lot of effort. I usually am not in this neighboorhood but found myself passing it one day and I had a taste for some Chinese so I swong in and for $ 7 I got 4 items, some fried rice and a can of soda. Took it home, had to reheat it and tried the food most of it was actually pretty good, not great but decent. And for the price you can’t go wrong, I’ve since been back again and enjoyed it just as much. Again It’s definetly not great Chinese but it definetly is good considering the price and super fast in & out service. Give em a try

This is probably the best food for your money Chinese establishment we have been to in a while. The sign reads $ 1.25 per scoop, well what they really mean per four or five scoops. I love place that are delicious and serve you exorbitant amount of food so you can enjoy it for at least two more meals. I believe that Ly’s used to be Choy Kee, there was a «Grand Opening» sign below so I don’t believe that the owners have had it very long. The woman who worked behind the counter was very friendly. I had the jalapeño chicken and the beef with broccoli. Our group also tried the Mongolian Beef, the Orange Chicken, the Penang Curry and the friend rice. There were no complaints and happy faces all around! These are the sort of places you hope will stay around for a long time, so visit Ly’s and support the new guy.
