Great bar on Broadway, and it gets PACKED almost any night of the week. Their happy hour specials are 11 – 7, so do yourself a favor, skip the crowds, and come midday. They have different HH specials everyday too. Wednesday is Ladies Day and we get half off of any wine! Hello! Great beer selection on tap, yummy food, but the bartenders can be a bit douchey. Just make my drink, I don’t care. Just don’t spend all your time talking to the girls trying to get free drinks. But, don’t miss out on the fried cheese curds!

I am blown away that I’ve never reviewed Historians. This place is indeed, as the rating states, as good as it gets. I have been here for drinks, afternoon and evening meals, and most commonly these days, brunch. So let’s talk about that for a quick moment, shall we? Bottomless mimosas. And they do NOT mess around here. The staff walks around with a pitcher of champagne with roughly 2 tablespoons of OJ in it. That’s my kind of action. The food is delicious, the prime rib hash is a must! Jess is huge fan of the Spanish Hangover, but you really cannot go wrong with anything. If you come outside of breakfast hours the sandwiches here are phenomenal as are the accompanying house made fries. Beer list. Yes. Absolutely fantasticly humongously wonderfully awesome. So do that. Whatever your taste buds are they will be satisfied. Service. Never short of impeccable. So in summation, I would like to simply say SWEETSONUVAMONKEYSPANK! Bring yo’ booty down here! Cheers!

I genuinely enjoy this place. Whether it’s summer time or winter time, I’ve always had good experiences here. I am a huge fan of their lunch special… $ 5.95 for a burger and a small beer or fountain beverage. Their portions are honestly big enough to split, since I can never finish mine. There are other great things on their menu and I think they have weekly or daily specials. Service is generally pretty quick and professional. I will definitely continue coming back as a regular patron.

I have been to Historians for brunch, dinner, and some evening drinks. It has been pretty solid for all of them! I am going to start with brunch because honestly I kind of hate brunch in big cities. not because of the food(thats amazing) but because of the crowds and people. Brunch has become this stupid trendy overpriced fad that requires 2+ hour waits and listening to tons of hungover white girls talk about OMGLASTNIGHTWASSO… shoot me in the face. Historians was a nice change of pace from that. No wait and great reasonably priced food! Plus the bloody mary bar was on point. Next up was dinner/lunch. They have some really great sandwiches here. I mean REALLY great. The place is pretty big too so there are plenty of spots to sit both inside and on the rooftop upstairs. Only drinking? Yeah thats pretty good too. They have something like 40+ beer taps. The few times I have been there is always some good unique stuff, standard easy to find craft, and some macros. The service has always been pretty decent. maybe a tad slow when its crazy busy but nothing to complain a ton about. My only problem? I live in RiNo and don’t get down that way much. I should probably try more since I like plenty of spots in Baker.

My husband I wandered in here at the suggestion of a friend. The beer selection is awesome, as are the prices and ambiance. The food left much to be desired and I like pub grub. Our chicken tenders looked like enormous fried oysters, aka burned. The cheese curds tasted like old oil too. The manager took great care of us though and I’d love to go back for the beers at least.

I want to give this place more stars because their upstairs patio is so nice, but unfortunately it is consistently sub par. The food seems cool but it’s often badly cooked and the service is just okay. I don’t blame the servers and bartenders, though. Bad service is often due to lack of assistance and enthusiasm from management(I’ve worked in many restaurants). The beer options are quite good but seriously over priced. If you’re looking for an alternative, head north on Broadway to The Fainting Goat. Actually, don’t. That place is already too busy and I need a table for me :).

I never knew the bounty of goodness that was in this place until recently. Better late than never, I suppose! So let’s cut to the chase. Reasons to love it: great happy hour, great selection of beverages whether you’re looking for beer, wine, cocktails or food. I found myself staring at the beer menu for a long time because there were just too many good things to choose from. Sat on the rooftop and enjoyed the views while munching away on some happy hour goodies, mainly queso with chips, and some green chili cheese fries. Yes, I ate junk and I loved it. Sometimes a girl just has to grub on beer and bar food because it’s necessary. It was chilly out with the sun setting but there are heaters, but I’ll warn you they don’t get too hot. There were 4 of us just huddled around the thing at one point. Bring a coat because the seasons are a-changin’! Last but not least, we had the most awesome waitress. She was accommodating despite our pickiness about seating and where we wanted our table. She was just awesome. I’ll be back!

Love this place! We came here for happy hour and they have some great specials! Over the lunch hour, for $ 6 you get a cheeseburger, fries and a beer! The food is fantastic as well — perfectly cooked and presented in a paper package. They also have a special for most of their beers, $ 2.50 for a 10oz glass! The rooftop patio is large with a couple different levels. It has some TVs outside and heaters for cooler days/nights but get ready to climb some stairs to get all the way up there. Downstairs is really cute with some booths and hightops but I would guess at night it gets pretty crowded. Saw that they have a brunch menu as well so I would love to come try their brunch sometime soon.

I love Historians for many reasons. 1. Dry dock apricot blonde on tap 2. Tasteful décor 3. Great rooftop with mist on a 90 degree day 4. Full bar 5. Great bartenders 6. Delicious food I’ve been here like 5 times. Finally tried their breakfast today and I was quite pleased. We got the $ 4 bloody mary bar and it was really good! $ 10 mimosas were also excellent. Both were mixed very well. For the bloody mary bar they give u a glass of vodka and u have a choice of spicy or regular along with tons of additions like pickles, the classic celery, garlic, lemons, lime, Tabasco, worcherschire, etc. Two thumbs up! The food was also delicious.

Close friends of ours had brunch at the place next door and were intrigued by this place. We went with them for happy hour this evening. The place has a great atmosphere. The main part of the bar is done all in wood and has an English pub feel. The bar is huge with tables and booths. Upstairs is a huge patio, both covered and uncovered with tables of varying sizes. The Historians has a huge selection of beers in a variety of sizes. The cocktail list is short but good, all though a bit pricy. Didn’t stop me from getting two Corpse Revivers #2. We all ordered various appetizers and happy with all of them. The service was great. I wish I had discovered this place during the summer, would be great to have happy hour on the patio in the warm weather. We will all be coming back again… SOON.

Nice patio, didn’t eat so solely basing this review on our service. Colleen was a delight. She immediately greeted us and was cheery and encouraging about the beers. The beer list is lengthy, and we told her we just wanted something light. Without asking she brought us over a sample of the pumpkin beer, and the ales they offered. Good service is hard to come by these days, so Colleen here’s to you girl! I would come back if I was on broadway just drinking. I glanced at the menu and it didn’t really see anything appetizing, classic pub food. Not to say if I was hungry I wouldn’t eat here, but I don’t think this place advertises having amazing food by any means. They have a hundred beers to choose from!

Oh Historians… If you weren’t such a cool venue I don’t think we’d ever step foot in your establishment again. Your rooftop patio is amazing. Your old school feel on the main level is beautiful. Your rooftop bar is so convenient during a Sunday brunch. But your food… Work on it. When Someone orders a brisket sandwich, I don’t think they’re expecting to have to swim through a gallon of bbq sauce to find the meat, bread, and French fries. I can honestly say I threw 100% of that to-go order away last night. So gross.

Great cheeseburger happy hour and wide local draft selection. LOADS of french fries included. Not sure how I feel about the wrapped butcher paper the burger and fries were served in. Unique, but it was awkward to have at the bar. Look forward to going back to check out the night crowd.

Been here on multiple occasions, so figured it’s time for a review! Great happy you — huge beer selection. The servers know their stuff too. Fun atmosphere — laid back, not a dive but relaxed. High top tables downstairs and high top at the bar on the roof and regular tables too. The roof is where it’s at though. Some of the best chili cheese fries in Denver, ok prime rib nachos, good hummus plate, but needs more veggies for the amount of hummus.

As others have noted, the best part of the Historians is the rooftop. On a nice day, it’s unbeatable. The other great part: a phenomenal happy hour. You can do quite a few 5 oz. options for a really great price. Love the selection, including ciders and sour beers too. I’ve had a few things to eat as well. Nothing that’s going to bowl you over, but it works when you’re hungry and really looking for some brews. The green chili fries are great, and the fried pickles with ranch are another guilty pleasure. South Broadway is a fun stretch – and the Historians is a great place to stopover at. The service is nothing stellar. I feel as though they’re slower than they should be, especially for all the traffic they get. If they can get it together with service, they’ll keep climbing in my book.

Historians is a fun place to spend a late night or a happy hour drinking affordable beer! Happy Hour specials are 2.50 for most of their beers!(10 oz pours which is pretty chintzy but I guess I’ll forgive that.) Food-wise its all just ok. Typical bar fare. Nothing earth shattering but will fill you up when you’ve had one too many. The only negative is that SOME beers are INSANELY pricey. Like crazy.

Service is very slow for whatever ungodly reason. The upstairs patio is great to sit out on a nice, sunny day, but don’t come here if you’re pressed for time. This place is also pricey for what you actually get. We ordered the jalapeño basket for $ 8.95. That was a total ripoff. We received a really small basket of sliced, deep-fried jalapenos and onion strings. If you put all the jalapeño strips together, it would come out to about three medium sized jalapenos. Not worth $ 8.95! Most of our party opted for their happy hour cheeseburger special for $ 5.95. It comes with a beer of choice or a soda. That would be a great deal, but the fries that came with it were soggy and gross. If you wanted a piece of lettuce and tomato, it would be $ 1.50 extra. I also got charged for a side of ranch that never came. The burger itself was average for store-bought, pre-formed patties. The Pepsi I got with the meal tasted weird like they haven’t cleaned the bar guns in a long time. The only positive in this experience was the mimosas for $ 6 a piece. Overall, a very underwhelming experience.

This is a wonderful place! I’ve enjoyed a lunch in booths and an afternoon on the roof! Both times the staff was great! The food was wonderful, salad as well as cheese curds! The beer selection is great and always changing and offering interesting new things to taste. Definitely on the rotation!

Sadly i don’t get to this part of town much, but this place might make it more worth it! The patio, oh my goodness, the patio, so awesome. We just went for drinks, but i couldn’t pass up the cheese curds, which were amazing. Definitely now on my list of places to hang out this summer!

Super cool retro victorian atmosphere. Great beer menu. Great brunch menu. Service was professional and attentive. Prices were on the low end. Yeah! We enjoyed to small/medium/large pour options for ordering drafts. The brunch menu had amazing sounding food. We ordered the Spanish Hangover and it was scrumptious. They had no problem switching out sides for us. Fresh fruit! Huzzah! Why not 5 stars? The tables are small and really, really close together AND there are thin standing-room-only bars crammed down the center aisle(in between the dining tables and the actual bar) so walking through the restaurant is impossible. Also, you have no privacy. So, if you love eavesdropping, this place is for you. If you hate loud talkers, it is not. Since it has been raining for weeks here(!!!) we could not check out the rooftop patio. I am assuming that area is less claustrophobic, but can’t verify. While we enjoyed our brunch, I’m not sure I would go back when it is busy. Maybe a lazy afternoon in between meals.
