Now, now, now… Several Pies I like… especially from Denver Pie Truck. Managed to get the 4 pies from Denver Pie Truck as desserts at Civic Center Eats September 13th2012. The lady from the Denver Pie Truck is indeed friendly and inviting. Individual pies that looks like Empanadas, or «Calzone» but the sweet kind. 4 pies for $ 11. Each flavor is being written outside the packaging. The flavors that we opt for were Apple, Blueberry, Mixed and Peach. All the crust on the Pie are sugar coated. Not too sweet for my taste bud. The crust is «crunchy» due to the sugar based dough. Each pie is big enough for 2 people as what I did, sharing those Pies with Hubs. I wish, there could be more filling inside the pie. Until now, I still cant decide which Pie was the best. But all in all, I like the purchase I had that afternoon. Hence this is more like a 3.5 stars review. @134/2012

When it comes down to the eternal struggle of pie vs. cake, I must admit I lean more towards the pie persuasion. Cupcakes, being that they are portable and on the go have taken over, but now us pie lovers have a handheld sweet treat that we can take on the go! I tried the Pie Truck today at Civic Center Eats(which also has cupcakes since they are associated with the cupcake truck & Cake Crumbs). I wasn’t exactly sure what I was going to get, but was pleasantly surprised with a nice big hand held pie with a sugared crust. It comes in a paper sleeve and is easy to eat on the go! I tried the Cherry and it was wonderfully tart with just a bit of sweet. They had everything from blueberry, to apple, to peach. It is such a fun change! I am happy it is in the food truck universe — it is a yummy addition.
