Denver, Colorado– I purchased A Touch of Class groupon for interior paint and called to schedule an appointment. I was surprised that the person answering the company’s phone answered with«hello?» After I confirmed it was in fact the correct number for the business I asked to schedule the service for my master bath. The woman proceeded to tell me, «bathrooms and kitchens are not included.» I advised her that that information was not included anywhere in the description and she said, «oh it’s there. Check the fine print.» I reviewed the Groupon 3 additional times and had my friends and family that were here do the same. Nobody saw anything about kitchen and bath exclusions. The next morning I called back to report this to the business and again I heard«hello?» instead of a proper business salutation. I explained the situation and was told, «irregardless of what you don’t see we don’t do kitchens or bathrooms.» I hope the business gets it together and starts acting like a business for their own sake. First impressions are important from the initial phone call to the scheduling to the actual delivery of services. By the way, «irregardless» is not a proper word. I will be requesting a refund since their scope of services are not as written. I should have checked the Unilocal reviews first– it sounds like I dodged a bullet as this company has awful reviews!

I had a great experience with Touch of Class Painting. I just did one dining room(3 walls) and the wainscoting in our powder room and I felt like the price was very reasonable($ 89). I thought that Tammy was very helpful and professional on the phone and willing to make my experience a good one and work with me. Part of our arrangement was buying the paint myself and I received a very helpful email with instructions and a discount code for Home Depot. The painter arrived at my home on time(actually I was a little late getting there myself which I felt bad about, but he was very accommodating and kind about it) and I felt really comfortable with him being in my home. He did a good job and I’m happy with the results.

I am highly disappointed in the same things as everyone else: 1) it took forever for them to schedule an appointment with me 2) They didn’t answer emails 3) When they finally did arrive, they charged me a very high amount of money for incredibly shoddy work. I honestly could have made the room look better myself. I paid over $ 500(NOT including paint) for a single room due to multiple paint colors, and then they didn’t even bother to let the paint dry between coats. They didn’t use tape to create straight lines. The room looked so bad that I had to call Matt to come back out, which to his credit he did. However even after his touch up there are several spots that are not done well, something several of my clients/coworkers have commented on. I had to do touch ups myself. I am very slow to anger in general, but this experience made me extremely angry. I wish I could get my money back. Do NOT use this company. They will rip you off and leave you wishing you had just painted the room yourself.

Touch of Class Painting did a wonderful job of both painting and doing some dry wall repair in my home. Matthew and Tammy are so professional and I would highly recommend their services.

I also purchased a groupon for 2 rooms of painting. There was supposed to be an initial consultation included(to assess needs for the rooms, choose colors, etc) which never happened. When I called to set up an appointment for the consultation, it turned out to be strictly for painting day. When I asked the owner about how much paint I needed to buy, I was told a gallon per room would be enough for 2 coats that they always apply. Prepping walls, primer, etc were extra costs not included in the groupon… the price was for applying paint ONLY. On the day of the appointment(also a Monday) no one showed up. Almost two hours after the scheduled time I got a call from the owner telling me the painter was involved in an accident(same excuse as the above review)! I told her they sure seem to have a lot of accidents with their employees. That got her very flustered and defensive. We arranged to have the painter come the following day. To ensure there would be no further problems I emailed groupon to update them on the issues. I did receive a call and email from the owner apologizing and the painter did show the next morning. The painter did not apply 2 coats of paint to the walls as I was told was always done. He said only one wall of eight needed a second coat. Maybe it was because I bought top paint/primer or maybe it was just another thing promised but not delivered by this company. I don’t know. The work was average requiring minor removal of a few paint drips on baseboard and touch ups on a couple of very tiny areas missed. No drop cloths were used to cover my furniture(as I was expecting) but fortunately it was piled far enough away from the painting to prevent get splattered.

We purchased a Groupon for $ 179 which was valued at $ 700 worth of room painting. We had Touch of Class paint our fairly large kitchen as well as three doors, trim, and small repairs to the wall, adding an additional $ 425 in work. Paint was not included. $ 1200 would have been extremely overpriced for the job, though $ 600 was fair. The quality of the work was sufficient. My problem lies with how Touch of Class conducts their business. It took several weeks to schedule an initial consultation with them and the actual day of painting, even after explaining that it had to be done during a particular week when I was available. They were scheduled on a Monday, did not show up or call. After several calls to them we were told that the painter was in a car accident and they would reschedule. We did not hear from them for the rest of Monday or Tuesday despite several voicemails we left with them. We were finally contacted Wednesday afternoon after threatening legal action. Friday when the painter did show up he claimed that the additional work, agreed to by the man who conducted the consultation, was not actually included. More phone calls were left with the company’s answering machine and after a phone conversation with the secretary these issues were resolved. There was no written contract signed and we had to ask(demand) that some sort of written agreement be provided. We received an email outlining the work and cost of the job which was legally binding enough for us to be comfortable with proceeding. With the Groupon, the work was a good deal. I would never pay full price and even with a discount I will not work with Touch of Class again because their business practices are too inconvenient and in my opinion, unprofessional.

I am very disappointed in the work that was completed at our residence. For both scheduled appointments, the painter Mark was over an hour late. The first visit the painter seemed to be in a hurry so the ceiling in the bathroom was ran over with one coat of gray paint instead of white as we requested and the lines were uneven. The second visit, he rushed the job and he only used one coat of paint. The work would have been a lot better had we completed the job ourselves.
