They dislike people of western origin, which is obvious when they are asked to offer hot pot to them and play misunderstanding games. Why take our money and not share your culture when we want all you offer. Don’t lump us all into the categories of the west, who ask for your real food, and then send it back. We want what you eat, make a no return of order policy and serve your love. Your menu food is not good. Your hot pot looks wonderful, I’m hoping to take my friends of the east in to hopefully be able to try that hot pot in all its tasty glory.

The all you can eat hot pot is a great and valuable! the only place with hot and spicy hot pot in town! but the services need to be improved!

Came here after a snowboarding trip. Food was decent but way overpriced for something you can easily make in your house. My recommendation is to get the spice and ingredients you like from H Mart or Pacific Ocean and cook it yourself. Or spend the same amount at an all-you-can-eat sushi place.

Amazing pad Thai! Quick, friendly, and priced well. You know an Asian restaurant is going to be good when you walk in and it is full of Asians! Will definitely go back.

Pleased. — Food was tasty. Service was pleasant. Minus one star because waiter advised that he couldn’t add onion to my dish. I had chinese brocolli and beef. Otherwise a good experience. I’d come again.

Stay away. Closed by health department for pest infestation. Just reopened but health department notice still on door so not sure how/why they are open.

Have been here three times so far and twice were for hot pot. You know they have authentic Chinese food when most of the people inside are Chinese. The hot pot is decent although the meat are not sliced as thin as those in NYC. The Chinese menu also have several interesting dishes. The Sichuan style dishes are very good, there are also Shanghai dishes but not as good as the Shanghai Kitchen a couple of streets away. Overall it is a good place for authentic Chinese food in DTC. The owner was very friendly and very prompt to refill water and bring our food.

Food is terrific; service is questionable. My kung pao shrimp was fantastic! my lunch serving included a desirable quantity of jumbo shrimp, and a nice helping of peanuts and large-chopped onions(white/yellow & red) and bell-peppers(green & red). The primary receptionist/cashier i dealt with was a bit cold and almost rude. She didn’t act as if she desired my business. Instead, it seemed like I was inconveniencing her. Nevertheless, its the best serv of chinese food I’ve had in the metro area; outside of Downtown and Capital Hills/Heights. I will go back soon to dine-in… hopefully my service will be better.

I’ve heard great reviews for Blue Ocean from co-workers in DTC area. Delivery was quick, food was hot and delicious. Sesame chicken, lo mein and crab cheese wantons were good. Portions are midsized for price. Overall good experience and food. Will be back soon.

We frequent this place for lunch as it is right by my office. Their food is great. My favorite is the Shrimp with Vegetables. The Lo Mein and Sesame Chicken are also good. The lunch comes with soup, egg roll, and cheese wonton, and rice so you can have all your favorites at once! I will say the service is a bit hap-hazard. The servers will typically bring out food as it is ready which means that sometimes one person has their food for up to 10 minutes before others. If you are doing a casual lunch and accept this, no big deal. If you are looking for a more formal experience — it might not be your best option.

I live right next door so I just call ahead and pick up. Food was ready fast and customer service have been fine the times that I’ve gone in. I usually order chicken lo mein and the crab and cheese wantons and have enjoyed both every time. :)

The menu and name has changed recently. Old menu was wonderful — new menus is horrible. We had no idea they changed anything(we ordered just over a week ago and it was wonderful from the old menu). Ordered our typical order nothing was the same, soggy Sesame Beef, dipping sauce for Dumplings was really fishy.

I give this place four stars because I hope that Unilocal will publish my review. We got their delivery service last night after receiving a flyer sometime in the past month. The lo mein with roast pork was the best we’ve found in the area! The pad Thai was also very good but not as flavorful & spicy as I would make myself — I will still order it again! Delivery was fast especially for a Friday night and they already put common condiments in the bag. Overall, we will eat this again(and probably again!).

One of the most uncomfortable dining experiences my husband and I experienced. A few weeks ago, we were searching for a restaurant that served hot pot nearby so we decided to eat at Blue Ocean since most«bad» reviews were based on delivery. We ordered sesame chicken for our kids who quickly and surprisingly devoured it. It was just an average dish but it filled up our 3 toddlers so that was a plus. My husband and I ordered their«unlimited» hot pot, which is about $ 30 per person even though we shared There was a large variety of items to choose from to add into the broth. However, many items weren’t available that night. I didn’t mind that the items we chose weren’t available but it did bother me that they didn’t inform us until we kept questioning about the items that weren’t given to us. Vegetables were wilted, fish was frozen, and mushrooms were not cut well. Overall, paying $ 75+ for two dishes is overboard especially with the lack of fresh ingredients. Another thing that put us off from ever coming back is the constant, «Watch out for your kids, the pot is really hot.» We got it the first two times(and already know this because we eat it often) but after the 5+ time, I was annoyed.

This review is for delivery. I live 4.2 miles away, so they charged me a $ 2.00 delivery charge. We ordered three dishes at 6:20PM on a Friday night. They delivered them 45 minutes later — oops, I mean they delivered two dishes, one of which was something we had ordered. We called them back & they offered a credit for our next order but I requested that they fix the order. 45 minutes later, our corrected order arrived. So for all that, –2 stars. The Mo Shu Pork(their spelling) was quite good. The steamed dumplings were cold(due to the delivery problems) but they were all right. The Water Boiled Hot Triple Delight was awful. It was described as «slice chicken, beef and fish filets in hot chili oil and red chili pepper paste cooked with mixed vegetables» [sic]. It did not have any red pepper flavor at all — there were tons of whole black peppercorns, which totally over-seasoned the dish & were awkward to chew as well. The dish was so salty I rinsed out my mouth after a few bites. Totally disgusting & not at all what the description sounded like. +1 star for the yummy mushu, no points awarded/deducted for average dumplings, & –2 stars for the awful Triple Delight. I’m glad we insisted on getting our order fixed instead of taking a credit for a future order, because there’s never going to be another order from Blue Ocean.

Food arrived as if it was at least a day old. Delivery took too long… 1 hour. Food was way overpriced for the quality. I have had better Chinese at near half the price in the area.

I placed an order on Saturday at 4pm shortly after they opened. The food delivered was clearly not made the same day because the vegetables were wilted and the sauce was dry on top. Very expensive leftovers. I made an account because I was very disappointed, would not recommend.

My current go to place for Chinese in the DTC. Portion sizes are good and food is above average. My current favorite is Garlic Chicken. Come with hefty amount of chicken(not breaded) and also a good amount of mixed vegetables, which I REALLY appreciate. Broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, celery, peppers, and mushrooms. I don’t prefer the sesame chicken or sesame beef here(too much breading), but the sesame tofu is good. Lo Mein also good. Can’t go wrong with the family deal, you’ll have food for days! $ 26 gets you two entrees, rice, 2 large soups, egg rolls, and crab cheese wontons. Delivery typically fast.

Me and my Asian friend came here for a late lunch. It was my first time eating hot pot in a restaurant, so I must have looked very excited. I hope that’s why all employees were looking at me so much. The place was not busy, I think we were only people in the restaurant. When they brought a hot pot menu, to my disappointment it was all in chinese! So I had to entrust my hunger to my friend. Waiter spoke in chinese too, all the time. but it was translated to me that they will have a menu in english if I come back next week. Quite cute! It’s all you can eat, you can imagine we order a lot to taste. And food was fantastic, I especially liked their selection of hot pot sauces.
