Alternative Chiropractic Center

I was recommended to Dr. Aaron at Alternative Chiropractic by a friend. I’d had chronic tendonitis after a hip replacement, and after two years of trying everything from PT to cortisone injections to massage, my friend thought cold laser therapy was worth a try.
It’s a long drive from Summit County, and cold laser requires multiple treatments, but it’s been well worth it. I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to have discovered Alternative Chiropractic and Dr. Aaron. First of all, Dr. Aaron exudes warmth, caring and enthusiasm and you can truly tell he’s interested in you as a patient. He simply loves what he does, and making you better is a priority, whether it’s one visit or twenty. The treatments were also incredibly reasonable, and after spending years with various doctors and therapies (sometimes wondering if shrinking my wallet may have been their primary goal) I was actually shocked at the affordability. I did a series of five cold laser treatments, and they truly did help in reducing the inflammation. Dr. Aaron also found that my pelvis was out of alignment, which was something the doctors and therapists hadn’t identified.
With four hip surgeries in less than five years and a history of overproduction of scar tissue, Dr. Aaron was also the first to suggest that I may need to explore the possibility of RA or other inflammatory or autoimmune disease. I told Dr. Aaron that I’d been tested for this before, but the blood test came back negative. He explained to me how RA works and how the tests work and got me back on track with exploring this possibility again. I had a serious discussion with my hip doctor and he was in full agreement that RA is most likely the underlying cause of my chronic condition, but I’m not sure if this discussion would have come about without Dr. Aaron entertaining the idea first. Hopefully, I can now address the underlying problem of my hips instead of simply repairing the ravages of this disease.
I ultimately did have to undergo surgery one more time after my hip collapsed on me while stepping off a stool. Dr. Aaron heard about it and gave me a call, saying he could treat me with the cold laser on a different setting to help me heal quicker after the surgery. I didn’t know when my surgery would finish, but he said to just give him a call when I was released from the hospital. It was his day off and he came into the office specifically to give me a treatment, all for $ 32! Dr. Aaron has also worked with me on the Avatar system, and we’re working together to get my chronic inflammation under control.
I’ve dealt with so many doctors and health professionals in the past several years and I can’t rate Dr. Aaron highly enough. He’s everything you’d want a doctor to be: kind, caring, compassionate, knowledgeable, resourceful, open minded, accessible, affordable and funny. If you happen to stumble on Alternative Chiropractic and for me, Dr. Aaron, you’ve landed in a very good place!

I want to start out by saying that I have special needs when it comes to back issues. I have had surgery on my L4 and L5 (15 years ago) and with my current age and degenerative disc issues, I need special care with both Chiropractic and Message Therapy. There are weeks that occur where my pain level is 10+, I walk crooked, I cant get out of bed and I am stunned with joints out of alignments that further acerbate issues between muscles and structure. I have gone to MANY Chiropractors in the past, I have done MANY treatment techniques, all which have failed or made matters worst. LUCKY for me, I have found the right team, and they ONLY team who can help me when I am in trouble. Both Dr. Elliot and Josh (the miracle message man) are without a doubt, absolutely a god send for me. Not only do I get immediate relief from my pain, they also know how to continue with adjustments so that I go longer without back spells which allows me to spend more time doing what I want to do rather than sitting home in pain. What I like best about this team and office is, they don’t try to sell you on return visits, they only want to treat what needs to be treated and if you are feeling good, they don’t want to see you. I have been going to Alternative Chiropractic Center since 2008 and have seen everyone in the office. Dr. Smith is an excellent Chiropractor, he keeps my body in working order with many less aches and pains. My husband also sees «Doc» on a regular basis. I have also had really wonderful massage sessions with Josh. His work with Thai massage is truly top notch! Last but not lest, Eva, the Acupuncturist, is worth the visit. She has helped both my husband and I with differing aliments from allergies to women’s issues. I highly recommend the entire staff at ACC and have referred many friends and family as well.

Our entire family of 5 has been seeing Dr. Elliott for 9 years now! He has seen us through broken bones, pulled muscles, hormonal imbalance, allergies, nutritional needs, colds, flu, physical therapy, laser work and chiropractic adjustments. He is truly a miracle worker and his Avatar analysis is spot on. We also see Josh for Thai massage & he is amazing. Eva is a master at acupuncture, needling and homeopathic muscle injections. Christine at the front desk is phenomenal. We feel so blessed to have found this practice full of caring practitioners with such high levels of expertise in their respective fields. Put simply… Alternative Chiropractic rocks!!!

I regularly see Dr. Woods and Carissa Macklin for acupuncture, chiropractic and massage. Dr. Woods has made a HUGE impact on my overall health. I initially saw her for stomach problems and found that acupuncture makes a huge impact on the function of my whole body. Any time I feel under the weather, Dr. Woods provides advice that is right on point and offers natural solutions that don’t require medications. I am always amazed at how my body responds. Carissa is an amazing massage therapist. I had some serious pain in my right hip and with consistent care, she helped me get my body back in shape. She amazes me with her technical knowledge of the body and she provides advice to her patients for self care to continue healing. I would also like to give a special mention to Idoo Genovez who helps manage the front desk. She is patient and caring and makes sure you get the help you need from the staff. After having my son last year, I noticed that I was getting increasing amounts of pain in my hip. After meeting Dr. Woods at the Cherry Creek Farmer’s Market, she identified my problem and discussed some solutions. Its been 5 sessions, and I am feeling so much better! The manipulations used to get my pelvis re-​aligned were never painful, and after each session, I walked out feeling like I was standing taller, more level, and generally more comfortable. We used deep tissue massage (there is an in-​house therapist,) to help loosen up some of my overly-​tight muscles before a couple of the sessions, and I was given home therapy to continue my progress and keep me aligned.
I appreciated that this wasn’t an open-​ended course of treatment — up front, I knew approximately how many sessions it would take, how much they would cost (totally reasonable! The even take United Healthcare,) and what to expect if we weren’t as successful with the chiropractic treatment as we hoped. I was admittedly worried by the idea of there being this on-​going «you should keep coming back indefinitely for maintenance» sort of mentality, but it was not there, and as a patient that was awesome!
