No bueno. I had the #7 chicken and it was like having a ladle of soup poured on a tortilla. No cilantro, no rice, no beans, no onions, no tomatoes, barely any chicken. Not authentic. Not Mexican. Never to return.

Damn Good Burritos Period Best breakfast burrito in town. Great flavor and exceptional price. I use to work close by and would visit about once a week. When there’s a line out the door every morning, you know it darn good. …now I want a #1. Darn it!

The makeover is a mixed blessing. Love that they take credit cards now, but they took super nachos off the menu. These were awesome and made with homemade chips. With Gomez I’ve always felt u knew what you were getting and it was great! However today was a mess. Long wait and they didn’t have the Mexican hamburger I ordered(even after making sure they did) after they didn’t have the first item I had tried to order(super nachos). They told me no Mexican burger was available but they could make me the super nachos. When we finally got the food the order was wrong(paid for a large and got a small chili fry) and the nachos tasted like very dirty fryer oil. I’ll be going back for burritos but the wife said she won’t return. Burritos are good though.

This place says they open @5am and the employees don’t open up the doors until sometimes 520 or later!!! Not professional at all and to top it off they never apologize and are extremely rude, not a very good way to get return business. I like the breakfast but its pretty pathetic that they expect people to wait until they are ready to open the doors at later than when they are SUPPOSED to open!!! Lost a lot of business from the company I work for and my friends!!! Get it together!!!

We stopped by today when craving a breakfast burrito. It did not disappoint, really great green chilli. Tortillas could have been better, but that was the only minus. We will definitely be back.

By far one of the best burrito joints in Denver. The #3 is the best breakfast burrito in my travels. Love the hot green chili. The biggest problem is the word is getting out and the wait can be long.

Food is amazing I could eat a burrito there every day. But man they are so rude there every day. But just cause they are rude doesn’t mean I will stop eating there.

Some of the best green chile in town and no way to beat the price, .99 breakfast or bean burritos, in a work — great. I usually go to their 78th Ave location, which for some reason is not listed here on Unilocal

I go to this place about once a week. It’s good, its cheap, and it has great green chiles. Don’t go in there expecting gourmet burritos. They advertise $ 1 burritos, for christ sake. But their $ 1 breakfast burrito is worth every penny, and then some. I wish they were open at night, I’d eat there a whole lot more often

99 cents buys you a tortilla with a bit of egg and potato in it. the employees look pissed off and the fat tattooed cook in particular is well versed in profanity. this place is low rent.

I love this place, great Chili Rellenos, and the chili was spicy and flavorful! The only bad part is they dont bring the food to the table, seems weird to me to carry a hot plate to my table, then there were 5 girls just standing behind the counter? Oh well, its close to my work and its a nice mexican food fix when I need it — will return!!!

I’ve never had a bad burrito at Gomez Burritos. I will leave home early in the morning just to go out of my way to get a couple of these tasty Burros. The breakfast buritos are my favorite but all of there food is delicious. When I stop in the morning on the way to work, I get 2 #1’s with beef Hot! I’m in and out in a matter of a minute or two,(and this place is always packed!) and on my way to work. Delidious! And enexpensive to boot. Two burittos — $ 4.30. They are bigger than Santiagos as a well. A very good deal. Thanks Gomez Burritos! You have a faithfull customer in me! =] –MK

The tacos are pretty good. The Burrito i had was a little off putting and sloppy but delicios. I had a Breakfast bowl and it wasnt what was i expecting but was FRIGGINDELICIOUS. I had it with steak in a green chili sauce with beans. The Chunks of meat were massive. And it was reasonable. A Co worker gets the Tamales when they have them. Never tried em and they look small to me, but he said they were delicious.

Whaat Tha!!! I grew up in North Denver and had some great breakfast burritos this is how I judge a good burrito…(North Side Denver — Chubby’s, Camargos etc) First thing they don’t take credit cards, so they charge a 2.00 per withdraw ATM fee. pretty sad. Although I made the trip,(If it weren’t for low blood sugar — I would have gone to the North Side for breakfast!) After hearing Unilocalers give it a good rating. I opted to do the deal so I ordered the number 3 bacon &4 steak… Gomez burritos are… OK…nothin to rave about, nothing to travel across town for(I travel across town to Denver to eat at Camargo’s — home made tortillas, beans, chile — tha best! in town!) Gomez burritos had ALL potato filling, very little egg(my protein) so both burritos consisted mainly of potatoes w/very little chili, and the little bit of chile that was in it was not very good. So my take on «Gomez burritos». A mouthful of Potatoes, well I’ll say It’s edible but that’s it… I won’t be back especially due to the credit card charge of 2.00 per transaction. This is 2010! Not the 80s!!! 95% of ALL Transactions these days is with Credit. Credit Cards etc!!! Save yourself some trouble and skip this place… Gomez Burritos… — Naaa I’ll pass…

I was there on a Saturday, and apparently they close at 12:00PM on a Saturday? I was unaware until I showed up and they told me when I was ordering. I tried to order Chicken Taquitos; however, because it was about 30 minutes before closing they said they had already turned off the fryer for the day so if I wanted to wait it would be 20 minutes before they could get them out to me. I decided the heck with it and switched to Chicken Tacos. Now, I realize that I was at a place called Gomez Burritos and I ordered tacos… but I wasn’t up for a 2000 calorie lunch so my options were limited. Their Chicken Tacos came in premade shells, and while I thought they were alright, my fiancé could only choke down two of them. He said he could tell that it was ‘low quality meat’ and he doesn’t have a high tolerance for spice so he couldn’t finish them. I would not recommend these tacos for a child or someone that easily gets heart burn. The beans were standard and the rice was really bad. REALLY bad. It was closer to Mexican rice then I have had at several places, but it was still bad. I could taste the grease, but no flavor. I decided to forgo it after a test bite, and a second bite. The price was okay, and I do have to give them credit because even though they couldn’t make what I ordered, what I switched to was more expensive then my original plate and they didn’t charge me more. The fountain drink selection looked pretty limited but they sort of make up for it with a couple of well stocked fridges holding bottled beverages. All and all I have to say I’m actually pretty disappointed, perhaps it’s because I had higher expectations from the stellar previous reviews or maybe it’s because I didn’t order a burrito. I am not sure. I don’t know that I will be back to try something else…

My review will agree with Cass’s… well, because I was there with her. I got there at 11:30a and all the chairs were on the tables. Honestly, I thought they were just opening. No no, they were closing… at noon? Not exactly the recipe for a successful restaurant. I brought my 8 y.o. son. They don’t have a kid’s menu, or any kid friendly portions. I order him a some chips and salsa and a beef taco. I ordered huevos rancheros. The chips my son had look like deep fried flour torillas squares, instead of the standard ones made of corn. The taco was a basic Taco Bell-style taco in a hard shell with mystery meat. My son was pretty unenthusiatic. It’s probably the first time I’ve seen him not eat chips. Come to think of it, it’s the first time I’ve seen ANY kid not eat chips. He didn’t think to highly of the taco either. My heuvos rancheros weren’t too bad. It looked a lot like bean soup though, with the egg and everything underneath. Maybe they thought, well it’ll all be mixed the hell up in your belly, so we’ll just help you. I can comfortably say I won’t be back. There’s too many really good Mexican restaurants in Denver for me to seek this place out again.

I did not make a special trip here just for cheap burritos, no no no sir. I was along for the ride with a buddy of mine on the way to a bike expo, VeloSwap at the Denver Stock Arena on a Saturday morning. My friend works out this way and told me the word on the street is that Gomez has the best breakfast burritos in the area. Ok, I guess I had no choice. I picked up two breakfast burritos here, very fast service, in and out lickity split. [Being a Gomez burrito virgin, I’ve never heard of the place.] 1 bean and cheese breakfast burrito and 1 egg and potato breakfast burrito, both with their hot salsa/sauce. $ 2.14 was my total! Sweet! Already, my stomach was punching me with excitement [or was pissed off already knowing I made a bad decision], «Breakfast Burrito! Breakfast Burrito! Breakfast Burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrito!» [My stomach sometimes thinks it is Mexican, not sure why?] I opened up the aluminum foil to find a nice sized filled tortilla, dripping with the filling inside. The bean and cheese burrito was blah, not all that great. But, if I would have tossed in some chorizo or ham, this burrito would have taken off! The egg and potato burrito was much better than the bean just as it was, much better in my personal taste test. The salsa definitely had a kick, but I love my food spicy. [I was even warned it was going to be hot.] The burritos were very very good for the cheap price, upgrades to meat and other items bring a maximum price tag of $ 4.00 per item, still amazing. But, I stuck to my guns, well, stuck to my $ 4.00 I had in my pocket and was ready for the punishment or pleasant surprise. If I am ever in the area again, I’d definitely be tempted to get more Gomez breakfast burritos.

I’m working at a client’s office in Denver this week, and for lunch I was on my own, so I fired up the Unilocal iPhone app and asked for restaurants near me. First review I saw was Dom G’s review of Gomez Burritos, and since I was only ½ a block away, I decided to give it a whirl. As a word of caution, their parking lot is quite rough in the snow, and the place doesn’t look like much from the outside, but once you get inside, the staff was all warm and friendly and greeted everyone that came in the door. I decided to try the #4 steak, egg, potato, and green chili burrito, but since I had the time to eat there, I got it smothered with chili, lettuce, tomato, and sour cream. The smothered burrito, glass of water, and tax was $ 4.36. I lived in Denver 10 years ago, and had forgotten the cities fascination with smothering everything in chili. But this burrito was as good as it gets. They brought out the standard 9″ burrito to my table in about 3 minutes and every bite of it was delicious! Oh, and I ordered it extra hot, and Dom wasn’t kidding about those chilis! Whoa! My mouth was on fire for at least 30 minutes after leaving. I talked to the guy behind the counter(didn’t catch his name) and I told him I found him on Unilocal. He said he’s been hearing a lot of that lately. Gomez just opened a 2nd store somewhere in north Denver, but I’m not sure where. He said their bottled chili sauce also won an award last year too. Again, no details, but I’m planning on going back so I’ll try to find out! Oh, and they don’t accept credit cards, but they do have an ATM on site. Make sure you bring cash! Jamie
