I absolutely love this place. The venue is intimate and the staff is fantastic. I want to give a shout out to Andrea who took VERY good care of us during our show. I’m already making plans for another group night out at Comedy Works!!!

We had a fab time laughing with 9 comedians, each funnier than the next. The MC was Dr(Vet) Kevin Fitzgerald. Loved his Point-seta black shirt(so festive). It was a cold night outside but they packed in quite a crowd making it warm and comfy. We were lucky to find two seats up front. Ordered a hot cider that had an option of whipped cream, yum first time. Warm Pretzels just okay. Parking just $ 6 close by.

This is a great comedy club. I’ve been here and the Landmark location several times and I’ve never had a bad experience. Recently my wife and I went to see Tom Segura and were thrilled! The host was hilarious and the openers were great too, and as usual, Tom Segura killed it. What really made this a 5 star rating for us was that we were given seats against a wall behind some tall guys and I asked the manager(?) Kazie if we could take two open seats in the second row right in front of the stage. I assumed they were saved but they weren’t and she let us move without charging us and let us move our food and beverage order as well. The seats made the night awesome. The food is palatable and the drinks are reasonably priced. Most comedians I listen to(podcasts etc) say that Comedy Works is one of the best clubs in America. Validated parking, decent food and beer selection and great comedians is a hell of a combo. Seat comfort could be better but I’m not dropping a star for that. I’ll be back soon! P. S.- Shout out to Wende, you may not remember me but when Dave Chappelle did a secret show at the Landmark a year ago you hooked my friends and I up with killer balcony seats when there were almost no spots left. Thanks!

Imagine the most uncomfortable airline seat. Cramped, hard and with a fat ass next to you. Multiply that by 10 and that’s what you get at Comedy Werks. Also over priced drinks and forgotten food orders. Not to mention really bad warm up acts. I would not recommend unless you are willing to put up with an uncomfortable evening. On a positive note our waitress was nice.

This place is a poorly-run nightmare. To begin, every ticket is, inexplicably, will-call. Doors open an hour before the show. So when you arrive, you’ll need to wait in line for an extended period of time just to have them hand you your tickets(which are the kind of cheap tickets on a roll you’ve gotten at any elementary-school raffle). Then you’ll get in another line to go downstairs and file along the wall waiting to be seated. At the front of the line is a group of harried young men, one of whom has a seating chart and will ask the number in your party and assign your seats. You’ll be shown to them by one of the other harried young men. We arrived an hour before showtime, and it took 40 minutes from the time we got in line to the time we got down to our seats. The seats themselves are cramped and uncomfortable. They’re chairs you’d find at a banquet hall, bolted to the floor with a narrow metal armrest between every two where you are supposed to put your drinks. There’s a two-item per person minimum purchase, and they do offer food, but if you get food, you’ll be eating it out of a little basket in your lap, your elbows crunched into your side to avoid poking the people on either side of you.(The good news — that minimum isn’t actually enforced.) And every time the servers come through, you have to shift and get your feet out of the way. This is extra-fun if you are on the end of a row, and extra-extra-fun if you have long legs. The experience reminded me a lot of flying on a low-cost airline. Oh, special seating bonus for some of you — the club is in a basement, so a number of you are going to have an obstructed view because you’re seated behind pillars. Even though you’ve paid full price for your ticket! And you won’t know until you show up that night! And if you ask to be moved, the staff will claim the show is sold out! Even if you can see literally a dozen empty seats that stay empty throughout the show! Isn’t that great? I turned to the other people we were with a number of times during this experience and asked, «Is this the first time they’ve ever done this?» It feels completely chaotic and amateur. There are a number of shows we’d love to see, but we won’t be coming back. It is 2015, Comedy Works. Get a real ticketing system. Get a real venue. Get a clue.

Date of Visit: 8÷8÷15 Nothing but good things to say here, especially compared to most comedy joints I’ve been to. It’s the perfect size; even the back row is close enough to the stage to feel like part of the show. Drink list is extensive, prices are reasonable, pours are strong, and the food is known to be edible. What more could you want?

Went on a Sunday night for their showcase show. The nachos were good: covered in nacho cheese with two small sides of salsa and diced jalapeños. There aren’t tables like most comedy clubs, so it was difficult to eat. I’d recommend giving a little more space so t doesn’t deel like you’re on an airplane

So I was stoked to go here until the jokes were mediocre… at best… and the only laugh of the night got me and my friends kicked out. The wait staff were awesome and felt embarrassed because of the poor management. I was shocked by how poorly this situation was handled and can’t believe our night ended this way. So unbelievably unfortunate, I’ll never go back again.

I have been to comedy works a few times now and it’s always a treat. This year they gave me a free ticket and drink on my birthday which was actually awesome. Used it last night and had a great time. Make sure to get there early for good seats and be prepared for the two item minimum.

Hands down the best comedy venue in Denver and one of the better across the country. They consistently book great regional talent and still have open mic nights unlike some other clubs that don’t encourage or develop local talent. I prefer the basement low ceiling vibe compared to the tech center location. Just feels right being cramped and dark, kinda like the comfort of your favorite dive bar. Make sure to park at writers square garage with discount validation. Best parking option downtown

We went to the Doug Benson show, my second time to ComedyWorks. We received our drinks promptly from a really friendly bartender and were seated quickly. Doug opened up making fun of the people in the front row who left before the show began. Shortly after I asked Kazie if I could get those seats, and she happily let us have them. I got to stare at Doug Benson’s right ear from 5 feet away, then meet him afterwards!!! My date was ecstatic and insisted we go again. The wait staff, bartenders, and management were great, we will definitely go back soon!

Had a great time and the comedians kept everybody laughing the whole time! We went on the Tuesday where there were some great newcomers as well as veterans. I would highly recommend this place, as it is also located in the fun part of town. There are also lots of places nearby to eat and drink.

Comedy Works — A Denver Institution! Comedy Works is hands down the première comedy club in the Denver Area. I have attended many shows at both the Downtown location and the South Club, and all have exceeded our expectations. You will find large acts(Titus, Caporulo, Hall, Blue) to the local comedians that will keep you laughing and will quickly become your new local favorites. A few tips 1) sign up for the email marketing, you will get advance notice of upcoming tickets 2) you get free tickets on your Birthday and 3) be sure to get there a little early to get the best seats in the house. The drinks and the food always please, so no worries on the two item minimum. The staff, owner, and managers are all top notch and happy to please. Just don’t act like an a%*h*le as an audience member and try and upstage the comedian, your name isn’t out front. Sit back, relax, and be prepared to laugh!

We were seated off to the side on stage right for Brad Williams where my right shoulder met a huge column. I like having no one sitting next to me but a huge column and an awkward view of the stage? Not my favorite. Service and food were excellent. I almost feel like we were profiled in some way or another. The hostess and the waitress communicated with their eyes and mumbled a couple words to each other. When we got to the seating area, there were plenty of seats everywhere else but we were pushed all the way to the side. Go figure. This is in a nice spot around the corner from Larimer Square and there is plenty to do before and after so there is that. Otherwise, after that first experience, not sure we’ll be back.

I have been to comedy works many of times over the years. If you want to get a good seat you need to arrive when the doors open. It is a very tightly packed venue during sold out shows. It is what it is. If you are looking to see a comedy show and have a little more space to yourself, I recommend seeing a show at the other location down south. The 2 item minimum is standard at most comedy shows. Get over it! I read in a lot of other reviews that the wait staff was rude. I have never had a problem with any of the waiters or waitresses that work here. That leads me to believe the people who are getting rude service probably deserve it. Comedy works brings in the best talent across the nation. From Ben Roy to Dave Chapelle and everyone in between, I have never seen a show I didn’t like.

Love love LOVE! This place is a delight every time. I hear people complain about the tight spaces a lot, but that’s what makes it an intimate Denver experience. Always great comedy, and they are always giving the stage to local and up-and-coming artists, which I greatly support. Food is alright, but I usually just order drinks anyways. Cheers to laughter!

Park at Larimer Square underground lot weekends $ 10. This location has a small bar and not a lot of room compared to the Landmark location. If it’s the same comedian, go to the DTC Landmark for free parking and newer bigger space than the Downtown location. 2 item minimum so just order appetizers if you don’t want to drink.

Here’s my deal with Comedy Works. Whenever I show up I usually immediately dislike the place. There are sometimes lines to get in, and I hate lines. Next you are taken to the basement where the theater is located, and the seating is so tight and close together that you feel you can hardly move. I sit there feeling like a sardine, wondering why I ever came. Drinks are precariously placed in cupholders between me and my date, which has me anxious that with one wrong move I could soak a good number of people in a shower of rum and coke. It’s awkward and uncomfortable and I always sit and wonder why I would ever decided to come back. And then the show starts… and something magical happens. Because as annoyed as I was while the lights were on, once they dim the lights and the emcee takes the stage, none of that matters; I become engrossed in the show and the evening just flies by. Featuring comedy acts both big and small, Comedy Works always has top-notch talent and they’re always incredibly funny. Like, your stomach is going to hurt when you leave because you’ve been laughing all night, funny. During the show the waitstaff manages to keep your drinks filled without being too distracting, and the audience around me makes the place feel cozy instead of cramped. Once the show is over and the lights are back on, all is right with the world and I’m ready to do it all over again.

The comics were funny. The seating is, as mentioned by countless reviewers, close!!! They make up for the bad seating with their great drinks! The staff was friendly and seemed to take care of everyone well. As a comedy club, its a bit high brow for me, but it was a fun night out. They validate parking and have a pretty fun gift card give away drawing!

I very much enjoy going to comedy shows, so it’s unfortunate that I dislike this venue! They pack you in like sardines; if you’re sitting next to someone large, he or she will be half in your lap, and there’s no leg room in front, so each time a waitstaff or customer passes in front of you, you’re continually having to move your legs out of the way. The two item minimum is also a pain in the butt because it makes it necessary for the waitstaff to constantly interrupt to make sure you’ve ordered the obligatory two items. It’s overly disruptive. The food is bar grub with very few healthy choices. It isn’t very appealing and is extremely difficult to balance it on your lap and eat without spilling all over yourself. And the drinks, though delicious sounding with cool names, contain very little booze and aren’t worth the price. It’s disappointing that a comedy club in Denver doesn’t have a better selection of microbrews. If they are going to have a mandatory two item minimum, they should consider improving the quality of the choices; that way, people aren’t just ordering bottled water. Really, I think they should do away with the two item minimum and just charge more for the tickets. It would also be helpful if they utilized some kind of small flagging system on the seats, which the customers could use to indicate they need another drink or food item; that way, there wouldn’t be so much disruption from the waitstaff during the show.
