It’s closed… the one that is close by the Hyatt at the tech center. We walked over there ready for a tasty meal and there are signs saying closed and up for auction. Too bad…

Updated my review I just ate there and now I read they are closing and an auction to boot! So sad I loved Garcia’s!

It’s a challenge finding decent Mexican food that delivers in South Denver, and sadly I can only give Garcia’s one star on account of their disgusting customer service. Ordered tilapia and a burrito tonight, that were both surprisingly decent, and received much sooner than the 90 – 120 minute estimate. I’ve read the horror stories of the great avocado shortage of 2015 in Australia, but to the best of my knowledge, we here state side, have been spared such an atrocity, so I’m not sure why the average side of guac has sky rocketed to $ 2, but I’ll deal. After opening the bag of goodies, my 2 $ guac was missing and I immediately called the restaurant. After being passed around to 3 different people, I was finally on the line with someone who only identified himself as «yes, I’m the manager» when he answered. I explained my dilemma, and was told only«I can’t help you, if you want guacamole, you can come pick it up». No apologies, only total apathy, and dbag attitude. Thanks, but no thanks. Next time I’ll happily head to the nearest Chipotle before every ordering or setting foot in Garcia’s.

I have to say I really wanted to like this place. Cute atmosphere, thought I was going to get some authentic Mexican food. Nope! Started off with pace Picante sauce salsa. Next was the food. Pretty sure I had a velveta slice melted on top of my burrito. Nope, won’t be coming here again to get a microwaved burrito with a cheese slice on top. This place definitely has the potential though.

Service was great and atmosphere are cool. Food was barley mediocre. we were from out of town so it was kind of disappointing. Our waitress was really nice. Oh and the price was a little higher than I expected.

We came here for the first time. I took 30 min for our food to be ready, i ordered a limonade and lemons were old, besides that everything is ok. Servers were nice and enviroment familiar

–Great Atmosphere –White Queso Dip was delicious and full of flavor –Chicken Burrito was spot on –Steak fajitas were steaming hot with excellent toppings –Beers were cheap The type of place you want to go if you are interested in American Mexican. If you are looking for a trendy Mexican joint with unique ingredients and small portions, look elsewhere.

Good service, consistently good quality food, especially Steak and Shrimp Grill platter. Clean and nice atmosphere. Oversized drinks! And great take-out service! Highly recommend!

Wow — what a nice refreshing experience — from the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and… and…thanked by the owner for coming In. Wow — grace! It’s such a small thing but so nice to be thanked — truly makes you feel welcomed and appreciated. Ironically, I had a review of another establishment last night where I was poking fun at them for closing early. Obviously, due the important bronco game — of course most places were going to be closed or close up early… after all it was the Ponies playing for another Super Bowl birth! Anyway — good to see places like this, that not only serve up delicious food go out of their way to give great service for a great experience. Aldo — you might want to go have lunch here and pick up a few tips… just saying :) —

Great service and great margaritas. Our waitress came by probably every 8 minutes with extra water napkins asking if we were good. We went during the hectic noon time so this was very impressive. They have good margaritas and even better lunch menu. Great, healthy portions too. Clean inviting atmosphere. My favorite was the tortilla soup which I’m guessing is a house favorite. In my opinion they are doing everything right!

Received a buy a meal at regular price and the second meal at $ 1.99 coupon. Very glad I had this coupon because the beef quesadilla was not that good. They did not chop the onion all the way and ended up finding few big piece of onions and it wasn’t pleasant experience. Not right away but will be coming back… Just not soon though!

Exquisite. My go to Mexican destination. It is definitely better than most others. Delicious food and excellent atmosphere. Worth going out of the way for. For the quality of the food, the prices are very reasonable.

Food was mediocre. Rice was tough — undercooked. Beef fajitas were tough. Chicken fajitas were ok. Had to have iced tea replaced because it didn’t taste right. Service was decent but could have been a little more attentive. Friend didn’t eat much of his: said it wasn’t very good. Overall, probably can find better Mexican around.

OMG! This place is delicious. I’m eating my leftovers from last night, as I write this. If you’re looking for really tasty Mexican food, look no further. The flavor in everything is absolutely incredible. The shredded beef and chicken are extremely juicy. And everything else on the menu is dank, dank, dank. At first I wondered why this place doesn’t get 5 stars every time. But then I recall the servers who have waited on my tables. The manager(well, I think she’s the manager), Vivi, is extremely hospitable and delivers impeccable service every time, always greeting us, getting us more chips, and saying goodbye when we leave. If every server mirrored her enthusiasm, this place would be even better. Unfortunately each server I’ve had seems not to care as much. Vivi usually ends up serving our table more than our actual server. But I don’t mind at all because we love her and hardly end up noticing how lazy our server was.

Traveling solo for work and the people at the Hampton Inn recommended the place and gave me a $ 5 off coupon. Food was good. Portions were giant. I got the poco poco salad and coup combo. Tortilla soup(broth, chicken, tomato, cheese, and fried tortilla strips) was a little bland for my CA taste buds. Salad was giant. Glad they put dressing on the side without me asking as it was not to my liking(bland pink something) some of the red cabbage and carrot pieces were too big.

When friends suggested we come here for lunch, I forgot that we used to come here when I was much younger. I pulled up outside and it took me back. We had a big comfy booth which was great and the chips and salsa were plentiful and delicious. The salsa tasted a bit like Pace but the chips were literally half a corn tortilla each, hot and fresh. For the main, I ordered chili rellenos. They were not the best that I have ever had but hit the spot. They could have used more green chili sauce on the top. The sopapillas we ended with were easily the worst I have ever had. They were strangely doughy and far too thick to be enjoyable. I actually didn’t even eat half of mine. Our server was really lovely though and very prompt with everything. I would totally come back but don’t expect authentic Mexican food.

First time visit for a drink and a lite dinner. The Top Shelf Perfection Margarita was well made and good value. I skipped the house margaritas on special… which most people were drinking. Chicken Tortilla Soup was tasty with rich ingredients including Avocado chunks. One of the better ones as other reviewers have also noted. The Poco Chimichangas Appetizer was just a calorie-laden disappointment. Table needed to be re-cleaned and service over the course of an hour was inattentive on a Friday nite. No excuse, but I was single and sometimes servers don’t pay any attention. Online menu, which I checked out ahead of time, is incomplete.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for years, for a few reasons. 1. The chicken tortilla soup is killer 2. The pollo fundido is amazing 3. The sopapillas are outstanding. I’ve tried a lot of things on the menu and am truly not impressed by the food, it’s a lot of chain like food. But the things I’ve listed above are all really good. The chicken tortilla soup is some of the best in my opinion, the chicken is tender and succulent. The pollo fundido is fantastic because it’s sort of like a chimichanga but it is topped with cream cheese and melted cheese on top of that! The sopapillas are good because of the cream cheese spread they come with, without this it would just be a plain sopapillas. Overall it’s nothing out of this world but definitely something to come check out if you’re in the area.

Garcia”s was a disappointment. I ordered the Seafood Fundido, which was listed as a House Specialty. It tasted like a warmed-up frozen burrito with a slice of processed cheese melted on top. The service was good. The waitress brought me extra salsa when she noticed I had run out.
