The couple who own this place seem really down to earth. Really chill cool people. The food was delicious but slightly pricey. Still looking forward to coming back. They have a large variety of food and ours was delicious. There are a couple of items I definitely have to try still. I enjoyed the Puerto Rican sandwich and my girl had Noni’s Meatball Sub.

I simply don’t get it. When it was new in 2011, I ate at Frank’s and predicted that it’s rating would go down to 3 stars after more reviews were posted. With almost 50 reviews now published, and more than a year after my review, Frank’s still maintains its 4.5 star rating. Having noticed that, I recently decided to take a friend to lunch there, thinking maybe that I was just wrong the first time, and that I should trust the opinion of my half-a-hundred Unilocal colleagues. So what was the result? The result was. .. that the owners at Frank’s are sweet as can be, and while their food’s OK, it’s still only 3 stars, and my Unilocal colleagues are suffering from a deep mass psychosis. I mean they are seriously deranged. Wacko. Non compos mentis. Cuckoo. Nutolla. So I end my review wishing the best, not only to Frank’s, but to my totally crazy fellow Unilocal reviewers. Sign me, delusionally, David«Sigmund» M.

Get the Puerto Rican sandwich, the butterscotch shake and try to ignore the smooth jazz. The space is pretty small so if you don’t like people listening in to your conversation because they’re trying to focus on something other than smooth jazz, get it to go.

I love love love love Frank’s Kitchen. It’s a block from my house, and everything’s always ready for pick-up within 15 minutes. I’ve tried a number of things: brisket sliders(a bit greasy, but super yum), philly reuben(salty, yummy goodness), the Crested Butte(holy all things yummy on one sandwich), the chili dog(satisfies my southern roots), and the sweet potato fries(always, always get these). I need to try the milkshakes next. And anytime they post a picture of pecan pie on Facebook, I run up there as soon as I can. They specialize in salty, greasy sandwiches. If healthy’s your thing, this place probably isn’t where you wanna go very often, but I love it.

Confession. I am a loyal Weight Watchers member and I Unilocal. These two identities often present a conflict of interest, such as when one visits Frank’s Kitchen. Another reviewer who mentioned that the sweet potato fries were the BESTEVER was absolutely right. The sliders were tender, juicy and flavored with BBQ sauce in a way that I am sure Goldilocks would declare«just right». And don’t even get me started on the white chocolate malt. I’ve already used my «points» for the week! Don’t be deterred by the rough façade. Forge on my foodie friends, and be delighted by what greets you inside(the service is as good as the food)!

We just moved to the neighborhood and Frank’s is awesome! After reading other reviews I couldn’t wait to try it out. I got the Peurto Rican sandwich and my husband had The Pueblo burger, we both went with sweet potato fries. Everything was delicious! Sweet Potato fries were perfect and all of the sandwich toppings were fresh and delightful. I can’t wait to go back for the $ 1 tacos on Wednesdays and I’m eying the Crested Butte sandwich and The Jerome Burger. Its definitely going to be our go to place to walk for a good, unpretentious yet satisfying meal. Don’e judge it from the outside!

Frank’s Kitchen is a walk away from my home and on Wednesdays my roommates, friends and I walk to Frank’s for their Taco Wednesday Deal. Do not get the soft tacos since they use corn tortillas and don’t really warm the tortilla. If you do, you’ll be eating cold tortilla and that’s just not appetizing. Get the hard shell tacos. I have also had the Bahn Me sandwich and it was okay. I wouldn’t buy it again. I do however, love their milkshakes. I got the butterscotch milkshake and it was glorious. It’s a good, local, and inexpensive little hole in the wall for the locals.

I was looking for a place close to the Denver Zoo to take my daughter out to get a bite to eat, but a lot of the ‘options’ near there did not sound appealing. Thankfully I had the Unilocal app that brought me here with the good reviews this place received. To give back to the good food that this place has, here’s a good review. I hope it’s not long before I return and I hope others venture out to eat here to give it a try. It’s a small location so don’t expect there to be room for large parties, but don’t let that deter you to get a to-go order. ;o)

I love me some Frank’s Kitchen! The milkshakes here are outstanding. I have to recommend the white chocolate shake. I crave this shake on the regular. It is the quintessential milkshake. Perfect consistency, creamy, flavorful, topped with wonderful whipped cream and a cherry. Yum. We have only had the food once. We ordered the jerk chicken and brisket. Both were delicious. I’m really picky about my jerk chicken and wouldn’t say it’s true Jamaican authentic(lacks the spice), but it was tasty nonetheless. The coconut rice that accompanied the jerk chicken was excellent. I also thought that the brisket was tender and flavorful. We enjoyed the fiesta corn as a side. I am looking forward to trying some of their sandwiches and other items soon. I will be sure to update when I try more. In the meantime, I definitely recommend Frank’s Kitchen if you want tasty food and scrumptious milkshakes.

Great, great malts. Sandwiches are fantastic. Especially the ban mi. Dining room not so great. Definitely a take out place, but worth the trip.

So good! I got the Cali Dog and sweet potato fries. I love how it’s a neighborhood joint. It’s quiet and low-key. The employees were super friendly the food is quality while the price is reasonable. I hope this place is around for a long time. PS There is a patio that is great for nice days.

Great stuff. It’s a hole in the wall with a great, friendly staff. There are no waiters, you go up to the counter and order what you want. Be prepared for close quarters. They have a swamp cooler(for A/C) and a patio. They do $ 1.00 tacos on Wednesday, soft or hard. The milkshakes and malts are yummy. The sweet potato fries are the best I’ve tasted outside of NY. They’re not soggy or greasy. They’ve got a crispy outer later with Cajun seasoning. Hubby and I made it out of there 4 tacos a piece, an order of s.p. fries and a fountain drink for $ 11 total. How we’ve passed this gem everyday and not stopped is a mystery. It’s worth going, if only to try. I think you might like It. Don’t expect the Palace Arms though or you’ll be disappointed.

I can’t say I’m as enamored with this place as many reviewers but I do like it a lot and am very grateful to have them in our neighborhood. So far I’ve had the jerk burger and chili dog. The Jerk berger was OK but unspectacular, and I would have preferred it to be quite a bit jerkier(spicier). The chili dog was sublime, among the best I’ve had – Perfect bun, Vienna beef dog, and a spot-on Detroit-style Coney sauce. I see another in my immediate future. I also want to try the briscuit sammy(which a guy who had stumbled upon Franks after learning that M&D’s had closed down was positively raving about) and the Puerto Rican, which sounds very interesting. Who knows, may be bumping this bad boy up a star here soon, but for now I would definitely say«A-OK». Oh, and for the guy that criticized the place for not having biodegradable plates, hop in your Prius and drive up Highway 36 to the People’s Republic, I’m sure you’ll find a place to your liking there.

After starving from a cancelled/switched flight, to struggling through traffic through Denver, it was damn time to eat. And instead of venturing into the busy heart of downtown, I decided to give a local area a try. Frank’s Kitchen popped up on my search and even with 23 reviews, it seemed like a good place to stop for a bite and recharge. Plus, we’d get to drive around the neighborhood and see what Denver has to offer. Aside from the diners and drive look and barred up windows, it appeared ok around the corner and surrounded by untouched snow. And just across the street was a very interesting purple house which gave me a little appreciation for the area. It’s not a big joint, with perhaps seating for 12, people, but I love the feel and look of the place. It served some interesting combinations of sandwiches and entrees but was accommodating to serve hamburgers and shakes. Naturally, my eye was bigger than my stomach and immediately I went to town on the menu: A Crested Butte with eggs over pastrami on a rye with a bucket of fries and a hazelnut milkshake. Light snack for the road? I think not. And of course the hazelnut milkshake was a winner, and it went well with the fries. My sandwich though… goodness. I should have expected the mess I created from eating it and letting the runny egg run all over the place soaking the rye bread perfectly while dripping off a dangle of stringed melted cheese. I enjoyed it very much. Glad we made the stop.

My boyfriend and I stopped by for lunch today — I had been wanting to try it after reading all the wonderful things about it … and guess what? It is wonderful! I had Fish Fry Friday — a fluffy and beautiful filet of Tilapia lightly fried and SOGOOD! Came with fries and cole slaw(which I normally don’t like, but was really good). I also ordered an espresso milk shake and it was incredible. My boyfriend was originally sad I ordered espresso because he doesn’t like coffee(kind of the point), but then he proceeded to drink most of it and said he would crave it the rest of the day! He loved his food equally — had the beef brisket and sweet potato fries(got him back for the shake and ate most of his fries — they were the best I’ve ever had!). Anyway, fun vibe, great food — we’ll be back … a lot!

Wow, hidden jem alert! Just stopped by for lunch today. This unasuming little take out place makes real food, real fast. I sound like a shill, but boy was I pleasantly surprised by Franks. My wife had an authentic, fresh and delicious Bahn Mi sandwich(I tried it) and I had the Crested Butte: Pastrami, hash browns and two perfectly prepared eggs plus lettuce, tomato and onion on Rye. Where else can you get something like that in a jiffy? lunches served with a light, tender cabbage slaw and a few sweet homemade pickles. Looking forward to achieving regular customer status at Frank’s!

If you like jerk chicken you should get yourself over to Frank’s Kitchen sooner rather than later. If you’ve never had jerk chicken but enjoy spicy, grilled chicken then you should also get over to Frank’s. The plate of jerk chicken is served with coconut rice(delicious), salad(standard side salad), and fried plantains. The plantains weren’t quite what I was expecting — they were more like chips and not the softer version I’m used to from back home, but they were still good. The folks working here were about as friendly as can be and the menu has a surprisingly large selection for such a small spot. They also have Mexican coke for drinking which I enjoy. It is a wee bit small on the inside. There is only one table for four and a few other tables for two so it might be a better choice to go alone or in a couple or just take your deliciousness to go.

I had avoided this place for a while, the scary looking chinese restaurant that was there before had put a negative memory of the location. I saw some good reviews and decided to try it today, I only live 3 blocks away. The Outside The building doesn’t look very nice, and the new restaurant signs don’t improve upon it much. Plenty of parking. The inside It is small, with about 4 tables inside and a couple outside. You order from a counter and retrieve your food when it’s ready from the same location. The People The staff there were *very* nice, made me feel right at home and didn’t rush me as I perused the menu before ordering. The Food There were two of us and we both ordered hot sandwiches. My friend got the Hojo grilled chicken and described it as healthy tasting and delicious. I got the Puerto Rican and opted in for the side of plantains. Both were wonderful. I also liked the portion sizes, enough to feel full but no more. I also enjoyed the coleslaw that was served with the sandwich, and I never like coleslaw. I don’t even know why I decided to try it, but I am glad I did. Next Time I will get dessert, the shakes and malts look amazing, and I will pair it with a hamburger. Summary I am happy to see a good restaurant open up in our neighborhood. We are sorely lacking in this department, so be sure to check them out and keep them here!

My boyfriend and I were riding to a friend’s house on Saturday night when we passed Frank’s Kitchen. We of course had a few jokes about what might be cooking as the location leaves room for imagination. Well the answer… great food. We looked over the menu and after my boyfriend ordered the beef brisket sandwich, I asked Dina(she introduced herself by name and asked us if we lived near by) what she suggested. The Jerked Chicken she recommended made me happier than I can remember being from a restaurant in ages. Wow. The only disappointment was that I couldn’t just go back into the kitchen and dish up a second helping. The coconut rice, plantains and side salad only added to the delicious drumstick and thigh served(yay for dark meat!). Spicy, as it should be… I was only able to get one bite of the beef brisket sandwich as I was focused on my plate. But the one bite I had was delicious. Great bread, tender meat and a perfect amount of bbq sauce on it. We opted for sharing a shake for dessert and it too was nothing short of great. Smooth, creamy and a perfect portion to share. One of the things I’ve wished for from my old days in Chicago is a good neighborhood pickup. The type of place you go to because you know it will always be good. I consider that need filled. Frank sat down and talked with us awhile and his story alone makes you happy to be handing him your dollars. Food aside, the place is simple and just what I want from my neighborhood pick up.(They deliver too).

Every neighborhood should have a «Frank’s Kitchen». The new place is warm, cozy, retro to the times past when there were no chain restaurants around. Great varied menu. Try the«Crested Butte» sandwich– it’s wonderfully delicious. Additionally, they have a real espresso coffee menu; which Frank uses some unknown, BUT delicious New jersey hand roasted beans.(Far better than the bitter Starbucks type). Frank told Wally that he will soon be serving genuine«Turkey Croquettes». A wonderful tiny bistro that deserves a visit!
