This is good sushi(for Denton). The rolls are large and a great value. The soft shell crab appetizer is the best thing going there. However, the seating inside is so uncomfortable. The dining area is one large room with no sectioning to break up sound. Dozens of metal chairs scraping around a hard tile floor — nails down the chalkboard. Make it to go please.

Food: 7⁄10(Not bad) Service: 7⁄10 Value: 6⁄10 Ambience: 6⁄10(Pretty clean but doesn’t feel like a nice restaurant) Decent place for sushi. The atmosphere felt like a cross between fast food place and a typical restaurant. The service was average. The food was okay. The presentation was great. The price was just right. Nothing bad to say really. I’d recommend this place if you crave some average and affordable sushi. Cheers.

This place is great for to-go orders. I only ever order to-go(I’m not sure why) but the process is always so easy. The staff has been nothing but amazing to me! The best part is that my order is always right and I can pick it up 10min after ordering.

My boyfriend showed me this place and said that it had really good sushi. I would have to agree on him with that! I’m not a huge sushi eater but I really like the sushi this place has. The White Dragon rolls were really good and my favorite so far. There’s so much more I would like to try. They have some pretty good appetizers too. Their noodle bowls are really big as well! My boyfriend’s friend ordered one. I was very surprised at the size of that thing. I got full just looking at it. You could be eating all this time and it looks like you haven’t touched it at all! Every time I’ve gone the atmosphere is very pleasant. The noise level is at a good level so you can hear the people around you and talk to others without having to raise your voice. The servers that I’ve had so far have been nice and attentive enough.

I actually have visited this sushi place pretty frequently. Typically things are okay — there have been a couple touch and go moments from the service(one time we were there for over an hour and only saw our server twice) and once and awhile from the presentation of the food but overall this is a pretty safe sushi place to visit. However, I recently had a pretty bad experience with their staff that makes me never want to go back.

I’ve given this place plenty of chances and I would have to say the is just ok. What tips the scale is the horrible service and clueless wait staff. You are better off going to wild ginger in lewisville.

They have good lunch specials and the generous portions. I would recommend getting this sushi bar a try, I think it be a great place to take a date.

Got the deal on Groupon and decided to come. Let’s just say I was disappointed… The rice was too salty to eat. The salmon wasn’t fresh. It was just the worst sushi I ever had or I’m just very picky with my sushi. Not gonna be back!

J sushi… how do I put this lightly… J.U.S.T. sucks :( I would rather just buy my sushi at the grocery store than go back to this place. The place was cute & the bathroom was clean. The yellowtail was good but the octopus had a strange color. The beer was cold & it was tasty! That’s as many good things as I can think of. The service was strange. I can’t even put that into words. The sashimi was cut all wrong & the salmon skin roll was the opposite of what I ordered. I asked for a plain salmon skin roll & it appears in front of me with fake crab on it! Hua? PRICETAG $ 70. Experience priceless. J.U.S.T awful. Won’t return :(

Our server was very nice and quick on her feet. The sushi was good and fresh. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the fried rice, but I tend to be a bit picky with my rice. We visited at peak lunch and we were in and out in under an hour. Décor is very minimalist and a large open seating area. Pictures on the menu to show what the rolls look like, I’m a fan of that!

Food is good, service is good and the place appears to be clean. Furniture and walls have seen wear and tear and there are napkins under the tables to keep them from rocking. Came in for lunch on a Saturday to find no lunch menu or pricing. The portion was a dinner size with dinner type pricing. I won’t come back for a weekend lunch. Not worth the value. Spent $ 16.95 for a Teriyaki Salmon with rice, soup and a cup of hot green tea.

Okay, I’m in love with this place. I’m pretty much a weekly customer and come during my lunch break from school. Bento Boxes: SCORE, affordable and super filling with great sides, I’ve had the bulgogi, pork Katsudon, and chicken teriyaki, all bento boxes come with two dumplings, 4 pieces of California roll, Japanese salad, and tempura(sliced up sweet potato, onion, and 1 shrimp). I really like their tempura batter and when I don’t order the bento box I like to order the assorted tempura basket. The only thing for me that they are missing is rice, the bento boxes don’t come with rice, which is kinda strange cause it’s weird not eating rice with chicken teriyaki, bulgogi, Katsudon… Favorite roll: Avocado lover, don’t be deceived by the name but the roll not only has avocado but SALMON, there is avocado inside the roll and on top and salmon in the middle and they top it off with a soy sauce glaze, it’s amazing and my go to. Service: I know a lot of the old reviews in 2013 say that service is bad and their drinks are never refilled but I’ve been here a ton of times and service has always been great. The waitresses always fill my drink(sometimes up to 3 times in one meal cause I’m thirsty) and never leave me hanging. Sushi: salmon and super white tuna(kinda expensive, but really yummy). Honestly the keeping me from giving them 5 stars is the fact that they don’t include rice with their bento boxes, and if you want to order rice it’s $ 2.00 a bowl. Other than that, this is my favorite sushi place in Denton!

Warm sushi bad customer service sticky tables all that happened at my recent visit to j sushi I had high expectations for this place because I’ve been here before but I will not come back. I used a groupon and I asked for the table to be wiped because of the sticky tables and I think my waiter thought little of me as a customer not worthy of his presents I’m disappointed I won’t be back like I said

My Boyfriend and I come here on several occasions. Both of us love sushi and we never go anywhere else. Pros: The food is awesome. Love the Shrimp tempura so much that I have started ordering double. The prices are average for a sushi bar. Their fried rice is really good. I order it with hibachi made steak and it gives it some real flavor. Cons: The servers tend to have a big turn over rate. Every time we come there are new servers so they are never here long enough to learn their menu. The can’t answer simple questions like what Sake is and will have to run to the back and ask. They are all nice and it’s never changed how much we love the place but it’s something we have come to expect. The food really out weighs the service and we love treating ourselves here on date night.

I come here a lot but now that I’m pregnant I thought sushi would be out of my sights for a long time :(which kills being such a sushi lover. But fear not! I have a few favorite rolls here and they were able to make me special rolls close to my favorites that were pregnancy safe. There sushi is really good! Fish is super fresh too. I will always come back when I’m in town. Service has been sketchy at times but they have worked it out it seems.

Food: it was real good. I enjoyed my food a lot. The sushi was fresh and tasty. I was very pleased with my order. I got the titanic and tornado roll. Service: It was ok. The server didn’t even check on us. She didn’t refill our empty drinks. She asked how the food was when it was all gone and we’re about ready to go. Overall — I would come back again because of the sushi.

Very mediocre. The service is good, but the fish is not fresh. It taste frozen. I got the Tropical Roll and the cucumber skin was too thick and it wasn’t crunchy enough. The fish tasted frozen. I got another roll and that one was good but not anything special. Blue Ginger is wayyyyy better.

Love, love this place! Their lunch bento boxes are decently priced and amazing! I def recommend the soft shell crab tempura. The kal-be was a bit chewy the last time we went but usually very good.

We came here with some friends while visiting the area, and overall this was an excellent meal. It’s a little weird that it’s in a strip mall, but the interior is nice, though it could use a tad more light. The menu is the usual extensive selection that you see at Japanese places — honestly, since I know what I like, I just looked for those items. Our party ordered the biggest sashimi assortment(I forget what it’s called, but it’s $ 69.95!), as well as a number of rolls. I’m not sure how long we waited, but at some point they turned up with some edamame and announced that it was on the house. Our sushi eventually arrived, and it was delicious. The sashimi pieces were decently-sized and super fresh, and the rolls were excellent. My only complaint is that the rolls were just a little too big to comfortably eat in one bite, especially the end pieces. And they weren’t padded out with rice either; it was actually the inside that added to the overall size, making each piece quite a mouthful. The service, unfortunately, was hit or miss throughout the meal. We seemed to have more than one server, which meant that no one was consistently checking on us or filling water glasses — my glass went empty for much of meal after the sushi arrived. The final bill surprised me, at just $ 120. We decided as a table that they had discounted and/or comped some items due to our wait, since we had expected it to be more like $ 200. I would definitely come back here, but hope for better service next time.
