This is one of the worst places I have ever rented from. The apartment itself is nice and I really enjoy the location, but don’t even bother to call the Management. Ray Plunkett is the building Manager, and is the most unpleasant individuals I have ever dealt with. He hounded me about parking my car outside for 5 mins to run up and grab something out of my apartment. It was 90 degrees outside and he stuck a HUGE sticker on my window of my car. When I am standing outside peeling the sticker off, Ray is yelling at me through his windows telling me I better hurry because the tow truck is coming, etc. This place is awful and don’t believe anything they tell you. The AC had been broken since it got warm out, it is now over a month later and NOTHING has been done. It was 90 degrees inside my apartment last week. The dishwasher has been broken since we moved in, they came to look at it but said nothing was wrong so it is still broken. Don’t ever rent any properties from Brownstone Realty. And good luck if you ever have to deal with Ray Plunkett as your building manager. He parks in the unloading zone, which is specifically for tenants to unload groceries and what not. He is a major jerk and very unpleasant person.

Thanks for the time, but you’re gonna have to do more than change the carpets if you wanna get rid of the smell of cat pee.

A decent apartment building owned by Brownstone Realty. The Athenia runs a bit pricey, but the units are large(most have big balconies, too) and the building is very well managed. The in-apartment amenities aren’t top-of-the-line(e.g. cheap cabinets, forced air heat) but they are clean and well-maintained. The prime location is right around the block from a handful of nice restaurants and bars, and only three blocks from City Park. Many residents are long-term.
