Dedra was wonderful to work with and her cakes were delicious. We celebrated my wife and her twin sister’s birthday in Napa this year. Not only was Dedra wonderful to work with (communicating exclusively via email), she was able to make a cake that was delicious, attactive and safe for a member of our group with a serious dairy alergy. I wholeheartedly recommend her for any occaision. We’ll be sure to make up an occaision for cake ourselves next time we are in Napa.

They said it couldn’t be done… a top quality, obscene «adult birthday cake» in less than 24 hours. After three embarrassing rejections from lame, judgmental bakers, I found Calistoga cakes! Dedra hooked me up with a truly spectacular piece of art. If was too beautiful to eat. But alas we did, then threw it in each other faces. The cake went above and beyond my expectations and delighted the birthday boy. I will defiantly be ordering again soon!

They made me a small wedding cake that was really beautiful and really tasty. People commented on how fresh the cake was and how good it tasted. We got the salted caramel filling and it was fantastic. Dedra was easy to work with and made the cutest little pears in place of the bride and groom. I couldn’t have been happier with the look or the flavors!

We were on a high-​low hunt for a Napa-​Valley local patisserie who could make a traditional French piece-​montee (Croquembouche in USA). I got a referral to Dedra from my amazing caterers Piper-​Johnson and promptly booked a tasting with her, my husband, and my ridiculously french-​dessert discerning parents.
Dedra had prepped three flavors of piece montee for us– classic vanilla crème, grand-​marnier, and rhum. Initially we were skeptical on the flavors and wanted classic– the grand marnier knocked our socks off though. We were nervous about having this cake at our wedding– this stands as a 4ft pyramid of profiteroles-​like puffs covered in spun sugar. Any sort of humid temperature would destroy these.
We coordinated the delivery of the cake later in the evening and I must say, I turned around when it was cake-​time, and it had magically appeared on our wine barrels! The cake freaking delivered! Everyone’s minds were blown by the beauty of this cake– our friends are still talking about it.
Dedra did a fantastic job with the croquembouche, I bet her business will boom in the Napa Valley– it certainly deserves it!

I found Dedra’s Calistoga Cake business at our local Calistoga Farmer’s Market. After checking out her website, I inquired about a rainbow trout cake for my boyfriend’s birthday. She sent me a picture of a previous fish cake she had made, a price, and all the details regarding the taste of the cake. I have to admit that the cake was perfect. My boyfriend said, «This is definitely the coolest cake I have ever gotten.» It went perfectly with all the fishing presents that he was given for this birthday. Additionally, the cake tasted wonderfully. I had a chocolate cake with salted caramel filling. It was a fantastic combination. It took the 2 of us several days to eat the cake, but it remained moist throughout its entirety. LOVE Calistoga Cakes!
