I hope people don’t think this is what falafel is supposed to taste like.

I find this to be a healthy place to go to and they have great flavors. I saw a picture of the 4×6 falafel plate and thought it looked great, however after ordering it I was put off by the fact that there wasn’t much salad on the plate. It was almost more of a garnish. I like healthy food, so please don’t skimp on the salad. I’ll go back, but will definitely ask for extra salad/lettuce. For a better option I would say save your money and go to Garabanzo. You definitely get more for your money and they don’t skimp on the salad or sides. The falafels are also much bigger at Garbanzo.

The food is good, but everything is a dollar too expensive, so I rarely choose to eat here even though I am in this food court at least once a week for lunch. The gyro is particularly good. The staff is never too friendly though, the pita that comes with the plate is not hot, and the cups of water they give you is oh so small.

Solid little lunch place in the Republic Plaza food court. I had a the shwarma gyro. They made it up fresh as I waited and I found the taste to be pretty good. All the veggies were fresh and all the spices hit the right notes. It is about $ 6.50 for the gyro, which seems about the going rate in downtown for a quick lunch. I am not a huge fan of this food court(busy, hot and crowded), but if in the mood for a falafel or a a gyro it’s a good spot!

Falafel King located in food court on 16 th street mall. I had been here for lunch couple of times as it closer to my office. Coming to the food I tried the Falafel plate which comes with salad and pita bread. The falafel is cooked properly and they are crispy. But I am totally disappointed with the size of the falafel. No need to review about the hummus and salad as they are tasty and its goes with the pita bread. The pita bread would be better if it still more hot. I have no issues with the staff and they are attentive. Don’t expect refills on your soda!

Very consistant food and the staff do a great job of dealing with long lines. I made the mistake of booking an living social deal at the wrong FK. This joint made my order and honored my booking regardless! I’ll be back– thank you!

What I had? Gyro Pita and falafel Food review: I don’t have a whole lot to say or describe about the meal here. The gyro was kind of your standard pita that I’ve had over the years which is not to say that’s a bad thing. It was definitely tasty but nothing special. The falafel was pretty enjoyable as well but once again… nothing special. Good meal overall. Service? No complaints Other thoughts: The lemonade with mint sounded interesting but ended up being meh.

I was craving falafel and didn’t have time to wait at the Shondiz cart right in the middle of the lunch rush, so I took advantage of a Living Social takeout promo code and ordered a falafel and hummus plate from Falafel King. By the time I had walked a block and a half to the Republic Plaza building and found my way downstairs, my order was already bagged up and waiting for me. Living Social told me it would be ready in 5 minutes and it was. Pretty snazzy! The salad was spring mix and much fresher than I expected. Came topped with finely diced tomato and cucumber, thinly sliced red and white onions, shredded carrots, Italian parsley, a delicious dressing and a ton of yummy hot sauce. The six falafel were tasty too, somewhat small but not mushy in the slightest. My pita and super creamy hummus were good too, even though I specified wheat pita online and got white. For just $ 7.50, I was stuffed after eating everything. I’ve done much worse at that price for lunch.

I generally get the Greek slad with falafel balls when I come here, so I can not really speak to any of the other items on the menu; however, this salad is yummy and quick. Working in an office building with a food court there are not a whole lot of places for lunch(well that are suitable at least, no thank you on the chick-fil-a). This salad is always a great lunch staple, but today I was über impressed by the unsolicited kindness of the staff. I ordered my salad only to realize(like a jackass), that I had forgotton my wallet in another purse! Oh the perils of being a femme. I can not recall the exact amount, but I believe said salad usually totals out at somewhere north of $ 9. By the way this is the salad, the falafel and warm pita, wheat or white, not too shabby for downtown. I looked in my purse and thank goodness I had some cash with me, but only $ 8! In a panic I am thinking, so how does this work, will I have to return my salad?! I explained my dilema to the gentleman behind the cash register who I believe was either the manager or franchise owner and he did not even bat an eye. When I mean did not bat an eye I mean did not even think about for a second. He just totaled it up to be what I had on me. Now I am not saying that I will give good reviews solely based on being ‘hooked up,’ but there is something to be said about providing above and beyond customer service and recognizing that a patron(moi) will continue to frequent your establishment based on this experience. So long story short, the establishment sacrificed approximately $ 1 to gain 1 loyal customer! Oh and did I mention the salad is way good?!

I like Greek food but Falafel King could do better. They are located in the food court underneath the world trade center down town. The place seems a bit dirty and the staff is not all that friendly or helpful. Their food is not bad for what it is, fast food Greek, but please do not expect to get anything better than that. I wish there was a nicer Greek place downtown but since there is not, this place remains on my lunch rotation.

I guess I’m a sucker for Falafel King. I really enjoy Mediterranean food. And even if it’s the crappy fast food version, just having it among my lunch options makes me happy. I recommend the Greek plate with onions and hot sauce.

Had falafel with hummus and pita bread. Hummus and falafel were good. Would have liked the Pita bread if it was hot.

I went here again yesterday, and not only was my falafel pita pocket fresh and delicious, but the staff was friendly. Not just friendly, actually, exceptionally friendly! Everyone was smiling and saying hello, asking how my day was going. It was kind of strange, but nice. This was around one o’clock, so the mad lunch rush was over, but there was still a consistent line of about 5 people. Still bummed about no refills on soda.

It was ok. It was tasty for food court food. I’m not a big fan of falafel — mainly it’s a vessel to get the yummy sauce into your mouth! It was neat that they had little falafel nuggets. But not something I really wanted to eat! The gyro meat was tasty, the salad was yummy and the hot sauce they pour all over everything — super yummy! I would like to taste the hummus, baba gannoush, and tabbouli. It in a good place on 16th st(2 locations in fact).

This place looks grodey as all hell. Greek-food you know is a delicate business: falafel is a fickle mistress, which requires love and care to make it turn out right. So take this fact and then put it in a mall food-court, which its brute weapons of deep-fry, and under-paid and over-worked cranky-ass staff, and you can imagine what you get. Here’s the thing though that gets this place 3 stars: every person in the food court was eating at this place, even though there were at least 6 other food-dealys to choose from. That’s saying something at least.

This Falafel King is located in a food court for the corporate suits. Rude staff behind the counter beckon for your timely decision. Once you receive your falafel and humus, you’ll discover it’s mushy and watery. Yes oh yes yumm… Toss it and find something else.
