Often, people open restaurants with their hearts, and you can tell that there’s care and concern, but that the care had been directed in the wrong direction. Once in a while, restaurants are opened with the heart, and they are a successful, precious gem. I feel like I stumbled on that very gem today. As other reviews have said, you feel like you’re walking into somebody’s house – but not in a sort of way that you feel like you’re intruding on something, like some home-style restaurants. You are, no doubt, a guest in their home. I was welcomed, Dorothy introduced herself, asked my name, and remembered it. She was extremely friendly, introduced us to her sons helping in the kitchen, and gave us a run-down of the Blunozer deal – figure out what you want, order and pay at the front, sit down and be served. I’m gluten free, and discovered they not only had gluten free sandwiches at no upcharge that I could see, but also home-made GF pie. Wat.!? I needed some meat, so I ordered the roast beef gf sandwich combo with their iced tea. I also got a cold brew because, why not? Cold brew was scrumptious! And I know my coffee. The iced tea was so refreshing, especially with lemon. My friend is a vegetarian, and they were out of their veggie breakfast burrito, so Dorothy made a veggie sandwich on the fly, which was allegedly a hit with my friend. Our server was wonderful – a charming guy with a great sense of humor. He made sure we were always with iced tea, and came to check on us a couple times. Our food came out quickly, and was SOGOOD. My sandwich had some sort of home made coleslaw on it that was killer, and topped with spicy arugula, the whole thing had me weak in the knees. Both Dorothy and our server were so personable and kind, and seem so genuine. They both possess that ability to get to know you, be friendly, but also give you space so you can enjoy your company and your food. At the end of our meal, Dorothy gave us both hugs. I’ve never been here before, and I’ll admit it, I can be weird about hugging strangers, but this woman makes you feel so comfortable in her restaurant, I couldn’t help but nestle in for a quick hug sesh. She should feel so proud of the community and positive vibes she has helped create in this small space. I will definitely be back.

What a wonderful neighborhood coffee shop in a world dominated by Starbucks. The mushroom Fortuna quiche was lovely with a good basic latte which is only good when made with great coffee. Incredibly friendly staff. I wish I lived closer so I could stop by more often.

Was in Denver for a work trip and had some free time. Decided to look up a coffee shop with wifi so I could get a few extra things done. Decided to stop into Blunozer Café and was extremely happy with my choice! Cool little family type atmosphere and made me feel right at home. I had a cold brew with almond milk and then for lunch had a chicken salad sandwich with chips. Drink and food were both great, but the people that work there are even better. Will stop in again next time I’m in Denver just to say hi to them again. Definitely worth checking out!

Blunozer embodies authenticity. Its limited tables, eclectic décor, and charming hostesses create an experience of eating at your aunt’s house(the cool one whose been around the world — or at least lives in Nova Scotia). The food is of the same quality — these are recipes from home kitchens, not commercial. My most exciting find speaks to the great care the sisters have for finding the best ingredients. After five years in Denver, I’ve finally found great lox! The bagel, shipped parbaked from New York, was also unbelievably good. It is hard to express how happy I am to find someone who does the bagel, cream cheese, lox, onion, tomato, and capers right! My mates had asparagus quiche, pineapple quiche, and a breakfast sandwich — all gave big thumbs up. By the way, it’s pronounced like it looks — as in a blue nose(er). It’s the name of a ship in cold Nova Scotia, where your nose might turn blue. A model of the shop is in the restaurant.

This spot is A FIND!!! Roasted Pineapple Habanero with Pepper Jack Quiche and a glass of cold brew coffee — delicious! Everything is HANDMADE by the family. The most adorable, charming place. And you can’t help but fall in love with Della & Dorothy. Looking forward to my return.

Really quaint place. Has a nice sitting area outside that is surprisingly quiet. Delicious breakfast burrito, great value. Definitely try this place and browse the antique store next door

This place is a gem and I LOVE having the store and the owners in our neighborhood. The owners couldn’t be better – as others have noted, you feel right at home as soon as you walk in the door. The décor is quaint and the outdoor space is just as nice. We are always hosting guests at our house and continuously send them to Blunozer. In turn, each of our guests write in our guest book how wonderful the suggestion was to go to Blunozer; no bad experiences to date. I haven’t had a bad dish – recently, my favorite is the bagel sandwich with Bacon Jam! And their Americanos… Yum! Everything is homemade and served with that extra dose of service that is so hard to come by these days. Absolutely when you have a leisurely morning, head over to Blunozer – it’s the best in this neighborhood, if not all of Denver! We’ve been there for meetings, to do work on our computers, or to catch up with friends/family. It’s good for all occasions! Kudos to Dorothy and Della for creating this wonderful establishment!

This is a cute and cozy little hole-in-the-wall café. The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was really great and I will definitely be back. Try the green chili quiche, served with a side of even more chili!

This place is an absolute gem. The two sisters than run it, Dorothy and Della, are the sweetest ladies ever. We arrived around 9 and were greeted like family and introduced to everyone there. The atmosphere is adorable. Antiques for sale in every nook and cranny. And music to match the mood-Etta, Ella, and Billy all wailing the classics. And the FOOD! We split the chorizo breakfast burrito smothered in fantastic green chili, and the quince of the day-potato crust with bacon spinach mushroom and Gouda. Ugh! It was soooooo good. Lucky for us we live on the same block and we are now officially new regulars. Love this place!!!

Trusted the Unilocal reviews — I called in to order an apple pie for my boyfriend’s birthday. He is a pie connoisseur and said it was one of the best apple pies he has EVER had.(Coffee also delicious!) Della and Dorothy sang happy birthday and made us feel as if we had been friends for years. Truly an unforgettable birthday celebration! THANKYOUBLUNOZER! Absolutely will be back anytime we’re in Denver! Also we were heading to the mountains for the weekend– so they kindly let us borrow the pie plate and let us return on our way back through to the airport. Seriously? Amazing.

We stopped in for the smothered breakfast burritos with bacon and lattes and were treated very kindly by the owner. Very cool décor in this quaint café with a coastal European feel.

Charming is the first word that comes to mind when I think of Blunozer. Seated just off Colfax, this place is an adorable hole in the wall, that the owners, two sisters, have made cozy and comfortable. When you walk in the women are so friendly, they make you feel right at home. The women also make all the food in house. No importing from other places around town and you can tell these women love what they do! I tried the burrito and it was killer! I haven’t tried any of the other sweet treats but when I stopped in this morning a woman came back asking for more of their blueberry muffins because her grandson had loved them so much. That’s a great sign in my book. If you need a cozy place to enjoy a cup of coffee and want to feel like you’re right at home and not a stranger(even if it’s just your first time in) this is the place to stop in.

Stopped in after checking out Unilocal reviews while on a short trip in Denver. Such a cute place. Fantastic service. Everyone was so cheery and helpful. Dorothy was so nice and I can tell she has a great relationship with her customers. I’d be a regular if I lived nearby. One of the best iced coffees I’ve had in a long time — really.

Where to start! I came here with my family on my mother’s recommendation, and this place is such a gem! Blunozer is owned and run by two sisters from Nova Scotia, so I find myself around Canadian kindred with my husband. Very quaint, intimate, and feels like you’re walking into somebody’s home. The decour is filled with antiques, feeling like you’re walking into another time. They offer a good gluten-free selection, including gluten-free bread so you can have any of their sandwiches GF. I recommend the slow cooked turkey with melted brie, fig jam, and arugula. The restaurant is also moderately priced, very affordable. The owners are both such dear hearts, and really go out of their way to know their customers. Do yourself a favor and go experience a warmhearted homemade meal. I will definitely be back!

The most lovely people you can ever find to start your day. Cozy setting and delicious food and drink. Based on the owners the magic ingredient is definitely love :) Great service. Hot chai can be done with soy, almond and 1% milk. In addition of the chocolate cake, the French madeleine and homemade scones are amazing. Will try the coconut muffin next time!

My girlfriend and I went to Blunozer today for breakfast. Dorothy and Della are the best! We ordered a smothered breakfast burrito and a just out of the oven lobster quiche. Both items were delicious(and inexpensive!). I was impressed with the amount of actual lobster meat was in the quiche. It tasted like I was in Boston! We also both ordered coffee, which they import from Montana. The sisters were very chatty, and they immediately asked our names and made a concerted effort to remember our names as well as anyone who walked through the door. I can’t tell you how long it has been since I’ve been to an establishment that is this friendly. My girlfriend compared it to Cheers, and I think that’s an apt description, although unfortunately I didn’t see any liquor available! They have been open since February and it seems they have a steady stream of regulars who visit. I like the quirky nature of this bakery/coffee house. They have antiques, jewelry, and other items for sale on their walls. We really felt like we were home at Grandma’s there. They spoke proudly that the dishes they were serving were family recipes, particularly from their mom. That is super charming, and you aren’t going to get this level of personal attention or personal thought into products at a chain coffee house. They even offered to make special pies on request when my girlfriend was talking about enjoying rhubarb pie. We will definitely return very soon. I could easily see spending a couple hours here hanging out, eating good food, and chatting. My only warning would be that for those of you who want to be left alone, this might not be your best option in Denver. They WILL talk to you. Of course, you could ask to be left alone, but that isn’t much fun, now is it?
