Highly recommended! Great as a gift or a great memento for yourself.
I had two small paintings done, one of my first beloved Boston Terrier Gizmo (which he was able to great a great likeness of him with pictures I sent since he went to The Rainbow Bridge on 12÷8÷14), and one of my new pups Apollo. David was great to work with from start to finish and he captured exactly what I was looking for (especially in my pup that passed away). These a great mementos which I will treasure throughout the years.
Again I highly recommend him and would have him do more paintings of beloved pets in the future. Thanks David!

What can I say other than if you need a gift, for yourself or anyone else, that will honor a pet long after he/​she is gone, look no further. David does simply amazing portraits and is a total pleasure to work with. His work is as good as it gets. We’ve just got one of his paintings so far but will surely have a wall full of them before long!

I met David this summer while he was painting at Whole Foods in Del Mar. He was working on a portrait and we sat and watched him a bit. All I can say is WOW! He is so talented. He had on display a few finished pieces that were amazing. I grabbed his card and got in contact with him to paint my 12 year old terrier, Leo. From my first contact with David, I felt like I knew him forever. The kind of person you know right away is good people. He was very professional from the first contact to the end when I received my portrait. I can’t say enough good about him. I have told every pet lover I know. His ability to capture my dog is incredible. Every grey hair, every shadow, even down to his under bite! I love my portrait and can’t wait to get him to do my other dog. I reached out to David to paint my girlfriend’s dog for a Christmas present. He did an incredible job — he helped me pick a photo that would work best for a painting, and kept me updated throughout the entire process with emails and photos.
