Cute little store with some interesting wares. Most things are pretty pricey, however, we found a great dog toy without a price tag that the attendant sold to us for super cheap. Surprisingly it’s held its own again our two dogs.

Do not be fooled! This is not a post office! They can not do typical post office procedures and should definitely not call themselves a USPS, or maybe they just don’t know how to do them and refuse to learn. The woman who is always there was very unhelpful and refused to even try to help me send a package I had incorrectly weighed with postage claiming it couldn’t be done. I had to find the next nearest post office when i’m tight on time and they were surprised that they had refused to do it considering its standard procedure and stated this location may not even be legally affiliated with USPS. I went back to inform the woman of her lack of knowledge and she was rude and refused to hear about her mistake. Also — as I was waiting in the long line, I finally make it to the counter and she runs up to the front to ring grocery customers without even an apology or word! And I know I had entered the store way before they had! Side note– The groceries are basic and extremely overpriced. Just totally unprofessional and shady place. Will not be giving any more of my business to a place where I know more about shipping then they do(and I really don’t know all too much haha!).

Stopped in while waiting for brunch at Shells & Sauce. Nice little market. I didn’t notice the staff being rude at all. They said they are starting to carry more locally made items so I picked up some great hummus made by Eat Some Dip & pickles by The Real Dill.

With so many bad reviews, I feel obligated to write my own. I live a couple blocks away and have the choice of going to 7 – 11 or to 12th ave. I ALWAYS choose 12th ave. market. The owners are quirky, yes, but pretty awesome. The wife is hilarious! There have been a few items that they didn’t carry that I requested and the next time I was there, they had stocked them. It is expensive, but that’s what you get for convenience. I do agree with other customers that the postal service is subpar and it can be really annoying to wait to buy something at the front counter while they are helping someone in back. They also have a heavier set younger girl working there, she suuuuuucks! I avoid her at all costs!

A note to the male owner of the store: Your rude commentary isn’t funny, and your general tone is not congruent with good or even average customer service. If you don’t want to be kept until 5:00 to finish up with your postal customers, you should probably not offer the service at all. No matter what you decide on this matter, telling your customers that their procrastination is causing you to work later than you want isn’t acceptable. I left worrying that you would remove my very time sensitive envelope from the post box the carrier was about to pick up, just to spite me for causing you extra work. No customer should leave feeling that the store owner would do something to negatively impact them because he has such a bad attitude. This is my second negative review here, and both times it was due specifically to your poor level of customer service, not the store or other employees in general.

Meh. I’ve shipped several items from this location(and luckily all have arrived at their correct destinations), but the customer service is inconsistent. Sometimes the lady(I’m assuming the owner?) goes above and beyond to provide excellent service, but other times she seems bothered by simple questions. If they provided more consistent customer service, it’d be worth shopping there more often.

I don’t want to give 5 stars because all I do is grab a single item and go, but every time I have it’s been a pleasant and brief transaction, so 1 star doesn’t seem warranted. Not sure why so many reviews are whining about service, it’s a small convenience store. That’s like complaining about a 7⁄11 employee, who cares! I could understand if you’re berated and looked down on while in here you would walk away from the experience thinking you’ve been wronged. But for getting a soda or an ice cream on a Sunday who honestly gives a shit?

Do not ship from here! On the 25th of June I went into this location to send out 3 packages intended for different people. The lady that helped me could not provide a receipt of the shipments as «their system was down». Instead she gave me 3 tracking #‘s for the shipments, which I wrote down on a piece of paper and emailed to the recipients. Fast forward 2 weeks– 2⁄3 of the packages arrived at the intended destination. The third package had an invalid shipping # when tracked through the USPS website. The third package that never arrived was a GPS unit worth $ 150 dollars that I was selling through Amazon. It was still in its original box when I shipped it out. I went into the 12th Avenue Market & Deli today and explained my situation to the man that was working as a cashier for the store and the shipping/USPS side. At first he tried looking for the receipt among all the other various receipts they had, but to no avail. He then explained that the person who could enter the code to gain access to all the transactions made previous was currently in Greece and that she wouldn’t be back for another 3 weeks! I tried to probe more into what was going on and how we could remedy this situation, but he refused to speak with me afterwards and simply stated their was nothing he could do and«talk to the owners». So I waited in the store and called USPS directly, asking them what I should do when one of their USPS locations refused to cooperate with me. While on the phone I mentioned that the person working in the store was refusing to talk to me, and in a highly unprofessional manner the man interjected, yelling«that’s not true». While finished with the phone call he still refused to speak or even acknowledge me. I’ve now had to file a missing parcel claim with USPS. This has turned into a huge ordeal, taking up an inordinate amount of my time, and stress in tracking down this package so I don’t loose $ 150 for a package that has an invalid tracking #. Use this store as a quick grocery/snack run, but do not under any circumstance ship a package from this location. It is extremely unprofessional and against USPS regulations to not provide a shipping receipt for packages before or after the fact. Beware, and take the lesson I had to learn the hard way.

12th Avenue Market & Deli is also a certified U.S. Post Office, yet the last three times I’ve been in there just to purchase stamps, they don’t have any. I live in the neighborhood and am always surprised that this place is even open. When will someone buy it and put in a gourmet market or at least a business that lives up to what it promises, like having stamps when one needs them.

Convenient for when you have a cooking emergency and are out of one thing. However, its super pricy so if you need a couple of things, it’s probably cheaper to just walk to the nearby Walgreens or 7 – 11. Also, it’s great that they have a post office but sucks that even though you shop at the store they won’t accept your package when you are returning a package to a store.

Well I will never go back to this store again! Having lived within walking distance(and being unknowingly naïve), I have frequented this store often. Their inventory is bizarrre– at one point it’s all fancy pastas, oil-tinned tuna and gourmet. The next, it’s boxed meals, canned cat food and chips. Super inconsistent, super over priced. Now I’ve moved further away but stopped in a week ago to mail a package at their little post office. The guy seemed competent enough. Got my package done, put the label on, paid my $ 6 and left with a receipt. While I was there, one of the workers announced that she was going to the store to «stock up» on things for their store. Bread, eggs, milk, etc. Apparently they shop at King Soopers to jack the prices up for the neighborhood? Last I checked, there’s a thing called WHOLESALE to provide decent prices to your customers. Fast forward a week and the package I «sent’ has still not arrived at its cross-state destination. Being an idiot, I threw away the receipt thinking that there’d be no need to track a package. Dumb plan. I called the store today to see if they could help me and the lady who answered(must be an owner– the same one who was«stocking up») was a TOTAL B&T$#. It’s one thing to be rude. It’s another thing to be the way she was. No help, no suggestions and basically told me to leave them alone. I asked how a Post Office had no solution to my missing package and she said«well we’re a contractor. we just put labels on things». There ya have it. I’m so over this place. Congratulations, 12th Avenue Market & Deli for alienating your clientele and forcing us to go somewhere where customer service exists and business acumen is a trait.

This store is a solid three star sort of place — it’s got the basics and always meets your needs. They also have the bonus of sheer convenience in their location. This morning I needed dryer sheets. Done. We’ve also need salsa, diet coke, burritos, fresh fruit, and bread at one point or another, and they’ve got what we need every time. They have freshly made bread and cookies and other things from time to time. They’re a post office. I’ve always had friendly service, too.

There’s always a funky smell at this place but the staff is always nice and it’s a half a block away from my apartment in the event of bacon emergencies.

If you’re looking for unmitigated assholery, go to here. If you’d like competent or courteous service, just don’t. Ever. Every single person I know who has been in this store(that’s 4 people, for the record) has had comically bad service, both on the post office and the store side of things. They also have no idea what they are doing. For example: once, they had tax on a bag of chips(this is illegal in Denver, where food that is not for immediate consumption is not taxed). When I mentioned this to the cashier, he insisted that hermetically sealed chips are for«immediate consumption.» Just… no. Another time, they to overcharge on shipping for a letter(the actual cost was not difficult to calculate, as the rules are really clear). Did I mention these guys are total douchewads? Because man, they are douchewads.

I’m with the majority of people on the site. How great to have a little market in the neighborhood. How much better would it be if the people who owned the store actually cared about customer service! If someone makes a suggestion to you to make your service better, graciously accept it. You’re not obligated to do anything about it, but you are certainly not in line by arguing and being a complete jerk about it. Unless your ‘brand’ is a bad attitude, then you need a serious shift in how you treat people. This is definitely not the first time i’ve experienced something like this, but it will be my last, as after several instances of this over visits for the past few years, I won’t be back. Word of advice to the owners: If you can’t accommodate certain services in the store, and you’re not willing to do what you need to do so, THENDON’T OFFERTHEM.

This review is basically just for the UPS office in the store: which is super convenient. Whenever I got to other post offices it always takes forever to wait in line and get a package out or by stamps etc. Going here for post needs is a huge timesaver. Because we live nearby my mom will often need me to run here when we are missing something for dinner; although the options aren’t super wide they normally have whatever we need and even though its more expensive than your chain grocery store the staff is friendly and its convenient for us.

I really, really want to like and support this place, because it’s two blocks from the house and the people inside are really friendly. It’s a mini-grocery store with a mini post office. You can’t do your full shopping here, but in theory it should be great for when you’re out of one or two things and don’t want to hop in the car to drive to the store. However, I’ve been here probably 10 times, and found what I wanted probably 4 of those times. Usually I’m looking for something like a green pepper, or bananas, or something like that, and either they’re out, or they’re super expensive(unfairly compared to a big chain store, I know, but 50 cents per banana is a lot compared to 50 cents per pound of bananas). It is nice to have the post office option, but it’s only open until 5, which means those of us who have to go to work can’t really get home to use it. Be warned, this is NOT A FULLPOSTOFFICE, so if you have complaints about not being able to do all your usual post office business here, you’re not really getting it. I’m struggling with between 2 and 3 stars here. To be fair, I haven’t had any of their sandwiches, which people seem to like, so I’ll go 3. We were just really excited to find this place when we moved into the neighborhood, and we’ve been unfortunately disappointed by our trips here more often than not.

I can’t say it enough! As a neighbor and local business owner here on 12th Avenue, I so appreciate having Shawn, Stephanie, Jet and Andrew serving us with their generosity. They could choose to work anyplace else and they have chosen our great neighborhood! Thank you! Having 12th Avenue Market and Deli is an asset to our Congress Park Neighborhood and anybody who believes otherwise probably doesn’t live here to appreciate it and these great folks. I love not having to get in the car and driving 10 minutes to the«big box markets». Last Sunday I bought eggs and biscuits! I stopped in last night for vegetables. I can’t count how many times we buy sandwiches for the office for lunch. Having a Post Office Sub-Station is an awesome amenity too! No lines to speak of! I drop letters here and buy my postage orders several times a week. Fresh Sandwiches! Specialty foods! I always see something new when I’m there. Keep up the good work and excellent service. We’re the lucky ones! I’m off to see if they have corn bread for dinner tonight!

12th Avenue Market & Deli is all sorts of convenient. Located amongst a bustling hub of businesses on 12th Avenue in Congress park, this store houses a deli with sandwiches galore, a USPS branch and an assortment of groceries and toiletries. Tonight, I grabbed a bottle of juice and a loaf of bread. A couple days ago, I mailed a package and then picked up a pint of ice cream. It’s in-and-out shopping at its finest. Even if you’re just popping in for an item or two, you can count on being greeted by the clerk. It’s a neighborhood store and it feels like the people who work there are truly your neighbors with the friendly small talk.
