Chely’s Bakery & Deli

I have eaten their breakfast burritos a few times now, and they are good, nothing terribly special, but definitely good. Every time I have gone in, I’ve been intrigued by the pictures on the wall of the afghani food. Tonight I finally stopped in and picked up their special which was afghan rice and meatballs. At first, I was disappointed that there was only 6 small to medium meatballs and a little bit of sauce swimming in a to go container full of rice with a half pita and a cup of a green sauce, then I took a bite of the rice. There is an extremely unique texture to the rice that is perfectly cooked but at the same time chewy, with a delicate flavor that compliments the meatballs and the cilantro sauce. Speaking of the cilantro sauce, that stuff seriously has to be spiked with pure addiction. It is a little spicy, vinegary, and oh so savory. I will probably go back for the breakfast burritos, but I can barely contain my anxiety to go back in and try the other afghani foods.

Such delicious food, whether you’re getting Mexican or afghani food. I love the sandwiches
