High Country House Apartments

Don’t move here! Management refuses to turn on the building air conditioning! It’s over 90 degrees in my apartment. The roof leaks and repair and maintenance is horrific. Wish we could get out if our lease. Counting the days until we can get out if this dump.

Never lived there, but a couple weeks ago I scheduled a time to meet with the leasing manager (can’t remember her name) to see an apartment and she didn’t show for the appointment.
I drove from near Boulder to come see the place… she knew that. I wanted to see the place on the weekend, but totally left it to her to choose which day and the time.
She confirmed my phone # prior to meeting. I was a 10 – 15 minutes late getting there (damn Cherry Creek street festival). Nobody around. Tried calling… no answer, so I left a message. I waited around, took a walk to check out the area… still nobody around.
I wasn’t happy, but better than signing a lease and having to put up with that kind of service.

I lived there for over a year and couldn’t be happier to have moved out. For the price they charge (FYI They raise rent with no improvements to the building) you can find a better place with more amenities. It may take more work to find a good place but that’s because people actually don’t want to move out. They tell you free heater and air however they don’t tell you that only one can be run at a time for the whole building so they choose when it’s heater time and airconditioner time. This is a switch for the season so you have to deal with an extremely cold place in the beginning of fall and a very very hot apartment in the spring. Everything is thin single pane windows that you can hear anything outside. I lived on the fifth floor and could hear conversations in the parking lot. Also paid underground parking has leaks that will almost surely make your car dirty like mine kept getting. There is also an odd smell in the lobby that is almost embarrassing when you have people come over and that’s the first impression. I constantly got random calls from the call box of people trying to get in when they can’t reach their party. These calls go to your phone. There were no cable hookups in the rooms so I had to pay comcast to run wires for me so it’s not completely cable ready. Also don’t expect to get any security deposit back due to Nickle and diming. I take pride in my homes and left it spotless but they still found a way to keep it. Also packages left when you are not home go to the mail room where the apartment manager has to let you in but they work 9 – 6 m-​f and off on the weekends so you better be home in time or you have to wait the weekend. Oh and don’t forget a leaking roof in the rain. Their solution just cover it up while it’s damp. Couldn’t even begin to imagine the mold that could produce. Let’s just say having gotten a four bedroom house in cherry creek north for $ 100 a month more is well worth the money.

Great Place to Live! The new manager is full of energy, and really cares about the community and residents. If you have a choice pick this place. Great location also!!!
