Do not fall for the «Sales Pitch!» Tim told us how he would personally represent of our kid. After we paid the retainer, we were never allowed to see Mr. Powers or speak to him. We were shuffled off to a junior Associate. Communication was very poor until they needed another check. We left Mr. Powers numerous message which were never returned. He told us that we a great defense in his sales pitch, however they (his Junior Associate) never presented a defense. We were given a pleas bargain that any attorney could provide.
We let our child down by falling for the Sales Pitch. Don’t make the same mistake. I’m surprised the Texas Bar Association does not discourage this «Bait & Hook.»

Absolute worst decision I have ever made in my life was picking Tim Powers to represent me on my 1^st DWI arrest. He gave me more time during his sales pitch then anytime during the suppose negotiations with the DA. Texas seriously needs to open up a judicial complaint on these attorney’s who give outrageous sales pitch but totally disappear after receiving the money. Numerous times I have called and e-​mailed Tim Powers, but he would never respond. If you look up at the county website for criminal offenses, Tim Powers has the most cases that are settled with the DA where the prosecution sets their own punishment. Another words Tim Powers does not represent the client but represent the DA’s in punishing you vs. portraying like he really cares during his sales pitch. After couple of months of absolute disgust I went with another attorney.

WOW, after reading the first review I was surprised! We are going through the exact same thing with this attorney right now. Absolutely NO communication whatsoever about the case. Got a letter in the mail this evening regarding the court date for TOMORROW that states we need to have the balance paid in full in order to dispose of our case tomorrow! No information regarding the case though. Can’t get return phone calls, attorney is never available and our defendant is expected to show up in court and make an informed decision as to whether he should accept or decline a plea that he knows absolutely nothing about! He hasn’t heard from the attorney, doesn’t know what consequences are involved with whatever this plea is suppose to be, or anything. Granted its a misdemeanor, but still — it could have long term affects. VERY leery of this guy right now!

I was not very happy with my experience. I hired them after being arrested for a DWI in July, expecting to hear from them through out my case. The only form of communication was a letter each month, asking for my monthly payment. They did not respond to my emails. I finally received a letter from them six months later, that was to tell me I had a court date coming up and that I would need to pay my remaining balance. Still no information about my case. After sending my last check of the remaining balance, they call me, THE NIGHT BEFORE my court date, and tell me that its not looking good and I need to take the plea bargain. I still have not seen my DWI tape, or know if they really followed up on any of the details of the case they said they would. So now, I have a DWI on my record (which I know is my own fault, and I take full responsibility for), and have paid them 1500 dollars, and have nothing to show for it. I would of received the same punishment, without being out of the money.
