Not sure what happened here. Ownership change maybe? I used to go here 2 – 3 times a week and it had a friendly staff making great salads very quickly. Then they closed for awhile. Went in yesterday and it was a terrible experience. Slow, unfriendly, and not good. Bummer.

Used to love this place, but since it’s reopened under new ownership it’s gone severely downhill. Prices are more $, you can barely read the ingredients for the make your own option(put it back on the marquee– That was a signature product) and most disappointingly is the staff. «Chopping» used to be an engaging and interactive experience with artistry and flair. Now they barely make eye contact with you and act like they don’t gaf.

Not great. Food was kinda soggy and the service was horrible. All of the employees seemed disinterested and didn’t bother to smile or seem particularly polite. I won’t be bothering to come back.

Good salads. Slow service. 4 customers ahead of me and took 25 minutes to complete order. Avoid at busy hours.

Really really slow service for a fast in and out place. if I wanted to take an hour for lunch I would’ve sat down somewhere next door, also the first thing I asked for that was on the menu they didn’t even have. Now I’m watching one of the salad makers trying to pick out some small ingredient out of a salad she made she’s been at it for 5 min, and another has no gloves on, if I wasn’t so hungry and had a meeting next door within 30 min I would’ve left by now.

Someone save us and shut this place down again. It took over 20 minutes after ordering for me to get a salad today. They used to shuffle you through the line and you were in and out within a few minutes. Now, you order and they tell you to take a seat because that’s how long it takes these people to make a salad. This was with absolutely no line — there were just 10 of us at any given time waiting. Being downtown, there are so many other options you might as well walk a few more blocks and it’ll still take less time.

Should have checked Unilocal first. Tried today for lunch. Ordered the club sandwich. Waited and watched people order and employees with gloves make salads. Was wondering why my sandwich was taking so long and observed a guy in the back, no gloves on, preparing my sandwich. I ask, why the guy in the back making my sandwich is NOT wearing gloves? She goes to the back comes back and says nothing. Meanwhile I see NOGLOVES guy the opening the freezer, rifle through boxes of «fresh» prepackaged foodstuffs, preparing … why? Just why?

Went there for lunch today with a friend. Got in line at 12:15 and didn’t reach the cash register until 12:48(33 minutes later). Took so long I didn’t have time to eat lunch there, and had to take the salad back to my office. It tasted OK, not great, and was definitely not worth the wait. Disappointing.

My coworkers and I used to come to Choppers a lot for lunch before the new ownership. Since then, I feel like it is not the same. I went in early to beat the lunch-hour rush(around 11:30 am) and I still waited 20+ minutes for my food. There was only 1 patron in front of me and somehow, 3 people behind me got their salad before I did. Also, they missed a few items that I had asked for on the salad. I took my order to-go, got back to the office, made it about ¾ of the way when I saw 2 short strands of hair. Considering they«chop» their salads, it could have been one longer strand at some point. Hey, there could have been more than 2 — who knows how many I ate! Ick… Regardless… there should be a higher standard of cleanliness. I still gave the review 2-stars only because it still tasted good but I’m not sure if I’ll be back now that the business seemed to have change.

Went here with a group from work and was a little bummed. It seems like a great concept and the ingredients seem super fresh but it just didn’t quite get there. I ordered the gunnison with chicken and it was alright. My first disappointment was I requested avocado to be added(which is an upcharge) and they forgot to add it to my salad but definitely charged me for it. I was going to go up and ask for it but the place was packed at that point — definitely my fault that I didn’t go ask for it. The second bummer was the counter service. The guy taking orders was a little rude when I was asking questions(it was my first time there and I didn’t know what was up.) I get that they were busy but that doesn’t excuse being rude. The guy ringing everyone up may have been new(not quite sure) but he didn’t seem to know what he was doing. I’m sure the lunch crowd definitely didn’t help his situation. I would definitely be willing to come back as it’s an easy walk from my office. It’d be worth the second chance as it could have been an off day. However, if I’m going to pay $ 11 for a fast casual salad — I want it to be good :)

Under new ownership and so much better! Now that Choppers has reopened with a new owner, it’s so much better! You can tell the new owner really cares about the business and delivering a quality product(unlike the old owner who was never there when I tried to talk to him/her on several occasions). I loved the balsamic vinegar dressing and baby corn. If you want a top-shelf quality salad, this is the place to go! I will be back.

No shit they have a sign at the register that says«These are NOT water cups». They really want you to drink out of the little 3″ tall cups.

Relatively pricey for salads. They’ve never messed up anything of mine like I’ve seen other reviews state, but I’ve never been overly impressed with them. Great cause its close to where I work but I avoid the lunch rush like the plague.

If anyone had a single point of comparison for this place in the LoDo area, they would not be giving it 5 stars. Salads are fine but nothing to gloat about. All of our issues(me and those in my office) with this place seem to stem from management. I boycotted this place for a while because it takes them so long to get through their line of customers and just give me my lunch. So one day when a coworker insisted on going there, I decided to time it. 32 minutes(that’s not a typo). That’s the time it took from the point where I stood in line, to the point that I paid. 1) The staff here writes down every little nuance of what goes into your salad on a piece of paper. Why? You’re standing right on front of the ingredients! Just make it! They then forget what you told them, then have to read off of the paper, taking up even more time, over and over. Just make the salad and scribble the dressing type on the lid or something. 2) Employee turnover is through the roof. Anytime we go there half of the staff is in training, which eats up even more time. 3) Some of the staff just outright grosses us out. One guy walks around with his underwear exposed all the time(I actually think he is the manager, which explains a lot), another always has little cuts on his face and looks like he hasn’t showered in about 3 weeks. 4) …and they can be very rude. The«good ones» I remember don’t even work there anymore. They always leave for less quality employees. Rarely get thank you’s, and the charges are odd. Depending on who rings me up I am either asked to pay over $ 11 or under, for the same salad. 5) There are two side by side lines at entry — every other time I come here my anxiety gets a boost from someone either being rude or not paying attention to who came first in line because they use two lines that lead to the counter instead of one. Just zig zag the line and done. 6) Cost — you will cross the $ 10 mark here for your lunch. Even a dollar makes a big difference. 7) Every menu-based salad contains something bad in there for you. So if you want to be truly healthy, you need to make substitutions. …so yeah. Needless to say soup and sandwiches are on the menu for lunch going forward.

After being annoyed with my salad mush down at the DTC location, I don’t know why I thought this one would be any different. Maybe it’s because I have coworkers who go here seemingly every day? Maybe I thought I’d make better decisions and choose drier ingredients that wouldn’t become part of the dressing once they were chopped? Nope, still pretty salad mushy. I tried to prevent it, but I just can’t resist avocado’s charms. The chopping turned my delicious avocado(which I enjoy very much in chunks) into guacamole(which I enjoy on chips but not coating a salad). Same with the egg yolk from the hard boiled egg(which is my preferred salad protein). I tried to stay reasonable with the ingredients and a small salad still ended up running me nearly $ 10. The flavor was good, but not the texture. Can the eggs and avocado be pre-chopped and not squished into the rest of the salad, please?

Perfectly fine for a chop’t /sweetgreen –esque lunch. Be careful of the dressings! Sometimes it tastes delicious because of the dressing. I was a little confused by the menu options, and I can’t even explain my confusion. Maybe it’s true of all salad places because there are so many options? Maybe I’ll get used to it. A large salad is REALLY large! I got tired of chewing.

I pop down to Choppers at lunch once a week for a salad. There is always street parking within a block of the place. The lines can get long but move fast. I always get it to go and it rarely ever takes more than 15 minutes(one quarter in the meter!) Salad tossers are friendly. I can’t get enough of the buffalo chicken salad that I get in a wrap. $ 7 bucks for the wrap. Can’t beat the cost or the flavor. They’re part of so after you buy 10 salads, you get one free.
