I wish I could give 0 stars. This place has the worst customer service. Not only do the employees not speak any English, not even passable English but they are rude as well. Very aggressive and rush you out then door even when you’re the only one in there. I will never be back to this location, and I live one block away. I’d rather go out of my way to go to a different one.

This 7 – 11 just happens to be poppin busy, no matter what time of day or night you may show up. Granted, the people working here ALWAYS give you the time of day, but you’ll have to wait in the longest of lines to finally receive the smile and brief interaction with the cashier that somehow makes the whole short-but-annoying experience tolerable. The 4 gas pumps are always full. Always. And you’ll likely find a line waiting for the next open spot.

The fourth stop on my 7⁄11 road trip, this store was out of the way, and the only location not positioned on any major avenue in Denver. Nestled in at the corner Knox and 1st, this store is in a state of disrepair, and does not seem like it would attract a lot of business. However, perhaps owing to its inner city location, this store was one of the busiest I visited all day. I get the impression that it is a major commodity for those living within walking distance. Could it be possible that a 7 – 11 still serves as a friendly neighborhood corner store? This franchise suggests exactly that. The first thing I noticed about the store is its noticeably rundown condition. While not falling apart, both the interior and exterior of this store are not very welcoming, although neither are the neighboring businesses. The store is not a large one, and parking spots seem to fill up quickly. A gallon of regular unleaded gas was the day’s high of $ 2.49, probably owing to its lack of competition in the crux of the neighborhood. Today’s Slurpees machine offered up the following flavors: Coke, Cherry, Liquid Artillery(blue raspberry), Pina Colada, Mountain Dew, and Banana. Since the sun was starting to take its toll by this point, I thought I’d give the Pina Colada a shot. The results? A mild, not-too-sweet slush… just right. This place is looking up! The business at this 7 – 11 cycled faster than a revolving door: the parking lot was full when I pulled up, empty when I left, and managed to fill back up while I was taking photos outside. Pedestrian patronage seemed high, too, lending to my hypothesis that this store depends on nearby residents more than most. The staff seemed uninterested by my visit(if only they knew I’d be grading them on their performance!), muttering me in the right direction for the day’s Free Slurpee Cups. The clerk filled up her own 7.11 oz vessel, which, admittedly, would be my main incentive for working at such a store. The location offers little appeal for those making any pilgrimages over to Denver’s western border(and there are plenty of good 7−11s nearby on West Alameda Ave), but this store seems to get by just fine. I don’t think this is one I’ll have cause to visit ever again, but I’m sure the locals appreciate it more than my brief visit suggested.
